Volvo 940 Turbo Review - Most Humble Car from the 1990's

- the 1990s was the end of an era for cars like this one. In my oppinion these are some of the best cars ever built, so I just had to do a review of my 940 before I sold it.

My half-brothers father had a 1994 red 940 Turbo. We borrowed it and drove it on a 1000 km trip to my relatives in the far north of Sweden in 1996 (if I remember correctly). It was a great car, very comfortable, quiet and smooth on the road.
Yes they are very underestimated! For the money nowadays you cant get anything better
I own a 91 940t sedan same color as yours, I love it,my wife doesn't like it 😐,I got it 7 years ago from the original owner only 148k miles,is a very reliable car and not many on the road anymore here in California.

One bad thing about 940s- they have transmission lines going all the way toward the radiator that fail, and due to the length of the 2 lines, they have a part#, but are no longer available from anyone. I was lucky enough to have an old Volvo mechanic in the Chicago area that did the best he could do and they don’t leak anymore…for now. He retired and if those lines start leaking again, will be a parts car. 93 945 235,000 miles. Non-turbo 😢. You can’t find the turbos in the US for sale anymore. 2nd 945, also have had a 855T (fun!) and a 964. Loved that Porsche-designed engine. Unfortunately American drivers are freaking horrible and others totaled my last 3. Wish mine was a Turbo. My 855T was so fun to drive. The 964, as well. Thanks for the video.
I've got a trans leak on my 945T currently that I can't pinpoint. I'll have to check out those lines!

Wow... I've always seen a Volvo 940 to be a huge vehicle from EU on any given road... But your height simply dwarfs your Volvo 940 into a Mini Cooper 😱... Can I assume you're about 6'5" or 6'7"?

T5R are delicious. That exhaust note!! Will be buying another 940 after this winter and do a drift build on it. Definately built to last
Your "upgraded" air filter is sucking in warm air from the enige bay. You should duct it or revert to stock filter

It has no difference, good or bad but it sounds good.

Depended on how much fun I wanted to have ;) Just cruising Id say 7-8L/100km

@@lifeaddicts6323 but not an 98 with an m90 :( a 940 for sure, but no manual option , we have to do the swip swap on all of our cars, our lsst model year was 95 im fairly certain

@@lifeaddicts6323 yeahhh we have a decent amount of 740 turbos, but of course getting thinner by the day , and very few manuals ! Had to swap all my volvos with manuals from JY finds , which pop up maybe 2 or 3 times a year if your lucky in manual! And I live in a largish city too couldn't imagine a smaller town
@@GettingGoodwell none of the transmissions were good other than the m90, which is ok, but still pretty fragile. You should swap in a better manual if you are gonna do any tuning.

16/19t turbo, injectors and chip
@@lifeaddicts6323 Kör med bränsle och tänd chip och har runt 160 - 170 på hjulen och vad jag vet så klarar inte kopplingen mycket mer? Tänkte nog köra en t3/t4 turbo till sommaren men har kollat runt lite och folk säger att man borde köra starkare bränslepump å?
Org koppling samt vxllåda klarar ca. 250-300hk beroende på vem man frågar samt hur den körs. För T3/T4 är de nog smartast att uppgradera pumpen. På fulltryckare som denna är dock klarar pumpen lite mer, går säkert att ladda upp till 1,0 på 19t. Ska börja med ett 940 bygge snart dock där jag ska trimma o kommer då gå igenom allt o se vad som fungerar för min osv. Bara att prenumerera så får du se så fort jag lyckats köpa en!
