I'm still a Blender noob and ran into the same problems - so if I humbly may for those who might run into the same area of problems:
- When you were texture painting and it was showing up on the nose as well it's because the nose was (i think) a different object but shared the same material/image texuter as the body. You would've had to make a new image texture for the nose and then
- When you're modelling with the mirror modifier you can 'apply' the modifier (and basically any modifier) which then makes it so that any changes you make afterwards won't be affected by the mirror modifier.
- There's a Blender add-on called Rigify that comes with Blender and is free and it's an awesome way to 'rig' a character to post them for a scene. There's also Auto Rig Pro however it is a paid add-on.

You can also rig it yourself rather simply just using automatic weights if you look into it a bit. or paint your own weights so that the character doesn't deform in spots when you move certain bones
The other reason why the painting issue thing could had have happend is because you didn't UV Unwrap it! @@ritchiart

The most skilled blender user would never even claim to learn everything in blender in their life, nvm a week, I’ve been using blender for 3 years now and have learnt so little of what there is. Best program give to people online for free

@@StivensGameZone honestly, the one that learns on his own pace and enjoys the process is far better than rushing the learning process. And also what you said with the creativity is also is true in my opinion.
This add on is a must have for every blender user it’s called power save it’s free you basically enable it before starting a project and if blender crashes, it auto saves
Hey there, that was fun. The reason for the paint going on the wrong places is due to the polygons sharing the same space on the UV map. An easy way to fix this is to go into edit mode select the whole mesh, press U then select Smart UV Unwrap. Hope you keep up your Blender journey, it's an awesome software
There are so manny problems easy to fix by using 1 or 2 commands on the keyboard. How do people keep all these in their mind hahah.
I started blender last night, already half frustrated, combining it with game dev and sound engineering for it. But this has given me hope. I hope we hear some tutorials soon? :D

You can apply modifiers so after you're done using mirror, it won't continue to break both sides

I think I tried to learn blender 2 times and same as you once I got to something more complicated nd everything started falling apart id step away for too long and then I have to restart literally re-learning all the shortcuts from scratch. It's with everything ma boi. Every program you learn, doesn't have to be blender we have to suck it up and learn the INTERFACE, it's the most hated part IMO haha. I hope you'll get into it soon! ;)

Truly thankful for sharing your experience in using blender and studied for only a week. I've been trying to learn it by myself, but I always feel unmotivated to do it.

One thing I've found eases some frustration is just saving separate files very, very often so can revert when things inevitably go haywire on occasion.

I have yet to find a video that explains to me how to animate an existing picture, like a photo, with let's say, three or four moving objects. And I am very new, so I would need a very well explained tutorial. I welcome any links and advice. Thank you.

the modelling took about 3-4 hours yes but painting it and doing compositing maybe took 1-2 more, I don't rememeber xd

I always get a chuckle out of these people that say they learn blender in X days. I've been using it for close to 4 years now and I've barely gotten Beyond learning how to default Cube delete.
Daym man. The funny thing is if I would title the video "I Learned Blender for 1 Week" this comment wouldn't exist. But yeah I understand that you can't learn such a complex program in such a short period, that is on my behalf, I hope you enjoyed the video atleast :)
@@ritchiart Blender and computers are best for young people with a good memory and ability to figure out what to do with all those nodes. Put them in front of me, and I don't know where to even begin. My biggest problem is that I learn something in a tutorial on Tues and have mostly forgotten how to do that process by Thurs.

I just want to learn how to make a small family and extended family of characters, a house and its interior (fully furnished), and a small neighborhood with a store on the corner. I want to be able to have the characters walking down the street and doing certain other actions in- and outside of the house. Does anyone know how many hours such learning would take? I'm so busy with other things and I'm not sure if I have the time to learn Blender if it will take forever.

I thought to learn animation but many videos contain drawing, iam not good at drawing, so i felt its hard journey but thanks your video gave me some peace.
As someone who uses Blender on a daily basis for my own work it is quite impressive what you accomplished in so little time. However one tip if you had to remake this would've been to use an animation rig i know its a weekly challenge but with a simple rig like what you were using blenders weight paint could make it easy to manipulate the two human characters in your last scene.
