    Your only testing the switch lines, there has to be a junction at every fitting, you was only testing switch line cores from the junction.
    Find the supply in and out of every fitting then bang your IR then you would of found your faulty cable

    Thank you. Great video. Im an apprentice electrician, would you be able to talk through your thought process when going through things? Im dumb, and cant link things at the moment without background knowledge. If you could id be able to get loads more from your videos. Thanks again.

      @@Mainly_Electricalnot a bad shout pedro the boys show a good bit of testing and earthing arrangements. Good for apprentices because i no myself unless your with certain company's youll never get a look at testing. Anyway best of luck and think about the concept of electricity how it flows and what is resistance (R) and impedance (Z) best place to start 💪

    Soooo you rewired the house but left the loft conversion circuits and re fed them off your new db? Why did you carry no testing out on the loft conversion circuits to prove that they was suitable to be re-energised for continued use? As there was clearly a lot of even basic remedial action necessary that even a visual check should’ve picked up on

    @elitekillerish Před 4 měsíci

    It’s more likely, they’ve wired from sweater switch with supply cables and switch and neutral to each light. I would’ve checked the switches first.

    Is it me or most of them fitting are only SL+N that your testing and PL+N 2 plated at the switch?

    • @nickryan3417
      @nickryan3417 Před 8 měsíci

      The fitting should be, but if the light switch is switched to the on position then testing at the fitting -should- be live and neutral testing. Quicker than trying to fish out the junction boxes that the cretin who hammered these electrics into place will have hidden and sealed in the ceiling space.

    The problem was in one of the fitting and that was taken off at last but how comes when you took off initial fittings and they came back ok with IR and you put them back to go and find another?

      It's not ideal but quite acceptable. However, the cretin who hammered these electrics in place will undoubtedly have clipped off the earth cable rather than connect it.
