    Just subscribed nice channel! So I have a tip for everyone. My opinion most simple and best mod is wheels and rims. But not just that’s. You wrap metal model train weights around your rim then mount your tires. Gives you amazing low weight. My SCX10.1 has two sets wrapped in the front and one in the back but I run the battery in the rear. I have aluminum bottom links and alum servo link and horn. With everything else stock with a 12inch wheel base . Thing crawls rocks better then these guys that have been in the hobby for years w mods. I’m still a noob and learning but I’m telling you train weights give it that perfect low weight to a light chassis. (Make sure you leave wheels elevated or they will get flat spots.)

    Very nice comparison man 👍 I have been around the 2 unimog kit and it’s surprising. Went mostly like %97 places I went with same tires in this vid on my trx4 and his all stock. I had plastic bead locks wheel weights and Pyrex tires. It would start to wheelhop a little and bounce up and over about anything lol I would weigh the wheels but I wonder if that would hurt it the way it hops 🤷🏻‍♂️.

    Really not sure how to approach this, but I suppose that for those coming into the tiny truck scene that this is informative. Perhaps my learning curve has been steeper than I presumed, a stable full of various manufacturers and styles I am sure helped me in forming my own, and in agreement with your review. Currently I am assembling my SCX10.3, I have rough trail rigs, or over built trail rigs you might call them and from the initial release I knew that this was never going to be one of my best performing trucks. What I lacked and anticipate that this release will satisfy is that trail cruiser, like you said "its the body".

  • @ImprintImpressionzRC
    @ImprintImpressionzRC Před 4 měsíci

    Own both. 10.2 is heavier upfront due to placement of battery pack. On the 10.2 literally everything is up front if you’re running the kit transmission and not the old three gear. Your motor, servo, battery and transmission are all up front. Only thing towards the middle is all the electronics. The 10.3 has the disadvantage of having a higher height due to portal axles which gives it a higher center of gravity in relation to centerline plus it moves the battery (in most cases the heaviest weight) to the rear which throws off weight balance. The 10.2 was the best platform they ever released and horizon Hobbyvilla screwed it up. I swapped out my portals for their straight axle conversion kit. Unfortunately due to the design there’s nowhere to mount a battery up front. All you can do to counteract it is to use a heavier weight oil in the rear along with stiffer springs

    • @RCReviewChannel
      @RCReviewChannel  Před 4 lety +3

      Dig is not that useful so far. It really doesn't allow harder lines to be cleared. And more opportunities to make driving errors. And the 10 iii dig won't really work under power. Our Vanquish VS4-10 dig is more useful.

      It's not that good. We have it on our Capra and our VS4-10 Pro. The Capra is so weak and cannot be activated under power. The Vanquish is way better and usable in an on-demand momentary button.
      It avoids some three point turns. On very tight courses, it can be useful too since the vehicle can be pointed more easily.
      But it's a whole new skillset that can lead to a lot of errors and fails until used perfectly.

    Great video, I've had many crawlers and recently pickup a 10 ii, I must say with a few mods it's destroys my modded trx4 sport just about everywhere.
    I think maybe you ran a light battery in your sport vs 10 ii video?
    The 10ii benefits from a 3000+ mah right up front...
    I'd like to see that comparison again with the same tyres and a few bits of comparable brass on each.

    Francis... Let's get CONTROVERSIAL...
    *SWAP out the Portals for AR-44s!!* 😲 They should be on the UNIMOG, not a Jeep. 😖 Frankly, it's a me too gimmick that only adds about 11mm Pumpkin clearance.
    And remove that waste of a Roll Cage!! I'm still not buying one yet, but it's NOT reaching its full potential in that configuration.
    Just YEARS of experience thinking. I hope you agree.
    I honestly think it's got more to give, but Axial OVERDID it! 😖
    *Try it.* Just AR-44 Axles and remove the Cage (maybe heavier Shock Oil), and put it back out there.....
    You might influence Axial's NEXT move! 😉
    Remember the TRX-4 FATSO vs. the Sport?
    And please stay SAFE! That's most important.

      Axial has already confirmed that they are doing straight axles, and one would assume a better version than ar44 as probably offset pumkin..
      Don't think too many folks would swap in ar44 axles once the straight ar45 are available.
      In my mind you would be better convert an scx10ii to a vanquish chassis kit if you wanted a similar and improved chassis design and superior performance.

      @RCReviewChannel  Před 4 lety +1

      roll cage is a waste. It does nothing in there and it's barely visible. 67 grams at the worst part.
      11mm clearance is a lot, percentage wise. It's like 33%.

    • @mickd8188
      @mickd8188 Před 4 lety +2

      @@Firewlkre converting an scx10.2, you can use the stock 3 gear or if overdrive is something you want the element enduro transmission bolts in to the vanquish chassis. The VFD transmission kit requires offset front axle and not all offsets are offset enough I'm told. But never done side by side comparison on the few axles available with offset. ie ssd and gmade

    Man please compare the Gen 8 Axe to the SCX 10.3. They will both be brushless and have better servos. I think they are comparable. I am betting the Axe would be more affordable after fitting the bits and pieces to a SCX 10.3 kit. Really think they messed up with a Jeep body, so overdone.

    Instead of improving over the older, they managed to make the new one worse in every sense in package filled with useless and/or dubious features (2 speed trans, dig for classes 1 and 2) and dubious portals. I'd rather buy an Element RC or a TRX-4 Sport and put the Axial Jeep body on them.
