  • In this exhilarating CZcams video, join me on an unforgettable journey to Mumbai, India, for the vibrant Ganesha Visarjan festival. As I embarked on my adventure, I encountered incredible individuals along the way, each sharing their unique stories and experiences.
However, nothing could have prepared me for the awe-inspiring spectacle of the Ganesh procession. The sheer magnitude of the crowd was astonishing, and I found myself caught in the whirlwind of joyful chaos, being pushed and pulled by the enthusiastic devotees.
Amidst the pandemonium, the air resonated with the rhythm of drums, and we danced in celebration. It was a day filled with unexpected surprises and unforgettable memories.

Seems like the western media has indoctrinated the auspicious sentence of "Jai Shree Ram" to the point of fear, disgust and uneasiness. Please do not believe in it, if by any chance you have fear that it is a political slogan for the right wing Hindu nationalists only, then you are wrong. It does not have any linkages to any fascist , right wing agenda. The media will not tell you this, but even the left, centre any political party or even normal civilian of India can chant Jai Shree Ram it has no conotation attached to it.
God Ram is not political my friend, he is God and so has nothing to do with any of it. So do not be so fearful in chanting it in response to others if you want. As a viewer your apprehension to it can easily be felt. So dont worry about it you wont be called right wing sympathiser all of a sudden. However it is understandable that cancel culture and misunderstandings on internet is hideous so the uneasiness in you cannot be labelled as completely nothing to be in fear of.
You will be surprised to know that many muslims, christians, sikhs etc. also take part in this festivals even Ganapati festival, Durga Puja etc.
The slogan of Jai Shree Ram along with the so called right wing political affiliation is a completely different matter, in different context most importantly it is specially made in political rallies or something political. However in this case it is NOT at all a political scenario.Be free.

Thank you for this very clear explanation, it’s just difficult to determine exactly when it is a political slogan versus when it’s innocent religious praise hence why I decided to steer clear 🤷🏻‍♂️

People ask him to say ganpati bappa morya, he says it, people ask him to say jai shree ram, he sometimes has issues saying it sometimes not.
I’m totally confused why he’s attending religious festivals at all.
Navratri and Durga Puja are all religious events. It’s best he just does touristy things and stays away from religious events altogether.

One curiosity. I wonder Why Phil rfused to say Jai Shri Raam when Lord Raam who is incarnation of Vishnu Bhagwaan was also praised by Lord Ganpati. If Phil can answer this elabirately then much thanks and appreciation

My understanding is that Jai is interpreted as both ‘hail’ and ‘victory’.
The word victory is what I have a problem with. I understand that it can be viewed as communal, particularly by Muslim communities and people in Pakistan but also Christians.
I’m very very happy to take part and chant things which involve praise of Hindu and other gods, but when there are religious statement which suggests that one god is better than another, in any religion, I will try to avoid saying these things because I don’t believe any religion should compete with others to be the ‘victorious’.
I do enjoy hearing people shouting it in support of their own god but I’d prefer not to make statements that might offend groups wherever possible, within reason, and I don’t feel the need to chant anything that I don’t feel comfortable with given I don’t subscribe to any particular religion anyway so I’ll decide the level of cultural / religious immersion I’m comfortable with taking into consideration other communities.
Hopefully this makes my position and rationale clear ❤️

It doesnot mean victory. It does mean hail, praise, respect - any of these words which really donot put down any other religion. It has unnecessarily been given a communal bend and I think you should know the full meaning before deciding if something is offensive or not. In fact its offensive you avoid saying it because you accepted the mainstream leftist propaganda of it being offensive @@philbland

      @philbland  Před 8 měsíci +8

@@shellily like I said, I don’t find it as offensive when Hindus say it but I don’t need to say anything I don’t want to say, and that’s that 🤷🏻‍♂️ and I find it offensive when people get annoyed at me for not saying what they tell me to say so we’re going round in a particularly vicious circle that is a waste of energy so best to just enjoy the video 🙏🏻

@@philbland First thing first, I must thank you for reading my doubt and satisfying my curiosity with such a prompt clear and to the point reply.
And now coming to your answer. I think you got confused. Jai here means to praise. 'Vijay' is the word which means victory.
So when we say Jai Shri Raam we are not saying May Lord Raam be Victorious over other faith or one God is better than other and what not, we are simply praising the Lord. There is no comparison here.
If I praise my father doesn't mean I am belittling my mother. It's not a mutual exclusive set rather it's mutual coexistence. Also, I do understand you don't have any religious views and inclination yet you are so humble to celebrate our festivals and participate in our Lord's Pooja.
So I know this part of you hence I was confused why he refused to say Jai Shri Raam, may be he took it for something else. So it's not victory of One God over other or one God superior to other Gods and religion.
It simply means we Praise the Lord for his benevolence and ideal life with examples he led. Yes Dusshera which is coming on 24th October 2023 is celebrated as victory of Good over evil(not God but demon).
I hope I could give you some clarity about it and it helps. I will leave it upto you to chant "Jai Shri Raam" or not but for we Indians especially North part of India where I belong to Lord Raam is considered very holy and duty bound.
We say here "Raam se badaa Raam ka naam" symbolically meaning even by taking Raam's name you will find salvation and it will bring you peace happiness and contentment, peace which we are seeking for but few live it.
      Take care of yourself, Phil.

    Hi Phil,
    Jai Shree Ram 🙏
Good to see you in the immersion procession of lalbaug cha raja. Though you struggled a bit in the crowd perhaps you enjoyed as well on tune of Swaranjali Band (Lalbaug) who gets the honour to play the band for rajas procession from last 70 years.
Would request if you can edit your statement "Foreigner struggles though enjoys along with the lalbaugcha raja immersion procession crowd" this would sound bit positive.
    Thank you
