    I think conflagration deserves a little more credit. The ability to roast a horde or stun-lock a patrol with precision without having to worry about allies blocking LOS is very useful. Definitely more control than damage though.

    • @ipamat9127
      @ipamat9127 Před rokem +1

      Conflagration is literally her best staff on BW. You have huge horde destroying, staggering attack, yet ability to snipe specials from afar. It HAS damage, yes huge amount of utility. This guy is out of his mind lmao. Gotta love people repeating whatever is generally considered meta because other youtubers say so.

    • @Navihurricane
      @Navihurricane Před rokem +2

      @@ipamat9127 Conflagration staff is definitely good in terms of CC, it's like the trauma staff for Darktide, except the trauma staff actually kills things while the conflag staff tickles things to death. It has unparalleled utility, this I agree on, but damage wise it is so outclassed that a fireball staff can stagger while doing more damage. Your 40s ult also exists and can easily melt a patrol and mixed hordes in a pinch dealing massive damage while staggering and giving you more time to reposition into a better spot, why control a patrol when you have a nuke on 40s cooldown?
      In terms of C3DWONS, the conflag staff serves zero purpose as the entire point of onslaught is to kill things fast and efficiently, both which the conflag staff lack.
      tl;dr It's a good staff, just outclassed.

    Flaming sword with its super high temp health gen and stagger is just the perfect pair for Coru staff on BW. No need for Armor damage since you boil them all inside their armors with staff anyway.

  • @wundsaltz1114
    @wundsaltz1114 Před 2 lety +31

    11:45 The dagger applies far less fire dots than the flaming sword does, which is why the latter is generally a better pick for famished BWs in my opinion.
    The dagger is still one of my favorite weapons as well though. The mobility and versatility it provides are outstanding.

      @SmGTwist Před 2 lety +2

      On Battle Wizard: 1-2-3-1-1-3
      I believe BW makes the best use out of Coruscation with Famished Flames. She just does obscene amounts of damage to everything with it
      On Pyromancer: 1-2-1-1-2-2
      In my honest opinion, Coruscation is probably weakest on Pyromancer, but if you build run at high overcharge and then proc Deathly Dissipation by ulting a special, you can primary fire into anything for 10 seconds of free casting with high crit chance. That's how I'd use it.
      On Unchained: 2-1-3-2-2-3
      Coruscation is a monster on Unchained. It is inherently easy to manage overheat with it and keep her on high overcharge to then swap out and do beefy damage with her melee weapon. One of the best 3 staves to use on Unchained.

    • @wundsaltz1114
      @wundsaltz1114 Před 2 lety

      Famished Flames doesn't actually increase the dot damage of Coruscation for whatever reason. Lingering Flames just ruins the DPS of the staff which leaves you with Volcanic as the only viable option in that row. While it hardly provides any benefit, since you don't want to fully charge corus anyway, it at least doesn't do any harm like the other two options.

      @@wundsaltz1114 famished does increase it actually. Coruscation has 3 dots and one applies when an enemy moves out of the fire. This one is affected by famished flames. I'd recommend that talent anyways just for the huge damage increase with firesword/firewalk.

    I constantly run the Crowbill on Pyro and Unchained (i only play legend), because it just works well.
    I tend to always play Support as Sienna, regardless of career, and I find that these two careers just shine immensely with the crowbill. At high levels of Overcharge, Unchained is dealing so much damage that every attack kills a mob, whereas Pyro is critting on nearly every attack and flailing her weapon like crazy, so it works.
    Against Chaos Warriors and Stormvermin it melts them away.

    • @GustavoBondezan
      @GustavoBondezan Před 6 měsíci +1

      Pretty much. Beam Staff with Famished Flames is a good boss killer, specially with the trait that increases power with consecutive attacks. You'll want to stick your beam for 4 ticks of damage, then right click and repeat. Or even ignore the right click and go for more beam DoT. However, there are better staves which cover multiple situations.

  • @kalzekdor
    @kalzekdor Před 2 lety +2

    Something people underestimate about the Flamestorm staff is its stagger potential. You can stunlock Stormvermin or Maulers with the secondary fire stream and just slowly melt them, particularly useful in mixed hordes, as you can clear out the trash at the same time. Due to its effectively infinite cleave, it's stronger the more enemies you're facing. It has almost no super armor damage, and not great boss damage, but that's what teammates are for. (Although, a well-timed Strength potion will give you the armor penetration you need to solo a chaos patrol.) Flamestorm has one job, and it does it really well: lock down an area. Some good positioning will take a ton of heat off your team (and give it to the rats). It's my favorite Sienna staff, and the only major downside in my opinion is the fact that it reduces visibility so much. (Which is why you always, *always* spam tag while shooting out the firestream.)

      @Straddock Před 2 lety

      That's kind of the beauty of a lot of the design of this game, is that all weapons are viable. However the downside of the design to this game is that there's lots of systems to account for. The Flamestorm excelling at something that all the party should be capable of as well as possibly denying your zealot, warrior priest, foot knight etc their temp HP gain could mean a lot. I've used drakefire ironbreaker, it's been good to absolutely hold a chokepoint when things are tight. But it could be argued that things wouldnt be as tight if they hadn't been able to get so close, you know? Ultimately it's the playstyle that works for you.

      Due to all of these AoE options Sienna gets even stronger as the enemy density increases with higher difficulties.
      BW is (one of the?) best careers for Cata and beyond. I think Bolt staff is also the only weapon which can reach all special body-shot breakpoints on Cata3 without external help (e.g. WHC tags). The tourney balance mod, which is often used in the modded realm, BW has been nerfed fairly signifanctly (e.g. the ult cooldown is far longer).

    Bolt is okay for sienna but as soon as more options for special killing are introduced it just sorta dies. Handgun and crossbow is much much better on higher difficultys because of the lack of long ass channel time. Basically sienna has the worst special sniping so it's better to stick to massive dps. Bolt isn't bad but isn't super flexible especially in tight spots

    • @sapphiresage5339
      @sapphiresage5339 Před 2 lety +4

      I agree, it bugs me that Bolt staff gets so highly recommended all the time even though its a relatively subpar special sniping weapon compared to other characters while simultaneously stripping away Sienna's identity as a ranged character specialized in anti-horde damage. Its not as though Bolt staff is bad mind you, it does plenty of damage to kill specials and hammer at elites, but compare the charge time on the average Bolt Staff shot compared to Handgun/Crossbow just pointing and clicking and then reloading when its convenient, or Elf pointing her Longbow/Moonbow and letting loose a couple of arrows and Sienna lags behind quite a bit as you have to account for remaining charge time on top of your reaction time to start charging the shot. Its a last ditch special sniper for if you have a team of Trollhammers, GF BHs, and Hagsbane/Swiftbow Kerellians not a go-to for Sienna. Meanwhile, her other staves do so much better at anti-horde while also being just barely usable at special sniping save for Coruscation and Flamestorm (Her two best at anti-horde no less). If someone starts trying out Sienna like the other characters and uses Bolt staff and focused mainly on melee with occasional special sniping instead of focusing on what makes her unique and setting fire to large hordes with her other ranged staves and using melee to aggressively vent, then she's going to feel like a lackluster, sluggish version of everyone else instead of the fire crazy queen she is.

    • @sobbo123
      @sobbo123 Před 2 lety

      It's fine if you start charging as soon as you hear a special, or use rechannel for faster charging. Bolt staff scales better on higher difficulties (cata to cata3). It's used all the time in modded realm because it hits so many breakpoints easily that xbow/handgun don't. So you don't need to shoot twice and wont run out of ammo.

      @jpkurihara Před rokem +1

      Late reply but I've been having a lot of fun with Mace on UC. Get cleave THP and the level 10 talent that increases attack speed at high OC, then get as much OC as possible with your staff (Coruscation is my pick) then go wild.
      For Elites, Light and Heavy 1 are both downward swings that are excellent for headshots and with your power increase it will likely only take about 2 of them to kill most of the big boys, and it's also pretty easy to block reset it so it won't take too long (CWs will need 3 or possibly 4, I'm sorry I don't know the exact breakpoints).
      For hordes, you can use Push Attack -> Light 2 > L3 > L4 and repeat for constant sweeping attacks with massive cleave on unarmored or Push Attack > repeated Heavies (Heavy 1 is the bonk but past that it will always repeat Heavy 2 > Heavy 3 unless you reset, which are also big sweeps for crowds.)
      The only thing it's not really good at is bosses, you should use corus staff for those but at least with enough stacks of your passive you will still deal okay damage to them.
