I love Deban fangirling all over the place and William trying to be rational. đ
đđ SAME!
Iâm trying to be both of them at the same time
Totally agree...
SAME! I'm living for Deban in this video. â€ïž Greets from Finland btw, it's so off to see people __outside Finland__ hyping TR that much.
After 1:30 this song catched everybody!!! Twelve Points from Germany!!!
When I first heard this I was not gripped by this but after listening to it a few times I get behind it. I could hear this on repeat for hours.
That the problem. It's a one shot.
The big part of ESC audience will discovering this song during the contest.
So it's a one shot. 3min. No more.
I agree the song is cool when you replay. But for the ESC we can't play and replay it.
@@leekorn3796 or this could be one of those songs that goes to ur mind and u try to find it again. You never know
I love this kind of song. Itâs not trying to be a big spectacle, itâs just a really good song and there should be more of them at Eurovision.
The Rasmus and Finland is my Winner of Eurovision 2022 already, no matter what, no matter what other songs will be presented from other countries, I will give them all my votes in May â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžđ„đ„đ„
đ
Me tooooooođ€
Deban representing the feelings of all of the The Rasmus fans as myself haha let's do thiisss
Yeaaaaahhh!!!!!!!!! Hahahahahha
Agree :D
I think people expected it to be heavier but this is their style and you can hear The Rasmus here and i love it
I'm with Deban, loving this song †Once a Rasmus fan, always a Rasmus fan. I do recognize like William those 80ties vibes (big and flamboyant productions, catching choruses etc.) Maybe Lauri did what I've and other fans have done with Jezabelle : gone to the roots of his early musical reminiscenice.
You may recognize those vibes since this was written by Desmond Child (with Lauri) and Desmond wrote Poison by Alice Cooper. Similar rhythms in this song! And it's not a bad thing.
DEBAN YAAAAAAS! I am here for your energy, I am feeling that energy, I am LIVING for that energy! I simply cannot stop playing this song, not only is the chorus incredibly catchy but the instrumental is incredibly catchy as well!! I thought I had slipped into a parallel universe when I first found out that The Rasmus had entered UMK and could be performing at Eurovision. I was so nervous to listen to Jezebel as I desperately didn't want to feel let down but I shouldn't of worried. It's now on REPEAT! please Finland! CHOOSE THE RASMUS!
I have to agree with Deban. I think this is one of my favourite songs from national selections this year. This song gets better the more you listen to it.
This is pure quality, addictive grower but not too heavy to scare the grandma. Accessible to people of any age. Will smash the televote.
I have never seen Deban too happy like this. I love this song, but maybe because I love the Rasmus and bring me nostalgic.
I don't understand William's reaction at all personally, to me this song absolutely slaps and I completely agree with Deban on this. Absolutely my favourite song of the national selections this year.
Not every rock song has to be heavy metal... rock is such a diverse genre and it's a great song within its own style of rock.
ABSOLUTE TUUUUUNE, go The Rasmus đ„
I am on the Deban's team :) Amazing song! Even I am a "pop guy" but this song sounds amazing. Second favorite so far after Rigoberta Bandini
As a rasmus fan I was so excited for this video and I was the same as William at first and then after a couple more listens youâre hooked liked deban
Hoping on the live stage it is a lot more electric
âĄïž đ„ đž Surely it will only elevate live!
As a The Rasmus fan I feel the same! )
My first reaction was like okay i love it đđ but then just the whole day listening this and the more i listen the more I'm into itđđžđžâŁïž
For me this song is a grower. I wasn't in love with it the first time I heard it but it's growing on me more and more everytime I listen to it.
Same for me. At first I thought it wasnt that great of a song but it growed on me later on after hearing it couple of times. The thing is it can be a problem if most others will have same reaction initally because in Eurovision you dont get that luxury. Im willing to bet this is gonna get to final no problem but in the final...im not too sure. Anyhow overall Im surprised how good almost all the Finnish songs this year were
@@Balnazzardi yes right that's what I thought, too. Excluding ESC fans usually people hear the songs for the first time during the semifinals, so a grower might not be a good thing to send. Hope my fellow Finns choose wisely.
Got goosebumps the first time I heard it!
Have to say that in addition to loving the song itself, I love the difference between your reactions - the one doubting and dubious, the other extremely excited đ
Haha, I love Deban! I also think this has the potential to do pretty well on the ESC stage.
The more I hear it the more I love it and the more it looks like a winner đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°
Rasmus really do perform!
I love this song! If The Rasmus represent Finland at Eurovision, I will faint from the excitement!
Loved The Rasmus as a teen! I really hope they get selected
This is a song that gets better after each listen, but in esc you only have 1 chance :( (since most people only watch the grand final)
The overall package here is over 9000, its soo freaking good
Holly cow! I grew up listening to these guys !! đ€© Iâd really like to see them at ESC! â€ïž
The song is so Rasmus and I think it would work with ESC!
Whatâs going on with William?? So critical towards the UMK songs this yearđđ
Yeah, I feel like Deban used to be the more critical one while William was excited about pretty much everything. đ
Honestly I agree with William especially with this song, Deban feels very bias with this track just because he likes the rasmus but I get why he automatically likes it đ
I (William) LOOOOVED Bessâs song. Iâm just so-so on the other two rock songs after the epic omg of Blind Channel last year I think.
@@Wiwibloggs but Blind Channel was quite Meh. Woof! Woof woof! :/
Childhood memories, I was 11 when In The Shadows released. When i found out they where going to UMK, i did not believe it. They are one of The biggest rockbands in Europe. Jezebel brings me back to those days. Will be a top 5 in Turin.
The Rasmus being the Rasmus might be working against them a bit here, because this is a really solid song that I like the more I listen to it, and I actually think it's a higher quality song than the two released before it, but it's not what I was expecting when I first heard it, and I was left underwhelmed as a result. A lot of listeners appear to be thinking the same. I'm keen to see if they have a more instant impact performing this live.
This is a genuine winner potential entry. They have the staging already made with the black and yellow concept, I can see this taking the trophy in Turin!
peoples expectations are insanely high, gonna be a similar situation to Ukraine last year where people hated it at first and it ended up doing extremely well.
It might win the Finnish selection but there's no way it would win the overall Eurovision without a rework. It's just a bit middle of the road. Nothing stands out and it gets a bit repetitive.
Greetings from Finland â„ïž
Best song of the season so far!
Debanđâ€ïž I'm with you!
okay rock my favourite genre 100% i love this soooo much i could play this one repeat and never get bored
Always the best reactions!
It's a good song, but as William said: it needs more power. I am a bit disappointed by this song, because I know they have better songs. But it's still a good song.
I totally agree with William. The expectations were so high for this song, I feel a little bit disappointed but Iâm sure this song will grow on me in the next days.
The Rasmus is bringing the camp, the drama and they ARE the moment
Deban â€â€
I love this song, it isn't heavy which makes it easier to listen to on repeat. You know what else I can listen on repeat to? Malena's Qami Qami. I really hope to see them during ESC đ
I'm with Deban. LOVE it! Go The Rasmus!!
Love from Greece & Cyprus đŹđ·đšđŸ
My favorite song so far
That's why I love Deban
I miss William and Deban reviewing the songs under the same roof, I love the videos it's not the same đą
UMK presenting good quality this year? You guys agree?
Rasmus all the wayyy such a grower !!
So agree with Deban!!!!
My winner s đ«đ«đđđ
I love you the rasmus đâ€đđŻđ„
This really reminds me of Green Day and I really like it. My second fave of UMK this year so far, out of all the songs that have been released for the competition. Agree with everything Deban said aside from it being my fave from the NFs, that honour goes to Cyan Kicks with Hurricane.
I kinda love it. Very rock ballad-ish. The song just needs a little bit more power.
It's a good song, amazing band... Let's hope for the best đ€đœ
I know thereâs mixed feelings on this one but Iâm down to back it all the wayâ we stan
Deban is me when I listen to that song. đ
I swear I have this and âHopeâ from Stefan đȘđȘ on replay every single day like 10x at least.
What's up with "hope" from Stefan recently! for me its really overrated, and I prefer "Remedy" from Elina. Also, there is so many other songs that is so worth it as well, not just this one!
@@vioretrykesdover2894 well I find âRemedyâ really boring. Itâs a song that goes nowhere imho.
And my reason to hype Stefan is that Im a sucker for wild west, cowboys and country music, even pop music with country elements.
Also, Iâve always loved Aviici, and this song reminds me of good old Aviici tracks.
And Iâve been rooting for Stefan since 2018, when I prefered his song âLauraâ over Elinaâs âLa Forzaâ. What are other peopleâs reasons idk, but this is mine.
@@agirlinabasementofyourdaddy I never said I didn't respect your choice, your music taste. I love country too, I just respectfully don't get the hype, but I'll be sure to try to have an understanding for the song, have a good life
Song is okay. People are right, this will do good playing with nostalgia. The only bad thing I found is that comparing with last year, I feel Blind Channel were more "powerful" or "impactfull" than them.
I totes agree with Deban
William rationalizing calm and collected while deban is on Mars.
I have a feeling William decited the fate before listening to the song though đ
This song obviously gonna dominate Eurovision this year, everyone with ears knows this :)
I would agree with Deban; its classy, even if it lacks the power that most people were expecting. I dont think its impossible by any means that they dont progress from UMK.
Yet again, I agree with William!
đ„đ„đ„đ„
Im with William, as someone seeing the rasmus for the first time I was expecting big things with all the hype but I was very underwhelmed, it feels quite lackluster compared to the other 2 so far. Like the message though and still a good song !
I think i would agree with William, it is a good song with potential but I canât say it stands out. Funnily enough i always thought âin the shadowsâ would make an excellent eurovision entry and here they are actually competing for the âgolden ticketâ which is âwowâ in itself! I will be listening to this but not sure if i wonât get tired more quickly than expected. Time will tell! Best of luck!
Oh Gawd Almighty. If The Rasmus wins the UMK, the ESC show will become just a The Rasmus concert for 3 minutes :D I hope they win, we need more rock in this contest †I wouldn't be mad if Bess wins because her song is very Erika Vikman-ish and I loved Erika in 2020, but Jezebel is my number 1 â€â€â€
Also I didn't know Deban is a metalhead too, wow :D
I love thissz
I'm rewatching the reaction to Finland Nationals and now realized that Finland might be choosing songs that can absolutely perform live
Like i can imagine Cyan Kicks, Bess, The Rasmus, Tommi, and Younghearted perform their songs better when live
I also like Issac and Olivera, but I'm having harder time imagining how they can perform better live...
Iâve mentioned it before: While I appreciate the situations when youâre sitting together, I like it even more when youâre sitting in different places and your reactions differ. đ
This is better than Cyan Kick to me! Probably because they are a very experienced band. Especially the singer. And i love the yellow/black in the MV they made
I didn't follow umk, so this is a interesting surprise!
I agree with Williams oups
If this wins, we got ourselves the first potential winner for EV 2022
Alot of people agree that this is shaping up to be the best national selection this year yet William has been quite critical so far aha. Its usually Deban being the critical one. It definitely takes a few listens though :)
I am from Finland and even though I like The Rasmus' music but I guess this is okay song but I wouldn't vote this if there are other artists in UMK but this is nice to hear . Over all I like this.
If you want to loose... Like all past years...
I am with William. It didn't meet my expectations.
Milloin ryyppÀÀmÀÀn ja sekoilemaan Hjalliksen ja Jethron kanssa?
aaw The Rasmus :)
Deban would be tearing this apart if he wasn't a fan đ€
I think this is one to watch..wait for the live performance.?..im loving †this..written by Desmond Child's.?ge wrote Bonnie Tyler's Eurovision song
They are terrible in live singer is grandpa age 42.
@@johnnyweismuller6895 42 is nowhere near being a 'grandpa'. Get out of here with your ageist BS.
@@sav0001 it is grandpa age in music and tennis also when you turn 35.
@Johnny Weismuller If 42 is grandpa, what is 78 then? Thatâs age of Mick Jagger and he is still performingâŠ
Im def team Deban
I love in the shadows a lot but Jezebel not so much. I'm team William heređ
Please react to Australia decides as well guys! Voyager- Dreamer is a banger!! Winning contender if we send it!! đ„đŠđșđ€
I agree with William. The chorus needs more power.
Bit devo with this track. Loved The Rasmus back in my teens in the 00s, but not vibing with this at all. The colour scheme was the only thing I appreciated.
LOL. Didn't expect The Rasmus at all. Big fan of Finnish rock and metal music, but The Rasmus is too "pop" for me. But I remember them from 2000s. Also, check out their "October & April", with one of Nightwish ex-vocalists. I wish HIM, or The 69 Eyes, or Nightwish go to Eurovision. Nightwish even tried once, in 2000, but now all those bands are too popular. Besides, HIM is disbanded, and I can't imagine Nightwish making 3-minute song nowadays, now they're all about 10-15-mintues multipart masterpieces.
Speaking of other countries, I wish The Netherland send Within Temptation, that would be an instant win.
Hey did you hear that YLE says it won't sent an artist to the Eurovisions if Russia is let to participate? It might be that none of the UMK contestants will go to Eurovisionsđ
Finland will go to ESC, Russia is out. Confirmed by EBU today,
@@juneau2542 Yes EBU did the right decision đđđ
I was also waiting for something a bit stronger, more powerful. Or, at least, Ylönen's voice used in more versatile way. IMO, the songwriter has been cutting corners with this one. I am also wondering 'Jezebel' since there are soooo many songs called like that. - About strong women? I do not think so, more like about narcistis behaviour or submissive dreaming :p
They, all of them, however look good. I do not say this is not good - it just misses something.
Lauriâs ex-wife is the real hit maker! Check Vesala and her (Paula Vesala) credits.
Paula Vesala will be one of the hostesses of the UMK 2022. It will be interesting if she will be the one to pass the trophy to her ex-husband Lauri and his band, the Rasmus
At first, I thought it was a bit ... pedestrian, and as William said "cliched". However, once it gets going, it really does take the roof off. So yeah, apart from taking a minute to get going, it's quite good.
I prefer Cyan Kicks though.
I really believe Hurricane has a higher chance to win than Jezebel because the latter song is composed partially by Desmond Child, who is late in his recording career. Desmond was at Eurovision once before in 2013 and his song (Bonnie Tyler's Believe in Me) was able to beat the song that was partly composed by Tony Cornelissen (which was the Cascada song Glorious) in the rankings, but it still performed very poorly, and I think sending Jezebel to Eurovision will yield a guaranteed worse result. On the other hand, Hurricane was partly composed by Chris Walla (the former guitarist of Death Cab for Cutie) and Elize Ryd (the lead singer of Amaranthe), and such a collaboration between two figures that are new to Eurovision is usually assigned to emerging artists. This formula has proven well for many singers who went to place in the top 10 in the contest since the semifinals began in 2008.
âHurricaneâ is cheap likeâŠ. Cmon. What do you all see on that song?
First I wasn't impressed, but now I love to listen to this. The production level is insane. A bit embarrassing the "MĂ„neskin moves" in the video.
What Maneskin moves?đ That is The Rasmus. I think Maneskin copied The Rasmus not the other way around. Maneskin has told they were infuenced by Finnish rock bands.
They are 'Rasmus moves' , see some of their older videos and you'll see
this gives me some vibes of The Ark (Sweden 2007).
When you react to these songs, you should try doing it together via facetime or zoom so that the video would make more sense?
We prefer to react separately as not to bias the other person.
Definition of Jezebel
1 : the Phoenician wife of Ahab who according to the account in I and II Kings pressed the cult of Baal on the Israelite kingdom but was finally killed in accordance with Elijah's prophecy.
2 often not capitalized : an impudent, shameless, or morally unrestrained woman.
Deban - really, this song is trite and you know it. No doubt, you love the guys but please keep it real.
I'm with Wlli this time. I feel like it lacks of power and contundency. I expected domething more wow from The Rasmus.
Sorry but iâm on williamâs side. They deserve to go thatâs for sure. Itâs good even though itâs not my cup of tea, and they would give a cool show liveâŠBut i donât know. The lyrics are reaaally sooooooo clichĂ©. Maneskin did it 200% for me last year, but the RasmusâŠ.mmeeh..not sure.
Hurricane > Jezebell
But I think Bess is my favorite at the moment.
I agree!! I usually really get attached to the rock entries, but these two weren't as powerful as I had hoped. And then there's Bess with just a lot of personality and kick, so I just really enjoy that one :))
Mmmm this song is memorable but I donât like the lyrics so much đ€
Deban's worshipping big names is hilarious but very sad at the same time... he never misses to question why some big names have to go through national selections and some unpopular artists are sometimes chosen internally. And his overwhelming reactions to big names... Thankfully, almost every big name flops at Eurovision unless they have a really good enough song, as it should be.
The song is very middle-of-the-road with quite weak lyrics (just like with Cyan Kicks) that have nothing to do with strong independent women. If they win UMK with this just because of their brand and don't do any revamp it will be a disappointing but deserved result at Eurovision
I'm with team William. It's underwhelming.
