As a tourist just for safety purpose always note the tuk tuk licence plate number or the taxi licence plate number before you get in. Most of these drivers are honest and will return your stuff if they find you. But if you know the licence plate number it will help both you and the cops to find the vehicle and the driver and your stuff. I'm glad you found your phone.

You know it's crazy people in Mumbai are very honest & will help you out no matter what , my friends dad is a policeman who worked in almost every state of India at the railways he himself said Mumbai people are the most honest & helpful nature people. More than half of the stolen phones or any passengers belongings are brought to the police station by the people themselves . Thats why they say Spirit of Mumbai glad you got ya phone
