Further government and many private companies offered to get these people proper living space and re-develope the space, but these people want to live in the heart of the city and not move away. This is what happens in a democracy, if not this place would have been cleared ages ago. The land doesn't belong to them anyway, these people have villages where they come from.

I used to feel bad whenever I visit my home country, The Philippines. But now I just appreciate what I have and don't take anything for granted. Yes, there's alot of poor people living in slums all over the world, but that's just how they live. They don't know anything outside of where they live other than what they see on tv or on the internet. Don't feel bad for them because they don't feel bad for themselves... it's normal everyday life for them.
