You should really explain in the video that Discover debit is taken anywhere that pinned debit cards are accepted. That seems to be a very common question. Anywhere you can use a Visa or Mastercard debit card, Discover debit will work. However, if you are at a business that doesn’t accept Discover credit cards ie. Costco, you must charge it as debit and enter your pin. If you charge it as credit it will decline
I have them the checking account , saving account and debit card. SO far no issues . i Live in a big city in los angeles california and discover is accepted here 100% everywhere , even the little corner stores take discover. So i have no issues with that. also i love that i get paid every Wednesday . When i had bank of america i would get paid on fridays . Now with discover the direct deposit comes in 2 days earlier. I am happy .
Between the high yield savings and 1% cash back on debit there is a lot money to be made in a year. Put that money into savings.

I have Discover Bank and love them! I was born and raised in the State of Delaware and lived 15 minutes from the only branch they have however, I never used the branch because I did everything through my cell phone. I have a checking and two savings with them and they are amazing! I live in Erie, PA and use them till' this day as my bank.
Can I open an account even if I live abroad?
Been a DB customer since 2018 & customer service is on the decline. The saving's rate is great but not so great if you can't get to your money.
do we need ssn to create an account what if we are college students and doesnt have ssn ?
Yes you need an SSN or TIN.
Can I recover my account by phone if I lost my email and need to created new one to replace it?
We’ve never tried it, but this is a bank. You likely can call and get assistance or fill out paperwork to get access.

I just opened a discover account the mobile deposit is only $500 will this go up?
That is specifically for scanning a check with your camera. Yes, it can go up, you can also call and see if they will increase it. Otherwise you have to mail the check in. But this doesn't apply to direct deposits, wires, etc. The more you use your account and build your banking history, the higher your limit can be (including no limit).
I currently have BofA checking account and savings account. When I go to ATM with my BofA debit card, I can withdraw money from Checking and Savings accounts. Will this same with discover debit card? When I use discover debit card, will ATM show option to withdraw from Savings account as well?
I am trying to put my emergency funds in an good interest savings account and avoid make transfers then withdraw money after some business days.

Just opened up an account. Question on domestic wires what’s the max amount you can wire ? I know some banks will only allow up to 10k while not in branch.. since discover doesn’t have a branch is there a limit?
There's no limit, but you just call the wire transfer team at Discover. It's kind of expected that you'll be sending a large wire (say for a home downpayment).
Do you know how to order checks I can’t find it anywhere on the app?

A big deal to me is having all foreign ATM fees waived, does this Discover cards waive these fees?
They don’t charge any foreign transaction fees but they don’t reimburse if the atm owner does

Online banking is the same as regular banking - just no physical branches. For the Discover savings account, no direct deposit or minimum is required. You just deposit what you want and you can start earning.

Discover credit card isn’t the same as the bank account.
I live in a big city in los angeles california and discover is accepted everywhere here. Same thing when i went to vegas and chicago it was also accepted everywhere in vegas and chicago , i didnt have any issues with my discover card in all 3 states it was accepted everywhere . As long as you live in a big city u wont have any problems.
What I do is I have a visa credit card and when they don’t accept discover I use my credit card and pay my credit cards with my checking account lol
I’ve had Discover for about 2 years now, and in that time there was only one place I came across that didn’t accept Discover cards (a local comedy club). Like someone else said, you could always get a Mastercard or visa credit card for the fringe case scenarios.
Discover debit cards work anywhere debit cards are accepted, even Costco. It’s not the same as their credit cards
Get rid of your discover card they are taking one of your amendments away.

i wish they can add more accounts like other banks such as HSA, BUISNESS CHECKING AND SAVINGS, COLLEGE CHECKING AND SAVINGS, FIRST TIME HOME BUYER SAVINGS ACCOUNT, COLLEGE 529 PLAN AND SO MUCH MORE
Discover has a checking and savings account that works great for college. They don't offer business accounts. HSAs are at investment firms (think Fidelity as the best), and 529 plans are offered by each state. No bank offers all of these.

How early does your deposit come in? My capital one deposits like in the afternoon on Wednesdays, I’ve had some people tell me that discover tends to able to deposit earlier in the mornings, wondering if it’s like that for you too.

Yes, you can raise it. And you can call and ask too. It's based on your history, so if you don't have a history or strong credit, they'll start you small.
Yes it will raise, I’ve had my discover bank account for 6months. And direct deposit ( consolidated all my other accounts to discover) for a month and a half and mines 10k check deposit limit now
