I just installed an LED headlamp in the stock headlight housing. It's the same bulb that's used on many cars and trucks. It seems twice as bright as the stock halogen bulb. I also installed an LED parking light bulb. That's the small bulb to the right of the headlamp. It was probably twice as bright as well. I installed four amber LED bulbs in the turn signals. They seemed three times brighter and were drop in replacements that didn't change the flash rate. I bought all of the LED bulbs on Amazon and they were not expensive. I didn't remove any fairings. I removed a cap screw on each side of the headlight assembly and with a little persuasion, it popped out the front. The user manual describes replacing the bulbs. I also wired heated grips, a dual USB charging port and a hidden Invoxia GPS tracker cable tied behind and above the headlight with a separate USB charger to recharge the GPS tracker while I'm riding. The two accessory power ports from the back of the LCD instrument panel have a weird connector. I bought the mating connectors on eBay. I replaced the three rubber mounts on the headlight mounting bracket with large washers to hard mount the headlight to eliminate the horrible vertical vibration that causes the headlight to flicker. There is no need to shock mount an LED headlight because there is no filament to break.
Love the video. I don't use mine as much offroad as you do, hence, no barkbusters. Other than that I have done pretty similar mods on mine (also off ebay) plus wider sidestand base, adjustable brake and clutch levers, wider footrests and longer brake pedal. And, most importantly for me here in the UK: taller Givi windscreen.
Thanks for taking the time to explain what you added, why, and how much it cost. I just got a new baby GS and I'm accessorizing it, putting together and adventure toolkit, etc. Unlike you, November is heading into winter around here and it's not a good time to ride.
Hi there just subscribed to your channel I bought the same bike but a blue one 3 weeks ago you have fitted some very useful mods on it I put a good fee on mine. Nice video 👍👍
Welcome aboard, Derek! They are terrific bikes, so comfortable and really quite capable- with a few protective mods. Ps- the blue ones look pretty cool 😎👍
Wow! Excellent video! I sure do appreciate your not only showing your modifications, but letting us know the price as well. I also appreciate your fabricating parts to suit your needs. The G310GS is a handsome bike, fun and a great value. I am very glad to see examples of how you explore/demonstrate its potentials. I dream of taking my bike up the Pacific Coast Highway to Northern California or heck, perhaps Canada, or go to the back side (east) of Sierra Nevada where many western movies were filmed (google Alabama Hills, CA). Well sir, if and when I do take those trips, I will have you to thank! Oh, by the way, do you switch off ABS when you ride on dirt, mud and sand? Also, my wife said the beach where you rode your GS is very beautiful! Tai
Cheers Boxster for the kind words. Sounds like you have some exciting plans for your GS. They're great little Adv bikes, very capable machines- enjoy it. As for ABS. Most of the time I turn it off in the bush to help with skid turning corners etc. Bit of fun sliding the bike also.
Nice vid! So you think the tyres don’t loose too much on road comfort or corner grip compared to the stock ones? I really want some knobblier gripper off road tyres but I also have to road commute Monday to Friday. Btw after seeing one of your older vids I also bought the dominator exhaust ! Good kit and good price!
Cheers BKT. Those Shinko's are great on road- feel like road tyres. Such a good design. Good one with the pipe. They certainly change the sound- and feel- of the bikes hey.
I know this video is older, but do you have the link for the pieces you bolted onto your footpegs? I have a 2023 and I noticed the footpegs are really narrow. I like the idea of making them bigger versus actually replacing them. Thanks!
Pretty sure these were them 👍 www.ebay.com.au/itm/404364705080?hash=item5e2603bd38:g:rj4AAOSwBo5k6ASj&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8A12k8WjAVh1vhSEoheeRSSU7TzcRX3xEdFui6cHshnjo33PKJKblaMVyhtjlKlOgPiyBhDJR5R9QkXanrw0o0q5kUi%2F7Wq3PHld9qyOzPit28rKeLwvr5MDavtIUFysvOxSg7wUfyBjDmoAcGDAW%2BYpo37ITGk0VlhkrfWJCPWiyueYYgJyGtOmdvj0vAcektqr3G%2BBiT87WVA8kFUuVDM3kxhItXz22fqSA9AoxN%2BJQvROxiti%2F0MBjpMWfHq6nqqm0ILk6ERvvfb66lTJS468VvueePnT4X3ApvAqXV18NzNew6YzM8U%2Bk6JF72SXag%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR67cv5yBYw
I really like this bike, but saw the review video that talks about some negatives points of the bike. He mentioned a really bad vibration and rattling when riding? Have you experienced this vibration on your bike?
THey're great little bikes- cheap to run and quite capable. As for vibes, around 90 kph (50 mph) they vibe a bit. Well mine did. Around 100 kays plus (60 pmh) they're fine. Very comfy bikes 👍
Where do U live ? When U say Mid Coast do U mean Taree or Forster or ?. I am about to buy a 310GS and wanted to say hello if U live nearby and I could buy U a coffee n get some advice if U are an hour or two max from me at Forster NSW....let me know. Regards Brett
Hi Brett. I live up at South West Rocks. I no longer have the GS, but I can assure you they are terrific little bikes- very reliable, comfortable and very capable with a few mods- tyres, decent handle bars, bark busters, bash plate 👍
@@MidCoastAdventures . What did U weigh ? Also, did the pipe add any extra power, like 5percent, worth it or not. Did the bike feel under powered or was it ok as a get around n cruiser to sit on 100/110 etc. Was the suspension too soft or was it ok to soak up our crappy roads. I wonder at 120kgs will it really struggle or be fine once up to a decent speed. Thanks in advance.

I dig it...just getting up to speed on all your vids, brother. Consistently great content.

Glad it was helpful! They are really good little bikes. Enjoy it mate 👍
Great bike buddy, can’t wait to get mine, love all the mods you have done 😃👍
Thanks Motogspot. So you're getting a G310GS?
I was actually looking at the 850gs, hopefully 1 day soon 😃👍

Good video. And I enjoyed your other adventure vids for seeing the bike and your scenic areas.
Where do you order your parts from?
Hi Dan, pretty well every part on the bike come from Ebay. Be it China or locally here in Australia.
Nice video, thanks. Have you taken that bike through hell and back, like a narly single track where you shouldn't be, and how was it ? thanks
Nothing too extreme. THe suspension isn't really designed for too much rough stuff, but they are capable ADV bikes. Just not extreme stuff.

@@MidCoastAdventures Amazing!! Thank you so much!!
How do you like the GP 1 dominator? Too
loud? Can’t decide between that one and the oval.
I think they sound pretty much the same. Both fairly loud- even with DB killer. May give you ears a hard time on longer trips...
