I think the concept of âhard workâ is one that isnât clearly defined in America. My dad worked 2 full time jobs at grocery stores, and could barely pay the mortgage when I was growing up. Thereâs also unpaid labor, such as caring for your children that isnât discussed when it comes to âworking hard.â People everywhere âwork hardâ to survive, raise their kids etc. I think that the people who do become wealthy are better at working the system instead of simply âworking harderâ than the average person.
Your father chose a family over wealth. ....the "system" did not make him have sex/children
but what determines working hard? You say that because your dad had 2 full time jobs at a grocery store, he was a hard worker. But (i mean no offense by this at all) could your dad have studied and put himself in a position for a better job that earns him more money? I'm not saying every rich person works hard, (most of them do tho), but some people can make incorrect decisions in their early life and are then forced to "work hard" and pay for those mistakes. That doesnt mean they deserve to be rich.
@@YouMockMe no matter what choice he did he still is working hard
@@YouMockMe what does it matter what the "system" makes him do, hard work is hark work regardless of any system. Having children as the example. It's hard work to raise a family.
@@detweiler You're correct, but I can assure there are much harder things. Like becoming a robotics engineer or a brain surgeon. Thats why those pay more then working at a grocery store.
I liked the fact that one of the millionaires admitted that he keeps pursuing more money because of an ever-present fear of not having enough. I would love to see a study of 'self-made' millionaires who are doing what they are doing because of childhood financial trauma. I know that was true for me, earlier in my career, trying to get to 6-figures annually to prove that I would never go back to living in a one-bedroom home with no running water and an outhouse again
This is a very important point. Also, when people save very intensely and have a hard time parting with their money. They could have $50,000+ in savings and low cost of living but still really stressing from an unstable children
why does it always have to be trauma? why cant it just be people who want money? Men biologically. want the fancy car that no one else has
@Jada Tesfaye there will always be a form of currency whether itâs a bill or trading. Our current day currency is by far the best option we got bc it doesnât matter what we have, itâs about the amount and thereâs always a way to get more
@Jada Tesfaye and as much as people donât want to admit it, that is quite literally from the patriarchy
@@alexsalazar5161 theres no biology that makes men desire money. men are naturally competitive because of biological and societal expectations. they are also expected to make more money then female counterparts so they are often in pursuit of money to impress girls

At 42, I've come to realize that money is a tool. Iâve worked so hard over the years to realize that if you donât make money work for you, you canât experience true freedom. Iâm glad I found that out although it was later in life, but that marked the turning point in my finances.
Herman Jonas, an astute financial analyst is the brain behind my success. I've gotten into a plethora of assets with $33k spread across stocks (options and futures) for the short term and Roth IRA, index funds, and ETFs, for the long term. Now I sit back, and just reinvest at intervals while I enjoy my retirement.
I agree that the market can be quite unpredictable, but working with Herman has been a game-changer for me. His market insights and strategies are consistently spot-on. Itâs not just about profits; itâs also about the peace of mind that comes from knowing youâre in capable hands.
@@Roymysterio I tried getting into stocks myself some time last month and lost a ton of money as I was ill-advised. Can you please direct me to him as Iâd like to hear from an expert?
I appreciate the feedback. I reached out to him via the mail you provided and we talked at length. I found him to be verified. Iâm glad that I signed up and I've begun my journey with him. Thanks again.
Working with a fiduciary like Sir Herman has given me peace of mind in my stock investments. He prioritizes my financial interests and has guided me toward stocks with strong fundamentals, resulting in consistent growth over the past 8 months working with him.
What self-made millionaires don't realize is that there are millions of other people just like them who didn't make it. If it worked for you doesn't mean that it will work for others.
I've watched Graham's channel and I like him. What I don't like is that he thinks that if you are not a millionaire it's completely your fault.
That's the American delusion. It helps prevent any political dissent from below by getting everyone to blame themselves, and excuse those, and many who succeed and often do so through less than desirable means, from feeling guilty.
It behooves people like Graham to be LESS naive! What is the great aphorism? Things are not always as they appear!
Totally agree
Well the reason they didn't make it is only because they didn't find what they needed to make. These people found out how to make money with no one to teach them. It's not that it didn't work for those people they just weren't able to find what worked. They weren't using the same methods and most likely eventually gave up before they could actually learn.
I disagree as not being a millionaire is not a fault, so how can it be yours. Being a millionaire is something extra, and while there is no way to make it, being frugal and investing everything will tend to get you there.
I mean, you aren't exactly going to become a millionaire from doing nothing. Luck does help, but not everyone can capitalize on the luck and if you didn't work hard in the first place those chances wouldn't appear. Obviously though, I'm not saying everyone who became rich worked hard.
"Ohh your gonna die from your implants"
"Well I'm going to die a D cup"
This cracked me upđđ
If you're gonna die one day, it should be doing what you love. Everyone wants to die happy. She said it jokingly but, she ain't wrong.
@@ai_sight
That's too narrow minded. It needs more parameters like "Die doing what you love as long as it doesn't negatively affect anyone else or the world."
@@Un1234l If one wants to add parameters like that to such a general saying, they might as well write an entire essay or book analyzing such a topic since one could feasibily interpret and approach it through an infinite amount of possible circumstances.
Or...are you trying to say that her D cup implants somehow negatively affect the people around her and the world?
@@ai_sight
Nope. Just my addition should suffice. It's honestly all just fluffy semantics over a trivial matter, but your saying on its own was too broad and would potentially forgive egregious acts like bankrupting the nation/the person you hate, broadcast to the world your death via heroin overdose, doing a murder rampage and committing suicide after/killed by law enforcement, being a daredevil and make a dangerous stunt in full view of schoolchildren, etc etc.
@@Un1234l But any logical person with reasonable reading comprehension would understand that my statement isn't forgiving such acts in order to achieve happiness. Especially in such a light hearted context as this one. Wouldn't it be narrow minded to think that you're addition is the only other exception that needs to be tacked on? What about bringing harm to yourself? Dying happily but not providing anything of substance to society? Someone sacrificing themselves to save others? What about an athlete dying from a preventable sports injury? Heck, anyone dying from a profession that poses fatal risks that could have been prevented. Depending on the people you ask, you can gain new perspectives on anything, even on fluffy broad statements like "die doing what you love".

This was a pretty nice, civil, respectful set of conversations. also, millionaires or the extremely wealthy want more "money" not necessarily because they want more things, but often because it mean power and the ability to influence things. they can already afford what they want, to it becomes what they can DO
There's a book I read recently "The Millionaire Next Door" and basically people who inherit a million dollars are less likely to hold on to the money because millionaires are actually a lot more frugal if they have to earn it. It never matters how much you make, someone who makes 60k can become a millionaire by saving, and someone who makes 100k can be in debt because of their lifestyle (expensive cars, clothes, houses, food, etc). i.e. 10:13
But if you're rich it's easy to get richer. You've a guy saying: Give me 50,000 and I give you 75,000 back in 3 months. And it works. There is always a "guy" who is smart enough to make money if he gets money in the first place. You buy smart people and tose them away when they become useless. "someone who makes 60k can become a millionaire by saving" his children who inherit the money.
So I just dusted off excel and did the math. Based on earning median salaries (interpolated based on age) throughout your entire working life, starting from the age of 17, if you only ever spent equal to minimum wage and saved all of your other earnings (all calculations are after tax), you would finally be a millionaire when you are 66 (the year before retirement).
It's a loose estimation with an assumption that median salaries would match inflation but what it comes down to is that the average US citizen (who would reach a 60K salary by the time they're 46) will basically never be a millionaire working a regular job and not investing in a portfolio.
@@anamewillcomelater Millionaires invest. They don't just let money sit. If you only invest 1k a month in the safest way possible (VOO stock) you'll have a million in 22 years.
@@happymolecule8894 How many you think make 1K extra each month they don't need? Well I think the better idea is to look a median bank, checking, savings, bonds, stock brokerage accounts. To me the idea is nice but the reality is that few clear 12K extra each year compared to the number who don't!!!
@@donaldlyons17 But 12k a year isn't much. I make a pretty low salary and i manage it.

It just sucks that valuable people in society are being paid so little... nurses, waiters, kindergarten teachers, retail and other people that keep our society afloat. I didnât qualify for FMLA because I was shy of a year at the hospital when my baby was due.
I asked around within the medical field and this is completely normal in the US. Not even hospitals care about their employees.

As a waitress and Mom of 3. I have always struggled with money, but I have enough for my needs. The only time I truly struggle is when I spend money on things that I donât need or that my kids donât really need. Then we get in the habit of fulfilling those wants and it never being enough. Those wants will never fully satisfy us, we will always desire more. I want to give my kids everything but now in my thirties I would rather give them stability and to buy a home with a backyard and for my kids to have their own rooms like when I grew up. But in order for that to happen I need to be strong and grounded in order not to splurge on the little things in order to save money and improve my credit score.

Graham probably spends less than everyone in that room
I have a problem with that. Not so much with him in particular. He's rich, but not filthy rich (I assume). People with hundreds of millions or billions of dollars hoarding their wealth does nothing to stimulate the economy. They need to be out buying stuff and if they don't want/need to, or have too much money to spend, then why keep it all? They cant take it with them when they die. Keep enough so they are safe in case of financial problems and some for their kids. Majority of rich people horde money for status.

Make a Teachers vs students, that would be interesting
I feel like teachers donât understand students. They wonder why some of us are always rude in their specific class but they donât take the time to wonder what theyâre doing as a teacher
â@@xokkumaOh I agree, I think students don't understand teachers either. There are some real bad eggs in both groups but students tend to forget that teachers are people with emotions and problems of their own and are just trying to do a job and teachers forget what it was like being a teenager when literally anything else is more important to them than the class.
Idk, maybe its the disconnect between what people are willing(allowed) to share when they are in school (both students and teachers).
So Iâm 21 and have obviously been a student. I now work as youth worker with disengaged teenagers so I see both points of view as I may not be an official teacher but I still have a lot of the same responsibilities.
The biggest issue for teenagers in schools is that that do not feel listened to or respected by teachers and I understand I felt as a teenager I was a number for a teacher to tick off to get an increase in their pay check if I passed but as I am in this teaching role now itâs not so much the person, believe me I have met some teachers who hate children and I have no idea why they are teaching, but the time and economic constraints they are under. You are one person with a class of 25+ trying to teach them the lesson and deal with the emotions of them and the behaviours. It is really difficult and such a complex balance.
I think, I am sometimes guilty of this myself, when you become an adult and you mature you forget what it was like to be a teenager and the issues they face seem illogical to the issue we face. Adult professionals need to be more empathetic towards student but again itâs down to the government and funding. Again teenagers, not all, are ignorant and donât see teachers as people who are under a magnitude of stress.
As I said itâs a balance that needs to be fixed.

"I bought a 4000 dollars cat that I had genetically made."
The genetically made part was more mind blowing than the price itself lol.
lil princess genetically altered humans donât exist.
lil princess yes, and those have nothing to do with genetically modified organisms.
@@smallnoob7577
It is absolutely, worldwidely forbidden, but we know how to do it. Same for human clones, they tell we don't know how to but why oh why would we be able to make clones of every other animal species, but not humans ?
These are just extremly forbidden things, but YES of course it has been done already.
For example : just changing eye color is a genetical modification, and ofc we know how to, and ofc it has been done already to prove we can do it.
iDrraaaK no, we cannot make clones of humans. Do you even know how much data is required for that?
Test tube babies aren't genetically altered. The closet thing we have to test tube babies right now is where you make a bunch of embryos, test the genes (the only genes which are tested are sex chromosomes and some of the genes which can lead to the development of an illness), and then implant the one with the most "desirable" genes
The community organizer is ON POINT!

They have to be one of the most respectful participants theyâve had on here.
That was exactly my first impression. But then again this wasn't an anti-Trump coffee clutch at the local 711.
And I think this is crazy, I am French and here in France a "Millionaires" vs "Minimum Wage" debate would have turned into manslaughter.
Whereas a debate on abortion or feminism would be a bit more respectful in my opinion.
cyr lav I meant that they were rude. They were quite polite
Maybe because everyone on the panel was broke at one time or another, so they see the other's point of view.
The reason for this is because they all started small. They all understand and continue to understand the value of a dollar and what it represents.
8:41 I came to that same conclusion as well. We all have something to give, and it isn't always money. When I put my value in money, I felt useless when I wasn't able to work for a while...and one day through a random act of kindess i showed to a stranger that was so meaningful to the them...I realized I have value and I have a lot to offer. Also love the Frugal Millionaire.
Amazing. Taught me a lot!
I can clearly see why Graham is a millionaire.
Check out his channel, has some really great stuff
@Adam Craig yeah, guys like that like to blame the system instead of admiting their own shortcomings
@@user-ee8cq9jt3y From the 3 minimum wage person he was the only one where you could tell that he was ok with it. He had a normal life no big problems and went by. So i dont think he is a know it all i think he just has some vision of how he would like society to change.
@@odatas To build on that more, its totally based on his perspective in life. As you said, "he was ok with it.". That is a very wrong mentality to have IF you want to make money. Tim is content with his life, thus he does not wish to put in the extra time and effort than these other people, especially the Millionaires have. Its a very offensive mindset to want to make money. Just like Graham said, he kept on going to open houses every Sunday. He was doing this IN ADDITION to his other job, assuming he had one. All the while he probably also dove deep into how to become a successful real estate agent. Tim, however, would rather ride the coat tails of someone else's hard earned money than be bucked off. And when we did try to buck them off, they begin this aspect where they think the government needs to change, not themselves.
I completely agree that anyone, specifically young people, has the time to be able to make money. The main factor to this, is the mindset. Its up to you how much money that is. Which also means how much work, sacrifice, wherewithal, and patients you have.
@@zwest2195 To me Tim was representative of the millions of people who dont care about getting rich and simply need stability so they can pursue whatever else it is that they want. So I think the idea that he is riding coat tails is wrong because he isn't as he doesn't want to progress further economically than where he is. As was said in the video, you can only balance so many plates and because of that you have to pick between relationships and money most of the time (if you look at most millionaires/billionaires the seem to have had to sacrifice relationships to make it to their position) and many people choose relationships or whatever else they want to focus on rather than money.
I like how Graham immediately wanted to give Tiara information that could help with her debt. Thatâs real generosity in my opinion.
Nah, Graham is just being Graham
@@Phianhcr123 thats the truth though, his transparency is so refreshing
Yâall should watch his channel!
but shes not interested in making more money than she needs? she needs to change the way she thinks so that she will never go back to struggling with debt. You can't live on what you need you always need something to fall back on so yeah, you need MORE than enough to make ends meet.
Fuck real estate agents as a generality wonder how many people heâs gonna evict in January
I think there is a lot to do with how someone sets themself up early in life as to if they will be "rich" later in life or not. It can be finical gifting, but connections, education, mindset to become rich, etc. etc. play, not the only part, but a major part and needs to be adapted early on to see the best effect.
i honestly think this was the best middle ground outcomes between 2 vastly different sides coming together. this is ultimately what makes the world a better place little by little.
Me: Don't have alot of friends, Don't go to parties, alone myself most of my life.
Also me: not a millionaire
Yupppp
so you have all the time in the world to improve your life and spend it doing nothing.. that's kinda the point
@Harry PAnnU ! are you having a stroke?
@@furrylover6953 That is simply untrue. You can be making 50k a year and be a millionaire by the time your 65. Its all about money management.
@@furrylover6953 it's not "luck" it's about smarts. If I start a business selling air will it take off ? It's about markets and what consumers want a whole lot of factors. The smart ones correctly calculate whether or not they will succeed while the others don't.
The rich girl looks like the calm Cardi Bđ

Ebony Lo. That face looks like itâs gonna bark or some shi đ
Agreed

I definitely think circumstances and backgrounds and having certain privledges makes it more accessible to be rich. I've spent the majority of my teenage years up to my 30s working jobs that I've slowly moved up in. It's been hard to say the least but I've had debts I had to pay off for both my mum and dad. So in a way I can relate to things like giving up on a social life but in others I just don't think it's at all possible until you have made the right connections as one of the girl puts it. Networking is often more important.
Awesome sharing!
But I think âpornstarsâ vs âporn-viewersâ would be an interesting one
Where do I send my info... for the porn-viewer, obviously.
I think they actually already did one like that
wtf, its not even debatable. pornstars will thank porn viewers for viewing them.
Viewers vs non viewers makes more sense, sounds like an interesting conversation because I was a viewer at some point
Last time I saw one, it turned into an orgy
After shooting this, everyone went to McDonald's and Graham use his discount coupon and didn't pay.
He got two double cheeseburgers off the dollar menu.
And a 10 cent coffee
Donât judge him for his purchases at McDonaldâs. Everyone needs a monthly reward lol
How true is this?
Graham is a smart guy I sub to his channel I'm also in real estate take it from him it's an awesome place to start
I really enjoyed this one
Persistence, perseverance and endurance. If you go into something and it doesn't work out once and instead of learning from it you bail on building upon that, that's where you can clearly seperate failure from success. You never fail until you stop learning from your mistakes and give up.
How I gave up social life but still have no money đ

Payton Max
Theyâre still both rich in the end
NanaNEET but how they got to that pint is different so they probably have different views on different topics
This is a great idea. I'm sure your perspective on money is dependent on how you got it (Generational wealth v. Earning it from scratch).
Sarah L. yeah or nepotism v people that actually worked for it
That would definitly be iteresting, however I feel there is definitely gonna be a more negative view on those who grew up in a rich family and by rich as in their parents were making $300k+.
This was REALLY calm and civil. I did not expect that, but it's a pleasant surprise nonetheless.
Most people don't realize that their parents struggled because of them. Having kids is probably one of the biggest financial holes because you just have to make sure that your kids and family in general are provided for.
The guy with the brown coat is humble and it was really refreshing to hear he also struggled in high school but still became successful. No college. Bad grades but he had the mindset
He was also fortunate to get the connection that he needed which he himself said that
