    Thanks for the spots about the name of the camera. The camera shown is, of course, the RunCam Thumb Pro but this tip works on any of the modern compact cameras that work on 5v..Happy flying!

      Hey mate could you assist me with something random, and not spank me by that means, I have a splashdrone that I use for fishing and it has a jiyi pro 2 controller, I want to replace with a naza v2 for simplicity, problem I'm having is I need naza mounted ^ arrow pointing forward to < this direction, is this possible and I believe if you can't answer this jesus can't either peace🤗

      @@Painless360 that's ok the drone flew away because I didn't know how to set the 3d throttle thing, I thought you had made a video on that but I couldn't find it, I like throttle in the centre so I can just throw the tx down in an emergency and not worry about the bird falling In the ocean, now back to square one for building another quad

    Looks good. I saved myself the trouble and used the iFlight BEC Power Supply Adapter made to power the naked GoPros and other cams. Then I swaped the power output side with what I needed. The advantage is it supports multiple cell counts and takes less work. It doesn't cost much more than a BEC.

      @@SilverbackSasquatch19xx that makes sense. I've only moved it between 4s and 6s. I don't have anything smaller that carries an action camera.

    Thank you,
    This video was helpful. As were your other videos when I built my first drone.
    I used a Voltage Step Down Converter DC 7-24V in 5V Out because I had it on hand

    love it a lot - even though I had nearly missed this one cause I was not so sure what it would be about cause I had thought it would be a kind step up or step down converter, but not a BEC using the charging connector. Really great and universal idea at least for all 2s and more cell batteries.
    I guess I would have watched it easier when I would have read about the BEC cause my first though was about the usual fc out. But this one is really great.

    I tried to power my Thumb from the 1s lipo directly, and it works fine even of 3,5 v. I have a small 600 mAh lipo, i think it will be enough for an hour or two recording.

  • @GuruGoesUTube
    @GuruGoesUTube Před rokem

    Built myself an adapter with a pololu yesterday. This is the only thing i do not like about this camera. Why didn't they put a step down in it? The 600mA pololu is so small, it would've easily fit in the thumb pro. Maybe they were like "but then we don't know the max input voltage of the step down!", but people usually do not use >6S.

    Any idea how long the RunCam Pro lasts for what size battery? Was thinking about using it on my bicycle too. Have seen a maximum current of 500mA but presumably the average is much less.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  Před rokem +1

      If you measure the current it pulls for the mode you want it to record in then it should be easy to calculate... Best of luck

    Is it safe to use it with Thumb Pro Wide v2 if my output (out of the BEC) shows 5.2V in my multimeter? I've plugged it into 6S LiPo's balance plug directly. Haven't connected my Thumb Pro yet, just making sure those 5.2V are not an overkill for this camera. What are your valuable thoughts on this? Thank you so much in advance!

      Jst a quick update. Today I've made this cable with MatekSys BEC, and the reading on my multimeter is steady 4.9V, sometimes jumps to 5.0V, and never above. Thumb Pro works perfectly fine powered from my 6s battery's balance lead. Thank you so much!

    Hello i just saw you made a video for a viewer, i really need some help with how i can connect mini osd with runcam thumb via pixhawk. And how can i connect a claw machine using an esc/bec/ubec or relay/buck booster to power it from main battery while i am using 3DR module, claw machine takes 12V and i want to control it through RC. Please help me out, i am setting up a hexacopter drone flamewheel f550 and sadly i bought a 3S battery 5200mAH coz i am beginner and don’t have much idea. I read somewhere 3S is best for beginners
