      Hi@@lifewithchris87,
      I'm glad it worked out well for you. It's important to keep in mind that hair transplant surgery by itself doesn't treat progressive hair thinning/ hair loss, so hair loss management is important after surgery. You're welcome,@@lifewithchris87. If you are male, you should at least talk to your transplant surgeon about a prescription for a DHT-blocker like finasteride, which actually slows progressive hair thinning, and can be used long-term more predictably than minoxidil. Coconut oil doesn't do much as a hair loss treatment. You can refer to these videos about the importance of finasteride in men, the limits of minoxidil, and why our TrichoStem Hair Regeneration patients can stop using minoxidil completely after our treatment:

      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Před rokem

      Hi Tre Payne,
      It is possible as the hair at the lower back of the head, and at the sides are genetically resistant to hair thinning. Genetic pattern hair loss also affects hair growth cycles, where there is a delay in regrowth after shedding, as well as slower growth. An examination is needed to see if there is progressive thinning in your scalp. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Jorge Inostroza,
      We don't currently offer the treatment in Canada, but Canadians are our most common international patients since those on the East Coast don't even need to fly in for treatment. Since it is a non-surgical treatment with little to no recovery time, and in many cases no additional treatment, you don't need an extended stay in New York or Virginia. Many patients actually get back on the plane or train, or drive back home the same day as treatment, but to be sure you could do this for a flight, I would assess your general health condition first. Some patients with advanced hair loss may get a second treatment 15-24 months after the first, which is done at no additional charge, and results for out of state patients are monitored through Skype, FaceTime, or email follow up. I hope this clarifies things for you.

      Sorry to hear about your problem. I suggest you have this problem examined by a local doctor. Even if you do have the genes for pattern hair loss in your family, 13 is too young for early onset of pattern hair loss. A physical examination is needed to confirm if there is an issue. Normally I would not recommend treatment to start at your age, but I haven't examined your scalp, so you do need a doctor to physically examine and diagnose the issue before treatment can be considered. I hope this helps you.

      The TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment is primarily for hair thinning due to male and female pattern hair loss. For issues like traction alopecia, and hair loss or thinning due to chemicals, we can only approach them on a case-by-case basis, and cannot state the same success rate as we do for pattern hair loss patients. I hope this clarifies things for you.

      Sorry, but the treatment has to be done in our office in the US as it is customized using PRP from your own blood, and the algorithm for custom formulation follows your own individual hair loss factors. Since it is a non-surgical treatment with little to no recovery time, and in many cases no additional treatment, you don't need an extended stay in the US. Many patients actually get back on the plane home the same day as treatment (under normal travel conditions), but I don't recommend this for everyone as it is dependent on general health condition and age. Some patients with advanced hair loss may get a second treatment 15-24 months after the first, and results for international patients are monitored through Skype, FaceTime, or email follow up.

      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Mihle Quthu,
      It's not clear by your description if there is an actual problem. Hair shedding usually doesn't require treatment, even if it is telogen effluvium, which is hair loss caused by stress. A doctor is needed when your hair is growing back thinner after shedding, or if there is a delay in regrowth. If you have an itchy scalp, this is a separate issue you can consult a dermatologist about. I hope this helps you.

      Sorry to hear about your problem, but you do need to have a scalp examination for a proper diagnosis of pattern hair loss. The genes for pattern hair loss can come from several generations from both sides of your family, so it is possible that you have them from a late family member you’ve never even met. A microscopic scalp examination can confirm if you have hair thinning caused by genetic pattern hair loss. I hope this clarifies things for you.

      It's not clear if your bald patches are due to you cutting your hair yourself, of if you have stress-related hair shedding in patches. If you are worried about it, you can have it diagnosed properly with an examination. However, it's important to know that bald patches are not caused by pattern hair loss, as pattern hair loss is gradual hair thinning, not sudden hair shedding, or sudden hair loss. I hope this helps you.

      Hi Sub Zero,
      Level of DHT-sensitivity differs among men. Men who are highly DHT-sensitive are affected earlier in life, like in their early 20s. Men who are less DHT-sensitive can start thinning in their 40s. Pattern hair loss also affects how long it takes your hair grow back after shedding, not just hair thinning. Generally, pattern hair loss and DHT-sensitivity affect men following the Rule of Decades: 20% of men in their 20s have it, 30% of men in their 30s, etc. I hope this clarifies things for you.

      It depends on the type of transplant you have, and how it is performed. If you have an FUT transplant, and without advanced surgical closure of the scar, the donor area scar would be more noticeable if you've shaved your head. FUE transplants can also leave small scars that are noticeable with a shaved head, depending on how the hair grafts were extracted by the surgeon. Hi aberash Sbhat,
      I suggest you have this checked by a doctor as 15 is too young to have a hair loss issue. It is normal to shed 50-100 hairs a day, and they do grow back. Pattern hair loss happens when the shed hair grows back thinner, and there is a delay in regrowth. I hope this helps you.

      Yes, the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment can help women with hair loss due to menopause. Estrogen does have a positive effect on hair growth, so estrogen supplements may also be needed. While I will do a future video regarding your specific question, you can refer to this one about treating female pattern hair loss, including hair loss due to menopause, that was published in October 2020 - czcams.com/video/lbngJ1a5GIw/video.html

      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Před 5 lety +2

      Hi rajesh arora,
      Hair transplants are not a permanent solution because alone they do not treat progressive thinning/hair loss of native hair, so finasteride is needed to slow thinning of native hair after a transplant. A treatment like Hair Regeneration is also needed to improve transplant results by helping to heal grafts and improve survival, thicken thinning native hair, improve healing of donor area, and stimulate growth from dormant hair follicles. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Před 5 lety +4

      Hi michael ghebrial-ibrahim,
      It's hard to stop using minoxidil because it delays hair shedding, and extends the growth cycle, so if you stop using it, you will likely have a sudden hair shed, and lose all that you gained from using it. Our Hair Regeneration patients can stop using minoxidil after their treatment, but some are weaned off it to prevent a sudden hair shed. You can consider a prescription for finasteride to slow hair thinning, which won't affect hair shedding from minoxidil, but it does treat male pattern hair loss more directly. I hope this clarifies things for you.

The treatment has worked for over 99% of pattern hair loss patients, so it will likely work for you. You may also need to take finasteride along with the injection treatment, especially if you are young, with early onset of pattern hair loss, and high DHT-sensitivity. Sorry, but the treatment will have to be done in one of our offices in the US. We do have patients coming every day (under normal travel conditions) from around the world to the US for the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment. Since it is a non-surgical treatment with little to no recovery time, and in many cases no additional treatment, you don't need an extended stay in the US. Many patients actually get back on the plane home the same day as treatment, but I don't recommend this for everyone as it is dependent on general health condition and age. Some patients with advanced hair loss may get a second treatment 15-24 months after the first, and results for international patients are monitored through Skype, FaceTime, or email follow up.

      Hi CANT BEAT ME,
      Hair can grow back if accidentally pulled out, as long as the hair follicles are not too damaged. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    Hi I’m 17 years old and I am African American , I have thick coarser hair , recently I have been stressing over school and have been lacking vitamin d , then I noticed a little bit of thinning on my crown , I was wondering if me lacking vitamin d was a reason why I was thinning a little bit on my crown and my hairline is pretty solid.

      Hi SZ AMNESTY,
      Vitamin D is important for hair health and growth, but it's not clear if it can actually cause hair thinning. I suggest you increase your vitamin D, which is actually very easy as you just need more sun exposure on uncovered skin, and then see if things improve. If things don't improve by the time you are 18, you should have a scalp examination for pattern hair loss. I hope this helps you.

      Hi Margaret Tetteh Paloma,
      If your son is already an adult, we can likely help him with this. The cost of the TrichoStem Hair Regeneration treatment varies with the extent of treatment needed. Cost of the treatment plan also includes the second booster treatment, if needed in advanced hair loss cases, as well regular follow ups to monitor your progress, either in our offices or through Skype, FaceTime or email. At its full cost, TrichoStem Hair Regeneration is priced at about half of a single FUT hair transplant, or about a third of an FUE transplant performed in the US. You can contact our offices or websites for a price range. Our offices are located in the US in Manhattan, New York City which you can call at (212) 265-8877; Garden City, Long Island at (516) 742-4636; or Vienna, Virginia at (703) 356-1336. You can also reach us through www.prasadcosmeticsurgery.com, www.nyhairloss.com, or www.trichostem.com by filling out a contact form, and we will get back to you. I hope to hear from you soon.

    Hello swear I had 3 quarter sized bald spots at the back of my afro and then a massive line at the back my head making my Afro look weird it’s been happening since yr8 now I’m in yr10 I don’t know what to do

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Před 3 lety

      Hi J1 2Sav,
      Your bald spots may be due to temporary hair shedding due to stress. Pattern hair loss is not associated with bald spots because it affects more general areas such as the hairline, mid scalp, and crown when hair in those areas grow progressively thinner after shedding, and there is a delay in regrowth. I hope this clarifies things for you.

      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Před 3 lety

      Hi@@piegonboy6687,
      Temporary hair shedding usually doesn't require medical treatment. If you happen to be affected by severe stress, shed hair grows back shortly after the stress passes. You can look into supplementation like biotin which is vitamin B7 for hair growth and health. I hope this helps you.

      Hi@@piegonboy6687,
      I'd have to diagnose the cause of your hair loss by examining your scalp. Stress-related hair shedding is all I could surmise with your description, so a proper diagnosis is needed before I make any specific recommendations. I hope this helps you.

    What about hairloss from lack of vitamin D. My hair fall out within a month or 2 causing thinning on the crown of my head and also at the front of my head. I done a blood test and it came back that my vitamin D level was really low. I’ve been taking vitamin D for 4 month now and can see abit of hair grown and my hair has gone thicker but am also taking viviscal for hair growth. Any advice to know if it’s genetic hair loss or because of my lack of vitamin D. My dad have a lot of hair and also my grandad has a lot of hair. my grandad didn’t lose hair Untill he got really old.

      Hi andre omar,
      If your vitamin D levels are now normal, and you are still experiencing progressive hair thinning, then there is a strong possibility you have genetic pattern hair loss. A scalp examination by an experienced doctor is needed to determine if you have male pattern hair loss. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    Minoxidil can aggravate thinning, is it true..??

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Před 5 lety +2

      Hi Bلa,
      Minoxidil won't thicken your hair, or stop hair loss, but it appears to delay the hair shedding cycle, and extends the hair growth cycle so you appear to have more hair on your head. You will have to use it daily to sustain these effects, but these effects can also decrease with time even if you use it daily. Despite not thickening hair, nor slowing hair thinning, minoxidil will not make thinning worse. Not taking a DHT-blocker like finasteride that slows hair thinning will make thinning worse, especially if you have a highly DHT-sensitive scalp. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    Do topical DHT blockers work?

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi Abrar Chowdhury,
      DHT is present in the bloodstream, so oral finasteride is more effective than topical. I hope this clarifies things for you.
