This is a really great video! Your voice is very calming, your explanations are not to drawn out and the editing feels natural. This video seemslike it was made by a much larger youtuber. Keep going!
As an owner of a living crab I can tell that's not how crabs move but I still love that animation. It's all very well made and pretty creative. Great job, you definitely deserve to be the winner
@@krownedking3369 honestly its likely one of those things you'd notice is wrong/off with the render at first glance, that said the scenario isnt really the most realistic anyway
recreating movement is really difficult because our brain absolutly is use to watch them with gravity effect so if an anymation isnt done with weight in mind its noticable right away look at cgi hero film its absolutly awefull xD the same we can say for fine movememt fine gesture that are really hard to do to
Your workflow wasn't "janky" or "bad" by any means. It was a very clever and amazing use of time and resources! Thanks for this breakdown, was very impressive to see how it all came together! And congrats again! :)
Mac book pro?! Everything you shared in this video was fantastic. This project encapsulates the idea of VFX and the trickery needed to almost fool the viewers with its beauty. Incredible work and workflow
Ive been learning about how colored people are ruining everything we worked for and we need to start putting them back in their place and take down the funny hat people for forcing this apon us
What I liked about your piece, is that everyone who opens blender, usually always deletes the cube first, but now you made that mother crab defend the cube/her babies, from anyone who wants to just delete it ^^
"its really janky but it works in the story" tis the way to do things. go with what's easy and what looks best from your camera angle, it doesn't matter what happens in the back end. you're talented, that render was awesome :)
I love the cut into the start of a new sentence which immediately had another cut with your continuing that same sentence. It made me think I was having brain lag.
I love that you just made a render you liked and then it actually won🤩 When I saw your render in the montage I was blown away by the detail in your render. So many moving things, so well lit and rendered. Now to hear that it was actually 15 samples and the children had the same animation😂 I love it so much! Favorite video of. The year so far😉 thnx for sharing
Hey a new blender user here, nice to see someone who isn’t a master at everything get to show how they did their work. Really inspires me to continue using blender as it’s difficult to learn nodes.
now this is a high quality youtube video, calming voice, music, well explained and it seems like you loved making this video, i hope to see more. maybe tutorials and blender related content.
Crabs are genuinely one of my favorite animals, so I definately will be checking out more of your funny little crab renders. This was gorgeous and I just think they are such funky little guys, I hope you’ll make more.
I think the reason you won is because of the way you approached the project, the way your mind works. Yes, you have great skill in Blender, but that's something that can be learnt, and improved on. Nobody can change the way your brain works. Definitely don't stop creating!
So impressed and loved that you immediately go around and share your „secrets“ and also point out the little cheats like the ocean (which I think is not cheating but just smart) and even recommending other CZcamsrs 😍 Would love to see more tutorials of you ☺️👍
Just shows experience and skill isn't enough to be the best. Even if some of the other commisions might've been better, your theme and idea for the cube turned out to be the most appreciated
I remember this video, never thought I’d encounter the cube challenge again loool. This was one of probably 5 I liked the most. I want to join one of these challenges in the future.
Awesome, great work! I love how you were really creative with the methods used, and managed to do it all on a laptop, really shows that good results just comes from being creative and a good artist.
This is great! Seeing your process made me realise that sometimes simple things CAN have alot of impact (like you using metaballs) I especially like the whole tropical vibe of the scene it's really nice, I actually participated aswell (the Jurassic park render) it was real fun making stuff with everyone, anyways congratulations on winning!
awesome stuff man! i noticed you have noise threshold at 0.01 in your render settings at 7:03. usually you can set it to like 0.1 or even higher without noticable quality loss and it speeds up your renders SO much faster. you probably already know this but saying just in case :)
I saw this clip a couple weeks ago and it just wowed me! You are just really good! The story makes it 10x better, wish you the best of luck in your career.
As long as your scenes are lit properly, low samples + denoiser will work fine although if you look closely it will be noticably bad compared to 200+ samples but hey 15 samples also is an option
No clue what you’re talking about or what a blending challenge is, but I thoroughly enjoyed this video! The spark in your eyes really shows your enthusiasm, keep it up :)
Very nice, doesn't matter if something is janky, if it works it works and this definitely worked the crab, in virtue of it being a meme on many facets, really did push it through tho
1) amazing galaxy brained tips n trix. 2) my guy. You’re so young. Its so inspiring to see you putting the work behind something like this. 7 years working professionally in multiple industries myself and you are just SO adaptive and good at lighting. Your crab rig was flawlessly simple. LOVE it. 3) Do you have a video on your specs lol. I’m old as dirt, lazy, and bummingly using a 2015 mac with no horsepower. I love toying with blender (started tinkering with it a year ago) and I really enjoy it.. currently I use nomad sculpt and blender when I want some more samples on things
Love how you worked around various complex problems with extremely creative and simple solutions. That water particle system was GENIUS!! That's what filmmaking is all about! Can't wait to see what you'll make next!
You're workflow is perfect in my opinion. You cut corners in all the right places, which is essential to get quality work out in a short timeframe. (except for the beach texturing bit) Making choices like that often shows that you either have many years of experience, or you're a bloody genius. Nice job!
What a lovely humble chap you are. Great animation and a deserving winner! Just goes to show that 'if it looks stupid, but works, it ain't stupid' is true in for 3D animation as it is for pretty much everything else in life. Bravo sir!
Fantastic video! I genuinely can't believe you've only got 1.9K subscribers! The quality of your videos is that of a true pro, the way it was put together, the story telling skills and the "how it was done" to top it all off. A masterpiece 💯💯 Just remember me when you one day hit 1M Subs ;)
Congrats dude 🎉 such a good render, it doesn’t matter if it breaks when changing angles u only need it for that angle, and you had a great/ well optimized workflow, I never would have thought of using metaballs as a water particle!
Great work mate! The only critique I have is the water looked a little unnatural around the rock, something you could have done was add some foam or something upon collision. Other than that, great work and congrats on the win!
Early 2023, his channel has 5 thousand subs, and this video 300 thousand views. I can guarantee that by the end of this year his going to be above 100.000 subs and working with a large youtube channel, something corridor digital likeish. Amazing work and seems to have and friendly personality. New subscriber from Argentina, love your work, and good luck this year Jasper.
Honestly i don’t know anything about all of this and I don’t know why I got it recommended but your voice is very calming and idk i sticked to watch the whole video, congrats!
Well done... its creative, original and looks great and that is the goal...who cares if it breaks after that lol...15 samples is crazy...you deserved to win
This video is very inspiring. I watched the challenge video with my family and your render was also our favourite! This is also a great video explaining it. Cheers from Barcelona!
