@Clash of clan India nice joke. Best place to celebrate each and every festival is mumbai be it diwali, holi, ganpati festival, navratri. I have been to ayodhya in diwali and let me tell you it is not on the scale of mumbai. People from all around the world, live in mumbai and when you see them celebrating festivals here in their different traditions or ways it gives you the vibe of togetherness. And let me tell you whole coastline of mumbai gets decorated during diwali which looks so good with sea especially at churchgate.

One of the best vlogs I have seen till now on Deepawali ( Deep=Light, awali= row = Row of lights) . Celebration of Deepawali originated in ancient times when Lord Rama returned to his Kingdom (Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh State) after conquering and vanquishing the Demon King Ravana in Lanka. Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya on one of the darkest nights of winter and people of Ayodhya welcomed him with Deeps, rather row of lights and thus the origin of the word Deepawali- which has got corrupted to its shorter version of Diwali.. Other religions celebrate it for various reasons but the core philoposphy is that which is narrated in the epic book Ramayana . If you have time while in Delhi, you can go to Ayodhya and Varanasi and see the essence of HIndusim reflected in day to day lives of people there. Still I am very happy you guys got the profound Immersive effect of Deepawali in Mumbai and the modern day lighting of electrical lights has taken it to a new level. LIke you said- the fireworks where you are participants is way more enjoyable and exciting than what you found in Canada - still one has to be careful of wayward rockets or misfiring crackers which cause injury . .. Thanks for huge smiles you had - the vlog was one very interesting enjoyment for me sitting in Delhi !!!

You should have gone to UP for Diwali. Mumbai doesn't have an intense diwali, they celebrate Ganesh chaturthi better but for festivals like navratri, mahashivratri, Diwali, holi, govardhan puja, janmashtami etc u should go to Uttar Pradesh. They have some real intense celebrations which can also go on for an entire month sometimes.

This is actually modern Diwali celebration. Diwali is about going to temple, lighting deeps, doing pooja, decorating homes buying gifts and jewellery doing charity according to your ability and meeting friends and relatives and then this is kind of the last part of celebration.
