Learn how to use a router and different router bits to make molding to build a pair of picture frames. I use once piece of Poplar measuring 5/4" X 8" to make both frames. It's nice to have a good router and set of bits and a good starter set of bits for most jobs would include a Cove bit, Corner Beading Bit, Rabbiting Bit, and Roundover bit.

Just started wood working and your tutorial is really professional, simple yet concise and to the point! Thank you!
These are great frames. I really enjoyed watching this. I love how you can make amazing frames with different bits and build the frame up.
A video about how to create the stencils could be interesting. Certainly, I would appreciate it. Also great video on making the frame. Thanks Jon.
I always enjoy all of your videos so please teach us all about stencil painting as well as the framing process. Thanks for sharing!!
I like the clean cutting, clean mitre cuts, the way how the parts were fitted to become a perfect piece.
Beautiful frame and easy to follow instruction, Jon. I'd like to see that second video.
Great work Jon!
Good one Jon! We often forget about using different router bits to make frames & other projects. Thanks for posting this.........
Love to see how you make the stencil painting. Thanks, Jon!
Love the design, Jon. I’m always learning something new on your channel.
Great video Jon, I always learn something new watching you (how to mitre with changing the angle of the saw in this case!), thanks for sharing!
Outstanding skills!
Great work Jon! Thanks for sharing the video, i really like the lime green color and the blue.😎👍JP

Thanks for sharing this helpful video, great job on the frames.
This work need alot of patient to learn. i'm a painter but beginner at woodworking. thank you sir for sharing.
Man you are Legend! Another amazing vid as always: straight, simple, precise, accurate and detailed stuff ending in great practical and achievable pieces of woodworking. All the meat and no bones*. Thank You! ps * nothing to do with sponsoring when there is some which for me is ok
I love your art videos Jon. Would love to see more.
Awesome video John. I have some picture frame projects coming up. I’m going to try this.
First time i see moulding how realy made thank you so mutch
There's something infinitely satisfying about the sound of a friction fit between the molding
Quadros agradáveis! Ótimo trabalho.
Thank you Jon , I learned some helpful tips
Nice work Jon! 👍👊 Thanks for the info!
Such a precision... pleasure to watch!
great use of tools and thanks for the tips, Jon absolutely would watch video on attaching art to frame...

Well done!.Thank you.
It will be a pleasure to seeing how you make the stenselprint
Yes the stenciling process would be interesting if you have the time. Thanks for sharing
absolute art work!
Great video Jon. I enjoy your wood working videos the best. Any advice on what type of material to use if someone was planning to make mouldings for a house. Ex., window casings, base trim, chair rail and so on .... I guess the person's budget would play a major factory in what materials to use.... Hope all is well with you and family and God bless....
Simply Awesome
Excellent video Jon. Thanks!
I like your work. As a photographer watching your videos on framing, pictures ., I am hooked making my own frames for the pictures I develop
Thank you! It’s always fun that moment of putting the picture in frame.
Sieht ja fantastisch aus 👍
Great project Jon 👍!
Nice frames! Steve Ramsey wants his green paint back though... 😂😂😂
would love to see the process for the painting!
Hello, great videos Jon it's always a pleasure yo watch! How did you assemble together the 3 or 4 pieces of molding, i guess you banned the nails as you're using the chop saw? Regards.
Great vid thanks for the tips👍
It's late and was falling asleep until I saw the colors. Hello!
He knows what he is doing. And he had all his fingers. Amen!
Great job! Great skills! Great presentation, as always!
However, to me these frames are too thick for the tiny picture they are designed for.
Those frames look might fine and dandy!
Great video I am just starting to learn how to build picture frames and this is a great video for that 👍 ..will be following you on your channel keep up the great work
subscribed you make it look so easy man lol
BEATIFUL!!!
Another great practical project. What lighting do you have in the workshop? It really works well to get diffuse light.
Nice work as always.
good looking barn/ shop, .good ideas , on picture frames, iv'e built an eight foot router table, ( 1 1/2 horse porter cable ), nice to see quality videos, to help people learn to do stuff !
Parabéns Jon q Deus continue te abencoar
Yes, my vote is for the artwork/stencil video.
I love the blue! Even the green is great but I really like the blue.
Very much appreciate the videos you do. This one expanded my ideas on making moldings as well as how to use them when assembling those moldings.
Thanks so much!
Another great video.
So smart and well detailed project sir Jon, keep it up the good job am learning from u now the new skills
Thanks!
Nice work
Wow, beautiful frame. I'm wondering if I could assemble all the pieces into long strips so as to reduce the number of cuts neccessary?
Super show!
Great video. Can you do a video on birdsmouth beading and how it's made?
Very great work. 👍🙂
wow- that's a hella fine frame fam
Gracias... Wonderful video thanks for sharing your great talents with others who want to learn, thanks so much...
Bravissimo
I enjoyed watching this thank you for the video
very good video, my congratulations.
I would like you to help me with a question:
I want to know if you make or can recommend who can manufacture custom router bits according to my product draws.
Nice!💜
Colors aside, great project. The stencils a really nice. Complimentary color for the green frame, like blue and orange are compliments?
What a colors my friends!
Sweet!
Would love to see the stencil video!
Yes, please do a stencil video. Thanks
Yes, for stencil video,, thanks
Yes on the stencil video.
Is that your wood working shop it nice!!
Great! Thanks
He makes using that router look easy
Great video Jon I really enjoy your framing videos. I love the moulding but not sold on the colour myself but that's an opinionof mine we are all different. A bright colour needed a simpler frame in my opinion. You did a super job on the frames. Thanks 4 sharing
Well it is longview woodworking, not longview painting.
Love the video. One small addition, the name of the Danish furniture designer is rightly ARNE Jacobsen.
This is a magic! But magic is heresy!!! 😂
John, do you ever build up all your molding first into 1 long 8' piece and then just make 4 miter cuts per frame?
Nice
i like to do black backgrounds when i spray graffiti. it makes loud colors pop really well. maybe try do do some black somewhere to bring out that POP!
Very nice
Great video! Very informative. But I'd use a pin nailer, not a brad nailer. Much smaller holes to fill, and the glue does the work anyway!
Love a nice sharp ticonderoga
Asome loved it.. Color not shure
Wouldn't it be a lot easier to glue all of the long moldings together first and then cut the miters and make 8 cuts instead of 32 per frame? Looks great though!
Dan Letkeman Dan, totally agree.
It would be a lot easier, but that's not Jon. To me he is Mr. miter, I could just watch Jon, making mouldings and miters, all day long :-D
That's what I would do, otherwise I know making all those cuts, I'd fuck up somewhere and Id have a small gap or some bullshit
SayWhaat your mouth is full of filth ! Stay classy!!! Your suppose to reply a nasty comment now...full of hate and obscene language..
12M Views blue crappy Nova
Great video, thanks !!.
Greetings from México city.
Thanks you very much, I'm a picture framer by trade and you have basically deciphered the high cost of making a picture frame at home, but most of my customers want ornate frame with silver or gold color or some shade of brown or burgundy with golden beads carved above the rabbit. Can you please show us how to carve ornate frames out of raw Lumber. Thank you very much
Very talented thank u very much
Nice one Jon, but you did right ask the wife, have a nice day !!!
Hello Peter, I am your admirer here in Brazil, I would like to know what is the model of your bench saw
Hi John, what kind of tree did you use?
This project was gorgeous; however, personally, I would never paint poplar. Poplar is one of my favorites it looks like it's an abstract paining in its natural color.
2:40 - why riving knife is a good idea.
Joli travail bravo 🛠😉
