- Binter Trip Report flying from Tenerife to Gran Canaria onboard one of the Binter ATR 72 on an amazing sunny winter day in the Canary Islands.
My first trip with Binter Canarias and I must say it was a unique and amazing experience. As the title says, I felt like taking a bus that was flying rather than going on the road. The boarding was super fast, extremely close and friendly staff and punctual trip. Passengers seemed so used to these flights, as they arrived at the gate just a few minutes before boarding. It really felt like I was at a bus stop rather than at an airport!
The flight itself was great too. We flew super low over the Atlantic the less than 100 km that separate Tenerife and Gran Canaria. We had great views of all the Santa Cruz de Tenerife area and stunning views of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Maspalomas, Vecindario... I can say it was one of the most intense and surprising flights of my life. Looking forward to flying again with Binter. I'm already planning an Island Hopper Trip Report! Soy usuario frecuente de Binter porque vivo en las Islas Canarias , he viajado por todas las islas con esta compañía . Todo se vuelve un proceso cómodo y rápido. Te recomiendo viajar a las islas del hierro o de la gomera , las aproximaciones son realmente fantásticas !!! Un saludo

Como ya digo en la descripción del vídeo, me gustaría hacer un Trip Report de 4 o 5 vuelos de isla en isla. Sería un vídeo más largo de lo habitual, pero creo que podría ser algo muy entretenido! :)

@@OnBoardHD esperando a unas amigas que aterrizaban en El Hierro, vimos como descendia sobre la pista y con la misma salía de ella porque no le daba la pista. Es que es una pista pequeña jiji y luego volvió a intentarlo y ya aterrizó. Estas amigas bajaron temblando 🤭 y yo pensando en que menos mal que no estaba yo dentro jeje

No te dieron la ambrosía de la marca isleña TIRMA Es un aperitivo en todos los vuelos, los Canarios la apreciamos mucho....Jejeje, es una tradición de muchísimos años, recibir esta especie de chocolatina, que es eso, una ambrosía ( varias capas de galleta con fina cobertura de chocolate), enorme vídeo, como siempre, grande el detalle de captar incluso, el tráfico marítimo de ferryes, entre islas....
Jaja sí que me la dieron! De hecho es la ultima imagen del vídeo! jeje Unos 20 segundos antes del final. (Creo que es eso, échale un ojo jeje)
Pero me la dieron al aterrizar por temas del COVID. Estaba bastante rica :D

La verdad es que creo que todos estamos muy quemados con la situación actual... aunque hay que aguantar un poco más... no queda otra. Pero volveremos a viajar! Eso 100% seguro! :)
Es un placer siempre viajar con Binter , da sensación de familiaridad y confianza. Bonito reportaje, en días despejados en ese trayecto se aprecia el Teide y tambien Lanzarote y Fuerteventura. Canarias se dusfruta como paraíso desde que embarcas!!!. Ya volverá todo a la normalidad y los aeropuertos y aviones se llenarán. 👍😷🍀

Excellent report, sir! Perhaps one day, I too might have the opportunity to fly Binter. They seem like a very nice regional carrier. Also, the landing was so smooth that I had to replay the footage to determine when the main landing gear made contact with the runway. I love that! Thank you for your awesome trip reports!

Yo también soy canario, de Tenerife. Y por mi trabajo, suelo ir bastante a Gran Canaria, y siempre en Binter. Es una de las mejores aerolíneas del mundo y se ha llevado varios premios de aerolíneas regionales. Fiabilidad, puntualidad, aviones muy limpios y nuevos. También, en vacaciones suelo ir a la Gomera en Binter. Como han dicho por aquí, sería un video interesante!! Una de las mejores aproximaciones. Sigo tu canal y siempre que puedo veo tus vídeos. Enhorabuena por las ediciones.

Hace unos cuantos añitos conocí el puerto de Tenerife y sus adentros en un viaje trasatlántico que hice con mis padres a Genova desde Caracas Venezuela, es una hermosa isla. Me impresiona que un movil tenga tanto poder de zoom, increible. Me gusto el viaje con ese avión de hélice. Que lindos lugares. Un gran abrazo y te cuidas.

La verdad es que a mi no deja de sorprenderme la calidad de las cámaras de este móvil jaja Yo no destacaría tanto la potencia del zoom, sino la calidad que mantiene cuando hace el zoom hasta 20x. Es impresionante :)

La verdad es que grabarlo fue una experiencia genial. No tuve tiempo para parar a ver que grababa. Al ser tan corto, o grababa todo o se acababa el vuelo jaja Gran experiencia que me alegra haber podido transmitir :)

Ya era hora de que volases en los ATR en Binter. Esta muy guay la experiencia, a mi me encanta. Te voy a corregir un dato sobre los Embraer, no son 3 si no 4 ya de los 5 que tienen pedidos, ya que les llego el cuarto ayer, pero es un dato que no sabias a la hora de editar el video. El video como siempre esta brutal!! Gracias Lucas!!

La chocolatina ni pensé en vuelo en ella. Pero cuando me la dieron al salir pensé "aahh! por fin! aquí está la cosa de la que tan bien hablan todos!" jaja
The airport seems to be much larger than at the time of the disaster of march 77, but we still can see the stretch of taxiway where the PanAm 747 was blocked by the KLM one ((@6:54), and get a glimpse of the spot where the two 747s collided (@7:51, but half masked by the bottom of the window). The tower is new and larger than what we see in the films and books about the accident and enquiry reports
Yes, the airport has been updated several times after that. Both the terminal and the control tower are new. It's sad that happened... aviation has sometimes this sad moments...

Es el ferry villa de Agaete que pertenece a Naviera Armas , viajó mucho entre Gran Canaria y Tenerife ya que soy de una y vivo en la otra .

No, no. It's an optical effect from the camera. When you are on the plane, you can't see the propellers turning. The camera is not like human eye and can see the propeller turning :)

Los ATR me chiflan, son los aviones regionales que más me gustan con diferencia, y que bonita la livery de Binter.
Yo tuve la suerte de pillar cuando era pequeño un ATR de Binter cuando aun creo que era de Iberia la compañía y la livery era en parte amarilla.

Había volado ya algunas veces en ATR, pero nunca un vuelo tan corto. Volar tan bajo fue una gran experiencia. Poder sacar tantos planos diferentes a lo habitual fue genial :)

Very nice trip report! Really miss flying to the canaries from Dublin - pre COVID 😭😔 Hopefully things will be better again soon. I would love to fly on Binter or canary fly one day 😁 I would always see them when I was in the canaries! Tenerife north airport seems very nice, small and clean and I would love to fly from there soon 👌🏻 The interior of the Binter cabin looks nice also but I was expecting it to be green rather than red haha. Since I was last at Gran Canaria airport it looks like they renovated the exterior of the terminal, 😎 Anyway hope you’re doing well and brilliant video!!

I miss going on holidays. That's what I miss the most. Since Feb/2020 I wasn't on holidays (like the mayority of people, I guess).
I hope we'll all be able to enjoy some kind of holidays this summer, even if it's with lots of restrictions at destinations, but at least enjoy some warm temperatures by the sea hehe

Buenas! gracias por tus vídeos en general, y por este en particular, ya que es posiblemente la ruta que más he volado, junto con la de MAD-TFN. Acabas de recordarme que yo también me he fijado mucho en que cuando los ATR están en tierra, amarran las hélices. Nunca he sabido por qué lo hacen, aunque he supuesto que el motivo podría ser que el viento pudiese moverlas y causar algún incidente. ¿Es por eso, o hay alguna otra razón? Muchas gracias!

Yo supongo que será por si el mecanismo de freno que tenga la hélice se soltase... que no haga daño a pasajeros y gente de handling que anda por allí con las maletas. Pero no se la verdad...

Bueno, el video ha sido un verdadero gustazo verlo, nunca (y mira que lo he buscado), he visto un video como este, para los canarios Binter es como nuestro autobus entre las islas, y esas vistas de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria han sido las más bonitas que he visto, creo que en el trayecto Gran Canaria Tenerife es cuando sobrevuelan donde vivo....muchas gracias es el video mas requetebonito que he visto....jajajajaja y por su puesto;...-"Gran Canaria, que gran destino" !!!.

La verdad es que fue un placer grabarlo. Al ser un vuelo tan corto, tenía la constante sensación de que si no estaba atento los 25 minutos de vuelo, me perdería algo. Así que no quité el ojo de la ventanilla durante todo el vuelo jeje
Ahora mismo estoy planeando un Trip Report con varios vuelos inter-islas con Binter. No se, unos 4 o 5 vuelos dando la vuelta a las Canarias en un día... a ver si las restricciones se pueden relajar un poco en verano y puedo hacerlo... creo que quedaría un vídeo muy interesante! :)

Mate, this is not a piston airplane. It's a tuborprop. What you see behind the propellers is a turbine :)

Great video as usual, I flew Binter inter-islands but also to Morocco (RAK and AGA) and FNC in the Azores as well. On all of those flights the FL was low that I managed to track the flight path on Google Maps :)
There's a flight on my bucket list I'm trying to get on sometime from/to the Canaries: PlusUltra's transatlantic hop to CCS from TFN on the A340.

What an awesome video and travelling to my favourite place Gran Canaria ;-) I was due to do a day trip to TFN from LPA last year travelling with CanaryFly but this was cancelled due to Covid ;-( I am hoping of travelling to Gran Canaris in August. Also TFN looks like a different part of the world when compared to most of the rest of the Canary Islands. I think this is due to it being wetter and cloudier with the Volcano ? Is this correct ?

Well, all the Canary islands are volcanic, so they have more or less the same type of landscape. Tenerife might be a little greener than others, but I would say the most "desertic" one could be Lanzarote :)
