    Super dissipointing to not see any Mid-West Resorts on this list. Boston Mills in Ohio has 6 trails, usually 4 are open. It only has 200ft of vertical, basically all ice, no real snow and tons of grass and mud. Other than that it has some of the most breathtaking views of landfills and 300ft hills that you will ever see. Seriously make the trip out here some time and experience what we in the mid west have to deal wit- ... .er I mean offer.

    Just got back from a trip to Utah and the cottonwood canyon resorts are the best places I have ever skied. Favorite one is Alta ski resort. They are known for having the best snow in all of North America and it does not disappoint. They have a special way of laying out the lifts to where you really have to hike or traverse to get to the good stuff, which really keeps the snow fresh. It is skiers only so sorry snowboarders, but it’s next door neighbor snowbird, which can be accessed from Alta with a special lift ticket, does allow snowboarding and also has some of the best skiing I have ever done.

    As a long-time skier, ski writer and publisher of a regional ski magazine, I have been to North America's biggest and best known ski resorts too many times to keep track. So, is my favorite ski area in the Rockies or Sierras? No, I bought an old miner's house in the Michigan Upper Peninsula snowbelt and now spend my winters skiing at Big Powderhorn and Indianhead. Tons of real powder as good as out West, short lift lines, a season pass for the cost of two or three days at Vail or Aspen, friendly Yoopers, great food at reasonable prices.

      @@WatchTower71 are you talking about powder days? Usually just needs to be cold for that. Not sure how Jackson Hole and the Teton area would differ it’s always powder there, because it so cold. It rarely ever gets above freezing on their runs.

      @@DontUputThatEvilOnMe it talks about the science behind it. I think my link didn’t go through but search for Utah Goldilocks storms. It explains why we have the best snow. My point tho is that, even if you believe we don’t, Utah is still the most popular ski state in North America.

    Great list. However, if you are going to pick a CO mountain. Keystone ain't it. Fun mountain, but so many great options. Gnarly POW - Crested Butte, Endless Terrain - Vail, Steep and Deep - Telluride, High Alpine and awesome town - Breck, Tree Runs - Steamboat. keystone has options but not even top 10 in colorado outside of the park.

    • @garth4919
      @garth4919 Před rokem

      Revelstoke is really what you make of it. There is always something above your skill level at revy which is what makes it so fun. With that being said there is still plenty of low angle tree runs and pillow lines to explore. I've been to both and personally I grew out of fernie and when to revy to test myself. Fernie still on top for the deepest pow tho

    I'd add another Canadian hill, having been to Steven's pass, Crystal and Copper. Either Fernie or Kicking Horse or lake Louise. Whistler is risky because of the bad weather that socks you in for days of wet cement. I wouldn't book it too far in advance. Revelstoke is a sure bet, watch out for the tree wells as it is very dangerous in that regard.
