Making Picture Frames from old Cherry wood flooring

  • I made these frames using Cherry wood flooring that I've had laying around the barn for years. The wood flooring just needed some basic milling and is perfect for making the frame system I use for my small paintings. I made the landscape painting to go with the frame from a photo I took on a hike in Hartshorne Woods.

Great vid! You've given me something to do now with leftover wood flooring I've had laying around for years. Thanks!

We salvaged maple basketball court. Ran hundreds of linear feet four times through four different cutting/cleaning operations to recondition the wood. Installed it at church for the front Chancel (stage). Totally new floor. Has some bird's eye in it too. Great work you did with this cherry. Like to see wood used again.

I was walking along by your side every step in the video, thinking to myself "yeah, sure, I have done that before - no problem".
Then a canvas suddenly appeared and some kind of strange activity took place where a pigmented substance was applied to the canvas in what appeared to me to be a totally random way.
I must have sneezed at that time, because suddenly there was a picture on the canvas and I really had no idea how it got there.
Then the video ended, and I still don't now where the picture came from.
Well, I guess I could buy something from instead and skip the last and totally incomprehensible step and just order something from Amazon instead.
The style of frame looked good. I have some old leftover pieces of oak, and I know a place that could use one.
Thank you for giving me inspiration.

Thank you for your helpful videos on making frames. I make frames for my paintings sometimes. II need a new miter saw. I am reading reviews , confusing , can you recommend what I definitely should look for in a miter saw for these needs? Like single compound , 10 inch, or 12 inch. Looking for accuracy and not take up to much space. I do have a table saw to cut wide stuff. Thinking of a desalt? Again thanks for quality information
