In this video I share my ten best ski resorts I've had the chance to snowboard at in my life. These resorts all have some of the best snow, terrain and overall vibe of any ski resorts in the world.
Shout out to @BoredProgression for showing me around Snowbird! - Sport
Zermatt/cervinia, tignes, ischgl, val gardena, les arcs in my list❄️❄️❄️
What a list!
A Europe specific review could be another video idea. Always wanted to travel there
I took my wife to Lake Lousie in Alberta a couple weeks ago, where she learned to snowboard for the first time, and it was honestly awesome. We live on the east coast of the US so it's not often I get that sweet western pow haha. I'd have loved to get to BC but her family is in AB and it was just a bit too far for how short our trip was. Next time though! Thanks for including the lesser known resorts, I'll definitely be looking into visiting them too someday 😊
Yes! Lake Louise is amazing. We went there in the beginning of the year and the view there was just breathtaking. Though it probably doesn't have enough pow for Kevin to be listed as top 10.
So glad you guys had a good time! Will be in lake Louise the end of January
@@SnowboardProCamp a video on sunshine would be sick😤
@@SnowboardProCampyou think we’re in for some big dumps soon? Been a dry start to the season so wondering if it’ll be like this all season
Other great resorts I recommend: Rusutsu, Madarao, Val Thorens, Zermatt, and Chamonix
I think Palisades definitely deserves #1 amazing resort and just the layout of the resort is so interesting and unique
Yeah Justin!
Finally, a video on this. So hard to find a good video online of where to travel, even for skiers. Well done
Hard to argue with Lake Tahoe, such a special place to ride if it’s a good snow year.
Such a special place!
Great places in Switzerland are, Scuol, Saas Fee and Laax. I have been to all of them and they are amazing. In Laax you get some liftlines but it is worth it.
Will visit next season!
@@SnowboardProCamp That's so good to hear. I hope you are going to have a lovely time over here next season and some great pow days😊
Great vid & list. I went to Baker years ago because I saw an OLD clip of Shawn Farmer jumping the road gap. Never heard of it again til this post. It is super rainy there :)
Went to Europe for the first time last year. Your review for st anton is spot on
tignes/ val d’sere is always great when im there, well pisted with good off piste options and great lift quality, although quite busy and hard to reach but the skiing is great and the town is great for aprés 🤙
Thanks for the recommendation!
I get that North America has great mountains but lift systems are so far behind what you see in Europe so it's unfortunate to see only one EU resort in the list given the insane amount of options.
St Anton in Austria is truly unique, the largest in Austria, but Les 3 Vallées in France is much larger (as a matter of fact, the largest in the world) and tops St Anton anytime (and many on this list) because of the broader variety of terrain, state of the art lift system and snow coverage and quality throughout a very long season.
ive been to VT many times, but unfortunately early seasons only. Would love to check it out in its prime
3 Vallées is much better than St Anton. I like Tignes better as well. Most modern lifts I think are probably Ischgl. Like that resort in late spring.
Anyway, haven't been in the US, but looking at some of the lift lines, it puts me off. Maybe smaller resorts would be better in the US.
The list involves places he's been to
@@mtcsypkens 3 Vallees doesn't have a Krazy Kanguruh though
@@mtcsypkens oh yes, Tignes is another gem hidden in the alps!
One of my best days ever was at Kirkwood during a blizzard.
Awesome! Did the highways get shut down?
@@SnowboardProCamp 89 was shut down between Meyers and Sorensens. I was fortunately staying in Minden that night and was able to slowly get back in my Subaru wearing good tires.
There were zero lift lines, not too windy and I couldn't see my tracks from the last run it was snowing so hard. Lots of dropping in to natural half pipes from snowed over dry creeks.
Haven't ridden Palisades yet, but Alpine Meadows (which merged with Squaw to become Palisades) was one of my favorites.
Appreciate your videos, btw; I'm planning to take my boys out this winter to learn.
As someone who has skied all the North American mountains, your list is spot on. Palisades is still somehow underrated, and that recent gondola addition, its only made the place more amazing.
Sounds like a road-trip hit list right there. Great suggestions
ez road trip from palisade to japow
Nisako Japan is a Dream ❤
Absolutely!
Dombay is always in my heart ❤
I love that Tahoe is #1 and its the only real resort I've been to so far🤣
Good choice!
Great list! Give you a few secrets…St. Anton..nope..follow east to little Stuben (all north facing and mini Japan bush riding) which is connected then north to Lech and Zurs… the lift infrastructure is insane….Le Sybelles, La Grave and Serre Chevalier in France…south of Laax is Obersaxen…and many connected areas on the Swiss/Italian border. Enjoy!
Wow! Thank you for the secrets! I think I need a season in Europe!
@SnowboardProCamp Ischgl on Austria / Swiss border its amazing and I love Zillertal Arena too 🙂. Zillertal walley have lots of resorts.
A, nice a low visiter of Obersaxen see you in two weeks
Love this, and some great flash backs of Japow moments in Japanuary 🏂🔥 definitely riding Mt. Baker in New Year, we're dreamin
Such a great list Kevin!
I’m surprised no Jackson Hole? That’s the one resort that has been on my wish list since forever
Jackson would be top 15, but it is quite busy
If you go a little north of Jackson you can go to Grand Targhee Resort. They get so much snow, it’s a great little place to check out. Also the views from the top are amazing.
Sick! Thanks for the recommendation!
I’ll make sure to check it out once I get to WY!
Whistler has some of the most amazing terrain but the 3 weekdays (non holiday) I tried going last year the lines were unbelievable. Worst I've seen by a wide margin.
Oh wow! Yeah, it’s getting a little out of hand with the lines. They need to add a dozen new chairlifts to spread people around
thanks for choosing 2 mountains from Japan! Yes, both are dynamic, nice mountains and I will go both this year!! Especially Niseko is heaven!!!
Awesome!
Thanks!
what you think about revelstoke BC? Im going there at the end of January for the first time
Kirkwood made the list!!! This guy knows what’s up!
I'm still partial to mammoth but last season watching their video game laps at palisades... man I gotta go back. Have had 6 days at palisades no pow days. The lift network takes some getting used to, in terms of finding what's optimal but I trust your opinion
No one of North American ski resorts will make even 100 top! It’s not only mediocre lifts systems and scale of terrain, it’s services, alpine villages, accommodation, food and après-ski. I visited almost every major ski resort in Canada, US and Europe. And the biggest ski resort of the World is Dolomite’s Super Ski in Italy!
Squaw on top
Val thorens and the 3 vallees are the best best ski resort in world, and with the 650km of pistes it is the biggest 🤙🏻
For me, any list has to include Chamonix, France. Still the king of hardcore back country - for both winter and summer pastimes.
But really the resorts we all rank as best are probably where we had the best snow conditions whilst we were there (blind luck to an extent) or where we had the greatest nights out with friends. So we all have some serious bias to deal with! ;-)
so true, there's no same list for everyone!
I was hoping Park City, UT would be on your list as it looks like you are filming from there 🙂 Haha, I also work there.
I haven't been to nearly the number of places you have but I am personally partial to Alyeska. Easy greens for learners to extremely difficult double-blacks. The view from the top is one of the best in the world and its not a resort town, its an actual town.
Eyyy Palisades’s let’s go
It’s the GOAT!
I haven't skied Chile but with that caveat I'll say that St Anton and the greater Arlberg area is easily the best of the areas listed although Niseko has the best snow. The Arlberg ski area is far, far bigger than any of the listed resorts and has an extraordinary variety of terrain with a lot of it steep and very challenging, even for true experts. However, having said that there are several French resorts that I prefer. Several cover more than 300km2 with a couple that are about 600km2. All of Whistler/Blackcomb could sit in a small corner of these areas. The off piste terrain is justifiably famous, the lift systems are easily the best in the world and if you want to cruise there are long, well groomed freeways that in some cases have verticals of over 1500m. Without a helicopter or snowcat there is simply no comparison. Although having said all this the snow in Japan is so good that you could well have the best days skiing in your life at what would otherwise be a fairly modest Japanese area on any day with fresh powder and in Japan there are more of these days than anywhere else.
wouldnt you recomend any alps resort?? just asking
Absolutely! Morzine Avoriaz, St Anton, Hintertux, Zermatt, Laax & Stubai are all incredible! Maybe a best in Europe video someday.
No Revelstoke?! Probably a good thing, keep it a secret.
Revelstoke is top 15 for sure. I just wish it had more chairlifts.
You should try Sheregesh for sure
Don’t go to baker
It does only rain there
Yeah, Mount baker is an active volcano. A seattlelite fell in this year. I would not go if I were you!
@@rustyrc3869 delete this now, the posers arent supposed to know where the pow is.
@@_CORVUS ahh yes
NEVER go to Baker, Been there two years in a row. ITS JUST TOO MUCH POW 🤐
Levi, Finland is so damn good!
Will have to check it out!
@SnowboardProCamp it's really quiet too
100% Riding at night time is fun at Levi too! "Night" is just a different concept in that part of the world!
@philliptran4460 I'm there for new year and the slopes are open later than usual! 2 hours of daylight
You should visit Erzurum Palandöken or other resorts in Türkiye and then your list will be change I think
no revelstoke?
Snowbird? Pshh. Terrible Resort. Good looking riders in the B roll though! 😉
My bad, this was actually the top of Vail! About to watch your video from that same day at Vail.
Poley mountain, Sussex NB Canada
imo, mammoth > tahoe. tahoe is a perfect at its rating compared to others as many locals here prefer mammoth
I was to Czech Republic's biggest resort and I didn't like it in comparison to Austria.
Good to know
Maann…only one spot in Europe in this list 🤔?…you’ve got some serious discovery to make, Kevin, esp. in the Alps….
Maybe next year I’ll do a season in Europe
Genuinely shocked you didn't place Clew bindings at #1
It did cross my mind 🤔
I hated Squaw Valley (Palisades). If its windy there is no trees protecting the snow from icing over. Can'tbelieve itsyour number 1. The fact you did not include any CO resorts seemed intentional. Telluride tops all of our North American resorts
Mammoth is better than Palisades IMO !
This was all backcountry, correct? I mean, I don't remember Squaw looking like that when I went
The shots at Palisades are from the Broken arrow area which you do have to hike to, but isn’t considered backcountry.
This list honestly is bad. As a european i can tell you st anton isnt even top 5 in austria and its the only resort named in your „world wide“ list. I agree with palisades and niseko being on your list (ive been to both and loved riding there) but honestly the best *resort riding* that you can find happens in the alps. If you want endless tracks, barely no lift lines and dont pay 300 bucks per day for a ticket then visit austria, france or even switzerland (eventhough thats a bit more expensive). Also insane freeriding options all over the alps.
In the top 5 should be Zermatt (Matterhorn), Les 3 Vallees, Les Portes du Soleil, Sankt Moritz and Ischgl. These are not even mentioned. 😂😂😂😂
But palisades is so. damn. expensive...
That’s true. But with the Ikon pass it more reasonable.
Homie determined to make every resort as busy as whistler
Oh shoot my bad!
@@SnowboardProCamp 🤣🤣
You should try wolf creek in colorado!! It’s my go to mountain 🫶 love your videos btw I’m a huge fan!❤️🔥
Im just here to throw some shade at kevin for not coming to falls creek with me last year…
😂 Adam you’re relentless
@@SnowboardProCamp of course… but it will happen. Even if i have to pay for it myself. You will ride falls creek.
No crested butte?!
Is it the best?
Palandoken Turkiye ❤
I’ve heard great things! Will visit Turkey in 2025
Palisades? Really the Sierra cement? You said it can get a bit crowded? Ha! More like packed.. Tahoe is way too overpriced and overcrowded ( Kirkwood aka The Wood being the exception ).
There are resorts twice as big as St Anton in Europe
VT right?
Precisely!! St Anton is great, but not the best in Europe
He's saying it's the biggest of the 10 resorts he talks about.
@@inmotion_snow Yes, "Les 3 Vallées - Val Thorens" and the other one "Les Portes du Soleil " . Each of them has more than 600km of piste
@@ill4eva Exactly, he still has a lot of catching up to do to. Europe has at least 10 resorts that are bigger that St Anton. These areas are too big and will provide all possible types of riding that you can imagine. People go there for many years and every time are discovering something new.
It rains at Baker. Don't go
Constant rain is the one Baker drawback
why no single one from europe ?
Wow……no Jackson
Not a single resort from Colorado made to the list.
Shows you how overrated they are maybe 🤔
Whitewater really? Been twice had fun but it's not top 10 in the world
Zermat
Zermatt is really good yes
Best ski resorts in the world and 2 of the top 3 are in the US give me a break.
Davos Parsenn
Is that your favourite in Europe?
@@SnowboardProCampYes, I am currently there right now
ONE resort from Europe in top-10? This video is a joke, man.
