- Hey Designers! There have been many tough lessons I’ve learned when starting a balloon business and I wanted to share those lessons with you while giving you some solutions so you don’t make the same mistakes I did.
Starting a balloon business and becoming a balloon decorator can be a tricky journey...especially if you’re starting a business from home! However, as a female entrepreneur, I wanted to share some motivation with you!
In this video, you’ll learn how I started a business in the balloon industry. Here’s a hint: one of the lessons is never use a balloon garland kit for your clients. If you’re doing that, then you definitely need to watch this video from start to finish!

When I first considered starting a balloon business, I thought I would be making helium bouquets, I had no idea all of these marquis, garlands, and giant ballon structures were even a thing! Now I am very intimidated lol. But this video helped, thank you! :)
You can do it! It seems intimidating at first but everyone starts at not knowing everything. I used to think the same thing but the more you practice, the more confident you'll become!
There is definitely a market for fun and unique helium bouquets! Don’t feel like you have to do it all! I only recently added helium bouquets, but I mostly focus on garlands & arches!

Congratulations on starting. I would definitely follow these tips as a way to start. I would also recommend getting a social media for your business and start creating designs to show what you can do. When it comes to giving discounts to family, I usually don’t. If I do, there’s usually a negotiation of something from their end that will benefit my business. Hope this helps

And there were a couple in my community.
I would recommend typing in “balloon supplier” and you’ll get a bunch of websites of distributors. This information was available when I started but now there are so many suppliers since the industry has grown over the last few years. Hope this helps!
