The contrast is Wolves consistently play their bigs and play them alongside each other. If the Lakers keep deciding to play AD at the 5 then the blueprint of following what the Wolves did has already failed

Xavier Tillman is a good look for Lakers. Offensively Drummond AD pairing would be something to work on but defensively these 2 can shift mountains Timberwolves style.
Exactly the Twolves also play 2 long wings with there bigs. Anderson and mcdaniels are both 6 9. To have that length while playing smothering Defense and guarding the 3 point line perimeter is a recipe for success. The Lakers kept playing 3 guard linups who never guard the three ball. Never adjustments..smh

I said the same thing. We were like the Wolves in that 2020 championship win. We swarmed our opposition. Even though we may not had the best shooters our high defensive players and the consistency helped us win the title. Everyone in 2020 bought in and played hard. Honestly, we need that same model and I wouldn't mind having Vogel back with that model.

what scares me about LEbron leaving isn't LEbron leaving, but it's the fact that he's gone and we still have Pelinka and the Rambii. WE need to hire Bob Myers STAT. He could lead us into the future. Pay him or Presti anything it takes. That will help the inevitable rebuild smoother.
I agree in theory, but the Lakers ownership does have "Pay them anything money. " other owners are really rich and can afford to pay front offices and coaches whatever is needed, whereas the Lakers have to get by on prestige, that's why they always seem to lowball, but that's all they can afford from an operational standpoint.
You guys just won't accept that Austin Reeves is not talented enough on either side of the ball to justify him remaining on the team. Also other teams value him and will trade us guys that can play both sides of the ball.

Lakers should get kai sotto. Its more athletic center and can shoot outside rainbow and perimeter. Can defense too better than sub center in the team.
Trade for Caruso and Myles Turner as starters at the 1 and 5. Use Prince as the SG to help shore up LeBron's defensive weaknesses.
That allows AD to play the 4 and be the main mid to low post option while Turner takes over the perimeter/high post looks effectively spreading the floor.
Making Reeves the 6th man is not a demotion as he will most likely close games instead of either Caruso or Prince who would not get starters minutes.
He would be playing alongside Vanderbilt and either Wood or Hayes with maybe Vincent still around as the third PG and one or two of the young prospects at the end of the bench.
Rui, DeAngelo, and Cam Reddish would go in trade.
The rotation would essentially be LeBron, AD, Turner and Reeves as the offensive players and 4 goons/defenders to soak up fouls and know their role.
Caruso n Vucevic trade will go a long way to getting to the next lvl

After you bring in a center, you have to bring in an extra shooting guard for space and offense
Try to get Andre Drummond for backup big he’s and unristricted free agent he will be perfect and see if you can trade dlo to get dejounte Murray and try to trade to gabe and rui and picks to get Caruso
Why do we want murray over dlo? Murray has proven to be way worse on offense meanwhile being way more inconsistent. The onky thing murray sort of has on dlo is defense but even then dlo is an underrated defender.@josephblocker2724

LAL can always mimic the 2020 roster but 1 person they can't mimic, is Rondo. The IQ Rondo gave to the team was invaluable. The best move is to hire Rondo as an AHC. At least he still could share his IQ to the team.
There are 2 guys that can be added to the roster to specifically fill that role. One would do good on the court since he’s younger in Tyus Jones.. the other one is CP3. They’re obviously not exactly rondo but the closest thing we could use on that role.. maybe a TJ McConnell if anything.

Too many players on Lakers roster that has the same strengths and weaknesses
Thoughts on getting rui on board for a Dennis Rodman role and have him just hound defensive rebounds? He can have a little more impact on offense in the second unit but like the 8 point games would hurt less with it being 8-5-10 or even 5-2-15 game would be perfect.

Lakers need to make trade deals with the Bulls because they have players that fits and this will be a very good lineup with Lebron+AD scoring 100+ppg (Lonzo or Caruso, Lavine or Derozan, Vujecic or Drummond) and the bench will makeup with 3D/defensive players!
Wolves only play 1 small player, Mike Conley. Lakers play tons of little guys: Dlo, Austin, Dinwiddie, Gabe, Prince (I consider a 2 guard plays no defense).

I've been saying that for over e years. Finally Trevor see what I see. It's the build that helped Jordan win, Kobe and Shaq. Then Kobe and Gasol. Lakers 2020 team. But the real problem is our GM is obsessed with point guards. Every year including this season coming up he's still chasing a point guard

I think it’s more important to learn from the philosophies of the 2020 team and Wolves team, than it is to completely mimic them. Trade for Lauri with Gabe, JHS and either Maxwell Lewis or CWood and load it with 1st and 2nd picks to get it done. Starting lineup of DLo, Austin, Bron, Lauri, AD and bench of Max, Vando, Rui would fix most our problems. Rebounding, size, offense and defense are much improved. DLo would probably still struggle on defense, but he’s worth it for continuity, offense and playmaking. You also, still have Vando and Max off the bench to help with this
We realistically don't have enough to even go after Lauri flat out. Russell has a player option and he is most likely opting out and not coming back. Besides, Russell, Reaves, and James are all liabilities on the defensive end. Also it was recently reported the Lakers are willing to give James any term he wants to keep him until he retires. Which means he'll eat more into any money the Lakers may have. So that means even less flexibility with acquiring any new talent let alone retaining players. Who ever is currently under contract will most likely remain on the team and will be taking the court next season. Essentially, running it back minus Russell.
The Jazz turned down 3 1sts for Markanan last year. The Lakers don't have the assets for that trade.
You didn’t learn anything from losing to Denver 12 out of 13 times if you are still wanting a DLo and AR back court.
@@tmoney6475The Denver series showed that the Lakers biggest issue is rebounding. The next biggest problem is Rui’s defense. His defense on MPJ/Aaron Gordon was a significant issue throughout the series, a bench role would be better. Ham used DLo, a streaky shooter, as a shooter instead of a point guard, which hopefully will be solved with the new coach making him a more consistent contributor. Outside of the two game winners Murray did not play well that series partially due to AR’s defense. I’m not saying the DLo AR pairing is perfect, but there are much bigger and more important problems with this team. Trying to trade AR or letting DLo walk for the MLE just trades a smaller problem for other problems without addressing the team’s biggest issues.

I think AD's problem with shooting the 3 is just him not shooting as much as he used to anymore. It is something you need to constantly be doing for you be able to get it rollin after all. The issue is there is really no one on the roster that can battle out night in and night out down low other than AD. In short, it is related to the fact that AD is the only one they have who is willing to be really physical download. Back in 2020, we have guys like Mcgee and Dwight, these two guys alone will go, like how my friend says it, muscle to muscle with other team's Bigs who fights inside.

Lakers should try to replicate 2020 roster. They have some pieces. They should go get a traditional PG with high IQ like Tyus jones to run the rondo role. Get a solid backup big that play that Dwight role. Get a pesky 3-D guy like Melton to fill in that Caruso-KCP role. Gary Harris could be the Danny green with fresher legs. Keep vando since he’s an elite defender.

Honestly I still don’t mind dlo on the team at staring point. I just think we need to add depth really. Like I good backup center like Drummond and and good 3 and d guard we can put in the back court with dlo. Then if we can, we can have a solid bench with guys like reaves and rui and perhaps even dinwiddie. Cause our bench was absolute trash

Can we substitute a tremendous bench in lew of a 200 mil guard!!!!! There are quite a few very good players that can make our team great off the bench!!!!!! These are bigs, 3 point shooters, and ball handlers.
Monk, KCP, Gary Trent, Keli Ubre, Caruso, Dorian Finey-Smith, Brogdan etc. These are bigs, Valanciunas, Dwight, Drumond etc....

AD may develop as a shooter if he spends more time in that area. This year he spent every second under the basket or setting screens.

Put Hayes & Casstleton in the weight room (strengthening & bulkup) and get someone in there to work on Defense, Post moves & Footwork drills.
