- Hey Designers! In this video, I’m going to show you my top 8 tips to jumpstart your event designing business. These tips will help you get your first client because getting your first client as an event designer can be difficult. It can be difficult to get your first client as an event planner as well. With these tips, you will learn the first steps on how to book your first client, how to find your client or more clients and how to get clients.
As an event designer, getting more clients while becoming an event designer/planner is ideal for your business. These steps are the steps I took on how to become an event designer (and it can help how to become an event planner as well). If you use this event planning tips to become a party planner or designer, you will be successful in your business. Just think of this video as a course called “Event Planning 101”.

Finding your niche is SUPER important!
I am a certified Healthcare Interpret for Português, Spanish and English. But I was hired to be a Ceremonialist at a 15th Birthday party and then another mother hired for a sweet 16th and found out about all my balloon work. I mean all the baby shower and Birthday parties that I was doing for free. SHE HIRED ME!!! I am so happy!!! I already have another job for a marriage conference. Oh my God I am starting my balloon business 🙏🙏🙏😁😁😁😁 Thank you so much for inspiring me and giving me the courage to charge for my work🥰😚

Thank you so much for these videos! They really do help in opening eyes for people who didn’t think too in depth. I have a question though, would renting/decorating backdrops and that only, be a good business to start or would one need to do more? Thank you in advance.
Hi Jessica, yes you can have a business that rents/decorates backdrops. I tell my designers to focus on one thing, scale that, then add more to the business.
You give so much great advice on everything. I appreciate you. I do have a question. How can i find the big letter blocks that are made into tables on this video? How can i find big numbers that large? Or did you make it yourself?
Thank you! The big letter blocks were custom-made by my husband (he's so handy) and the large letters were purchased from an outside vendor. But there are tutorials on YT to design them yourself. Good luck!

Do you need to go to school for event planning?
That's a really great question. It's based on your preference. A lot of the designers/planners I got to know along my journey didn't go to school for event planning/designing.
Love this! I think my biggest problem is I don't know what direction to niche down too. I'm really good a making props and that is not exactly the money maker. @themeitout
Thank you, love! I thought the same when it comes to being an event designer coach; no one is going to pay but I know there's a need for my service. Even if you're the first to offer props as your business, there is a need because not all designers have everything. One of my mentors has all the backdrops I use for my events. So she makes money and so do I!
