    Tahoe skier here. Lake Louise was the best skiing of my life. I was there on clear, cold days (-20 degrees C), mid-week. No crowds at all. Nothing but open, steep terrain. LOVED it! Definitely worth the trip.

    As an Indian I had no idea about Kashmir being so great for snowboarding, and especially glad when Kevin called it "world class"! Have to check this out next time I'm back home, thanks Kevin!

    lake louise and kicking horse changed how I see snowboarding. made the decision the day after that trip to move west from New England. We did probably 4/5 runs at each resort and it was the greatest riding I've ever experienced. Better than CO, UT, and obviously VT/NH/ME.

    Thank you for this video on awesome ski resort. Since you asked at the end of the video, next time you have a chance to drive from US to Alberta ski resorts, I would recommend stopping by Castle Mountain Resort in Alberta, east of Fernie Resort in BC (maybe visiting both of them in the same trip, relatively short driving distance from each other).

    Powder Mountain isn’t going limit ticket sales or season passes anymore unfortunately because the former Netflix CEO bought them. He also doubled the price of season passes this year and made a significant part of the resort private access only meaning you have to own property there to get on some of the lifts. It’s looking like the glory days of pow mow are over

    • @BoredProgression
      @BoredProgression Před měsícem +1

      As of right now they are keeping the day ticket limit but they did drop the season pass limit. They’re privatizing 2 low angle area lifts but adding a whole new area with advanced terrain and 2 more lifts to the public. Only time will tell if those positives outweigh the negatives. I posted a video about it a couple weeks ago.

    No Squaw Valley/Palisades?
    My Top Five:
    5) Jackson Hole. I was young and single at the time, and besides the extreme terrain I couldn’t believe the number of beautiful female skiers there seemed to be in abundance there, and for such an out of the way resort. It seemed like there was 7s and 8s all over the place and especially the apres scene. I never did see Liz Cheney there, which would have dropped the average hotness scale to about 3.5.
    4) Vail. Ignore Blue Sky Basin and instead hike out to Siberia/Mongolia to leave the crowds behind. There are two different natural half pipes in outer Siberia and plenty of powder.
    3) Tie between Heavenly & Palisades. I know Heavenly gets crowded but surfing through those Ponderosa Pines with that big blue lake beneath you is one of the most iconically beautiful situations you could ever find yourself in as a skier or boarder.
    2) Snowbird. Brutalism architecture finally found a place it belongs.
    1). Powder Mountain. California ‘discovered’ PowMow about 10 years ago and the secret has been out ever since. While I’m not a fan of the change in culture (I experienced rudeness three different times last year), or seeing a Nissan Altima with California license plates in front of me try to make it up that road in the snow, Powder Mountain is still that special place for me, even with the changes the new ownership is making. At this point it does not look like I will ever be able to afford property there unless half of Los Angeles catches incurable dysentery and sheets themselves to death. Ah well, one can hope.

    Sunshine village > lake Louis way better views better terrain and back country as well as an amazing boarding community and do I even have to mention the park (holy bowly)

      Sunshine has better snow IMO, but for the views I have to give it to Lake Louise. The best thing about the Banff area is that you can take the whole family and even your Mother-in-Law and everyone will have a great time, even if they don’t ski or board.

      We hit both in the same week, day after a dump. First day at Sunshine was incredible, we road trees off wawa and the slack country off the elbow all day. Both days were too windy to go any higher unfortunately. But LL was second greatest day of my life (behind kicking horse.) West bowl made me feel religious

      @SteveThompson-li2fc Před měsícem

      @@Joe-jt2ng Kicking Horse is a steep n deep Valhalla. Only reason I don’t rank it in my top 5 is the fact you have to ride all the way down to the bottom of the resort to get back on the gondola before you can get to the steeps again.

    that's awesome, I was in Banff in late February, hit up the BIG3 and would have to say Lake Louise was my favorite. Also was in Utah 2 weeks ago and hit up @snowbasin, @brighton and @snowbird and had and epic time.
