I felt your pain when you couldn't get the fitting on, we've all done things like that!
My goto bulkhead is the JCC Rapidfix, once you've fitted one, you would never go anywhere else! Can change it in 5 minutes!

Pub jobs are always a mess
& restaurants are not much better either
Sometimes we electricians think it's a small,tiny job,but turns out that sometimes small jobs get longer hours...😂
It used to be said that there are no just jobs

I’ve used the first fitting at work. i’ve used a 20mm hole saw and longated a slot so the cover spins on 👍

That first light fitting is great, I use those but as soon as I saw conduit I thought oh no its not gunna screw on... JCC radialed are the solution as the white cover pushes on so you can make a cutout for the conduit and then push it on...
Yeah 🤣I didn't notice until I tried to put the cover on, and I was so pleased with myself before that.
Been looking at your videos since I once considered becoming an electrician (Now IT) and I must say I can understand the frustration of the fixture not fitting but I think you've done an excellent job dealing with the issue and that light fixture should now last many years hopefully. Certainly would satisfy me at the end of the day.
So basically you don't have the grades and intelligence to become a fully qualified electrician. Stick to your computer
The only mistake you made was saying you have a nice easy job before you started.🤦♂️ You should only say that afterwards when you have finished 👍

A Thorn Lara is my choice of bulkhead light fitting, perfect for almost all situations. It has a small flat spot on the side for a 20mm hole, it would have been perfect for your job.
Why not just make a cut out with your multitool, you'd hardly notice it and would have been a much faster option
I once fitted a light on a ceiling I forgot about the cupboard door...funny
I did that. Mounted the light too high and the cover would not go on. Was a freezing day as well. Had to redrill the fixings. I must add, it was at my home, not a customer. Still annoying.

In this pub there's no loud music only a piano. Apparently its packed whenever the Arsenal are at home.
That was crying out for a short length of plastic pipe and a stop end box, you could have got the cover on then and fitted a blind grommet. Saved buying another new fitting.
Yeah such an easy fix that
If you struggle to cut 6” of plastic pipe and screw a stop end box to the wall I worry how you’d cope on a big job….
How much would you charge for that job Delroy?
I thought by going wrong meant that you had drank 8 pints of Guinness and went through a box of Tayto's and staggered home at 3 in the morn ;o)))))
I’m not a sparky so this is probably a dumb question but why not cut a small hole so that the cover fits?
The covers twist on with those lights.
Fittings have to be installed properly, If it doesn't fit correctly get one that does.
Liked the way he tries to force it on lol….maybe you should take up plumbing or even painting ….🤔

The Van is all good repairs all done I take all tool and drills of every night. Right pain but I cant take the chance.

they've got their uses but never use them to prove circuits are dead
Proves its live but doesn’t. Prove dead, but you might be if you rely on that!
Useful for tracing cables. Never use to prove dead, even proving live can give false results sometimes. Always use a 2 pole tester and proving unit to prove dead.
As above ☝and make sure you buy a decent one one, not the glowing screwdriver type.
Funny thing I've never used it like that before. Once you know what you are doing its all good. Only do what you feel safe doing.
