@@PeruvianWall Alas, that only really had any lasting power in GT. Whereas Super pretty much ignored it entirely. Meaning whether or not Vegeta was humbled depends heavily on which of those two continuations you're going on.

the c word is a lot more widely used in the uk and austrailia for some reason, it's like their version of the b word. but in america for some reason the c word isn't used as much so maybe that's why it's viewed as more taboo.

The bird Android 16 is talking to is named Toriyama. Same as the creator of Dragon Ball.
It's a throw back to Goku's fight with Frieza. Teaching a "dinosaur to ride a ball" is a reference to the opening thyme song Head Chala.

Couple things - first, the weird embryo...remember when 18 asked Dr. Gero if 16 was his 'secret project', and he started to say no? Yeah...keep an eye out.
Second, 17 and 18, unlike 16 and the others, aren't actually 'androids' - Goku just didn't understand 'cyborgs' and everyone else didn't know better. They really are brother and sister - they used to be regular humans before Dr. Gero experimented on them.
The good news is, trunks is getting to know his father. The bad news is, trunks is getting to know his father.

By the way, the "sad for you!!" Vegeta line was one they took straight from the original dub of the show.
One of the lines in the original intro translates roughly to "teach a dinosaur to ride a ball." The author of DB is Akira Toriyama, with the "tori" part of his name represented by the kanji for "bird" and the "yama" part with the kanji for "mountain." In the first Cooler movie, when Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan he brings a bird back to life, naming it Toriyama and telling the bird to go teach a dinosaur to ride a ball. Toriyama, the bird, came back in this episode to tell 16 about his dinosaur that can ride a ball. The bird did it!
Lord Popo on LSD is both hilarious and terrifying. On one hand, he's preoccupied with tripping *all* of the balls, but on the other, if his trip takes a bad enough turn, he's the most powerful being in the Abridged universe. That could get *very* bad, *very* fast!
Actually the male is #17 and the female is #18. Twins that Dr Gero captured and were turned into cyborgs. The big one, #16 was modeled after Gero's son. Also there's a meme out of Popo's 'trip' set to a beat.

In the OG song the lyrics before 'Cha la Head Cha La ' that's used here.
The Lyrics translated are Dinosaur, if there is : Balance on a Ball, I want to Train it.
Better Translation for English is 'I want to find a dinosaur and train it to ride a ball.' Toriyama you probably knew is the name of the creator of Dragonball.
The Lyrics they use are "I can handle it. Smile Ultra-Z style Even today' I suggest reacting to the Full 'Cha-La Head-Cha-La' song.
I really like how TFS portrails 17 and 18..great dynamic and in the other timelime they are completely different, maybe because 16 doesn't exsist there. He is like a bigger brother to them to keep an eye on them and i really like that.
I've given a lot of thought to this. Trunks changed something, and that something is, Goku didn't die. That probably changed Dr Gero's plans: instead of trying to make a whole bunch of androids focused on killing Goku like in this timeline, he instead made 17 and 18 as evil as possible to cause as much destruction as possible.
I am also amenable to the idea that 16 was a positive influence on them, like, there was someone they actually liked who cared about whether they destroyed the birds. Without 16 they might have gone evil, or, maybe not.

That one word has always been a bigger deal in America than other English speaking countries for some reason, probably Puritans. It’s slowly become less of a big deal over the past twenty years as everything becomes more globalized.
7:33 Vegeta already knows he dies to them in the future, he was told the first time Trunks came back by Goku and Piccolo but Vegeta is probably just writing it off as the future version of Vegeta not being as good/strong as present Vegeta.
I always wished Krillin had said to the androids that they shouldn't kill Goku because he is a good man who devotes his life to protecting others. It feels like it was at least worth a mention.

Actually the difference in power level of Vegeta and the androids isn't that big really. The real problem is that the androids have infinite amount of energy, so the longer the fight lasts the more Vegeta runs out of energy and stamina while androids do not (yeah, that moron Gero SOMEHOW found a way to create infinite energy and instead of using it to solve world problems he put that in killer androids :facepalm:)
Also, honestly, Trunks really annoyed me in the first episode (as well as previous ones), both in this series and the original anime. All this "we can't do this without Goku", what exactly would be different if Goku was there? Even if he wasn't dying, his power level was about the same as Vegeta's at that point (actually Piccolo briefly mentions that Vegeta might be stronger now), so the situation would literally be no different.

Yeah I agree that the word "cunt" isn't special; I think treating that word like it's radioactive is an American thing.
So to give you some background info about this arc of the show, it suffers from disagreement between the author and his editor. First Toriyama (the author) introduced Androids 19 and 20, but then the editor strongly suggests that an old man and clown wont make good villains. So Toriyama has them quickly defeated and replaced with two new androids 17 and 18 and throughs in a third android (16) for extra measure. But then the editor says that they weren't much better and once again suggest he change them out. Needless to say, even after the true main villain shows up, the editor still says he had a very bad design so Toriyama gave him the ability to transform into a better design to appease his editor.
TLDR This portion is one big tug-o-war between the author and editor on how the story should go so things keep changing.
