Making Picture Frames from old Cherry wood flooring

- I made these frames using Cherry wood flooring that I've had laying around the barn for years. The wood flooring just needed some basic milling and is perfect for making the frame system I use for my small paintings. I made the landscape painting to go with the frame from a photo I took on a hike in Hartshorne Woods.

Something from nothing. Imagination and skill equals quality art. Thanks Jon.
those cherry wood floor planks cleaned up nicely and got upcycled in a most clever way, great job Jon
Jon...another clear, concise edit that really gets the point across. Thanks for sharing!
I like the diresta-ish style of the video. As always, excellent content.
Nice looking frames! That cherry wood is lovely.
Thanks for the video Jon. You work fast!
WOW! 😍 I love how you took something old and worn out and made it into something beautiful and useful. You are a man of many talents, Jon. Thanks for sharing them with us! 👍🏼
Great vid! You've given me something to do now with leftover wood flooring I've had laying around for years. Thanks!
We salvaged maple basketball court. Ran hundreds of linear feet four times through four different cutting/cleaning operations to recondition the wood. Installed it at church for the front Chancel (stage). Totally new floor. Has some bird's eye in it too. Great work you did with this cherry. Like to see wood used again.
Excellent! If given as gifts you have grateful friends!
Love this style just like I love the narrative videos. Much appreciation for sharing your [brilliant, gorgeous] process.
This is the editing style that works for your products/projects. Much improved and much enjoyed. Thanks.
Nice.👍
All that can be said is well done. Thanks for sharing.
awesome work, you are just a machine..
The artwork and the frames are beautiful. The video's tempo is superb.
I really enjoyed video.
Wow very very nice well done Jon👍
Fantastic!
I was walking along by your side every step in the video, thinking to myself "yeah, sure, I have done that before - no problem".
Then a canvas suddenly appeared and some kind of strange activity took place where a pigmented substance was applied to the canvas in what appeared to me to be a totally random way.
I must have sneezed at that time, because suddenly there was a picture on the canvas and I really had no idea how it got there.
Then the video ended, and I still don't now where the picture came from.
Well, I guess I could buy something from instead and skip the last and totally incomprehensible step and just order something from Amazon instead.
The style of frame looked good. I have some old leftover pieces of oak, and I know a place that could use one.
Thank you for giving me inspiration.
Good work!
That was an amazing video. The woodworking and the art both look great

Hi john,
what size of brad nails do you use for your projects especially this one?
I don't get how 18 people can dislike this video
You watch Diresta:-)
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Hi Jon, how do you cover up the brad holes on the cherry before adding finish?
After finishing with a wax fill stick
Thank you for your helpful videos on making frames. I make frames for my paintings sometimes. II need a new miter saw. I am reading reviews , confusing , can you recommend what I definitely should look for in a miter saw for these needs? Like single compound , 10 inch, or 12 inch. Looking for accuracy and not take up to much space. I do have a table saw to cut wide stuff. Thinking of a desalt? Again thanks for quality information
Okay, where do you find the time? What spray finish? Do you have to fill the nail holes from the pin nailer?
Thanks the finish is lacquer and I use a wax fill stick after finishing
You must have a bunch of art in need of frames.
