- CanaryFly Trip Report flying from Tenerife to Gran Canaria onboard one of the CanaryFly ATR 72-200 on a weird spring day in the Canary Islands.
A comfortable flight from Tenerife to Gran Canaria onboard the CanaryFly ATR72. We were around 20 passengers onboard, so that was the main reason for the big comfort in this flight. The cabin was looking nice, but the windows, as you will see in the video, were terrible: super dirty and scratched.
CanaryFly tries to make some competence to Binter Canarias in these type of flights between the Canary Islands, but offering what I would say it's a worse product: no onboard service, no onboard entertainment system, fewer frequencies to choose and similar prices.
For a one-day trip, I think it's perfect: in 30 minutes you are on another island that you can enjoy and come back in the night. Now, if I would be a frequent flyer between the Canary Islands, I think Binter Canarias would be my option.

Fun fact: CanaryFly is a Binter Canarias puppet airline, this airline, uses old ATR-72 planes from binter, basically the old Binter planes are canaryfly’s planes .
Lovely Trip Report. Hopefully the inter-island flights will get busier as more tourist start to go on holiday again. The industry needs to get back to normal and fast. I work in the aviation industry myself and feel like it has been forgotten about my governments! ✈️

It’s interesting to find a trip report of a Tenerife North flight as I’ve only heard about Tenerife South until now.

Hi Lucas.Great report as always.I think that they should change their name to Canary taxi.Everything goes by so fast.the boarding the take off the landing and on and on... Un vídeo corto pero muy bonito por las magníficas vistas que siempre tienen las islas Canarias, el que no haya operado durante cuatro meses ese avión debería estar limpio no es excusa para tener las ventanas así de sucias por lo demás esta bien el ATR. Un cordial saludo.

Yo he volado en CanaryFly (La Palma-Tenerife) (SPC-TFN) y la verdad,,solo me dieron un vasito de agua,en cambio en Binter, una chocolatina,caramelitos etc...Prefiero MUCHO más Binter :)
La verdad es que mi experiencia también fue bastante mejor con BINTER =/

Very nice video ! If you not mind, I'm curious to know if the speed variations and the turbulence feel more stronger compared to those of large airliners, as are Boeing or Airbus. I heard several passengers who said that the flight with ATR it was much more pleasant than in a large plane. I was onboard for some odmestic flights just with Boeing 737 800. Even on this planes I didn't feel comfortable and that's why I'm afraid to travel with ATR.
As you go often to the canary islands you should visit Madeira, Mauritania and Capo Verde

But we got a nice show of the self push back. And I think I like the interior of the Tenerife terminal as well a the plants on the air side,
Well, I've flown on 20+ years old airplanes and the windows were in perfect state. It is up to the airline if they want to clean them and change them when they are scratched... =/

No, la verdad es que no. Binter me parece una mejor opción en todos los sentidos. Pero siempre está bien que haya competencia. :)
Fantástico vídeo. El único apunte: la maniobra de power back no es asistida por un señalero, la realiza el propio coordinador del vuelo.

02:09 Hard to watch that fog roll in to TFN and not think of 1977. It's comes in so quickly and it's so dense! Please don't feel it is weird or morbid to bring up that horrible day in March 1977 (coming up to 45 years ago) as we can all benefit by learning from the mistakes made so that they are never to be repeated. Thankfully communication between controllers and pilots is much better today, and navigation aids/radar are in place to prevent another terrible collision on the ground or in the Tenerife high ground - indeed, Tenerife has had more than one major accident due to fog and miscommunication. While nobody can make up for the loss of life, if we can learn from them and prevent future such crashes, then at least something positive comes out of all of the air disasters. Dan Air Flight 1008 in 1980 remains the last major crash on the island, itself over 40 years ago. May that be the last.
On to much brighter topics...glad your flight was relatively uneventful! Can't say I'd heard of CanaryFly before but it looks like fun, I always love ATRs! Hopefully you get out to Florida one day and fly Silver Air's ATRs!

He volado en varias ocasiones con CanaryFly , la última hace 2 semanas desde La Palma a Tenerife Norte. Como dices, deja muchísimo que desear. No te ofrecen nada a bordo ( ni siquiera una toallita desinfectante). No hay entretenimiento a bordo. Y las veces que he viajado con ellos siempre con retraso. Sinceramente prefiero Binter, ya. que los precios son similares, hay mas rutas y frecuencias.
La verdad es que esa fue mi conclusión solo con volar una vez con CanaryFly jeje
