So, mental health is a big theme. The exit was not only epic, it brings that enven on tv, being a person is more crucial than anythig else. I loved her leaving.
And it was a big F U to the highly controlled and produced nature of the show. A la ben de la creme!

I really could not be more obsessed with Ginny Lemon if I TRIED. What an icon.
I hated the way they treated Ginny. They said it was pushing thrm out of their comfort zone but really they were just forcing them out of their style.
I love Ginny Lemon so much and that exit was one of the most iconic moments in drag race history. Even though Ginny won't win that person will be remembered as an amazing individual who shows us how cooky and amazing drag queens/kings can be.

I absolutely adore Ginny Lemon, the way that they stayed true to themselves and proved that Drag isn't scary or serious. Plus they showed how much of an icon that they are, I would definitely want too see Ginny perform in person.
I didnât think i could love Ginny more than i already did but this video really just highlights their character do well. Also the editor needs to be publicly acknowledged
I really enjoyed Ginny's interview. The chemistry to both Ginny & Yshee was fantastic and hilarious.

People who say that Ginny leaving was disrespectful to RuPaul and 'they took a place from somebody who wanted to be there', it's just tv, you wouldn't say somebody walking out of bakeoff was disrespecting Paul Hollywood

â@@SpicyRess808 You're right. disrespect to me would be them completely ruining the lipsync and not allowing sister sister a chance to even perform. or doing interviews in which they say they hate the whole franchise and RuPaul, but they haven't done that. They've just stated they'd had enough, and felt it was their time to go but they aren't hateful so respect to them.
hmmm... say you hired someone to do a job like renovate a room. you told them what you wanted them to do. they agreed. then they ended up just not doing what you wanted and quit in the middle of the job and just said they were tired and going home and walked off. do you feel like that person had respect for you? if so, then wow, ok... what she should have done is done the lip sync. had she won then she could have bowed out respectfully. had she lost, at least she did what she was supposed to. what she agreed to do. if she wasn't willing to do so, she shouldn't have taken the gig in the first place. i really like ginny and was rooting for her so it was very disappointing to just see her give up. now people will just remember her as the quitter. :(
@@roguephoenix this is where our opinions differ. I don't think of going on Drag Race as a job, I don't think going on any competition show is. it's an opportunity for exposure, which may lead on to jobs, therefore being able to leave on your own accord is fine. i know I'd rather be known as a quitter than feel like i had to stay in a situation i wasn't comfortable in because it shows i know my limits.
@@beeholden98 going to drag race is an opportunity. it's exposure. by going here, they increase their gigs and their pay. so when they select them, they are signing a contract that they will do what is required of them. the job was just an example. say you are a coach and you have 5 slots you can fill to train people for an upcoming competition. you tell the candidates what they are required to do and learn and they sign and agree. partway through training, one says they don't want to do one of the things that they agreed upon to do and knew it was required of them. then just walks off. so you say that person who left had respect for that coach? the argument here is not the quitting. it's how it was done. you can quit after you do what you are required to do. you don't have to do it to the best of you ability if you don't want to, but out of respect for the person who picked you over others to fill a very limited spot, you should at least attempt it. then after you do so and you think it's not for you, then you can go. at least you attempted and it's a way of giving thanks and respect for being given the time and opportunity to further your career.

I really wish Dragula could get picked upped with a bigger budget. Cause they dont try to change people... and if they think the look is boring or didnt hit the mark, they at least give constructive criticism.

I love Ginny for having the attitude they have. Some may say what they did was disrespectful, but I really admire it, if that is truly what made them feel more comfortable and happy with the ending of their experience, I can't see how that's disrespectful. Plus, Drag Race is a very limiting place, where a lot of drag is frowned upon or asked to be tweaked, and the judges are very very subjective. I'm glad Ginny did that, it was iconic âš

Girl it's a competition, drag race isn't exactly the place where you can go around doing whatever you want without some sort of consequence.

@@bandamani I think it is actually a great opportunity. Some really push themselves to do things out of their comfort zone. Seeing a 'pretty' version of Ginny gave me a completely new idea of who that person could be and I think she should take that input and run with it occasionally. Especially since it clearly is an emotional issue for her - doing 'pretty' drag.
That said, Drag Race as a format is not for everyone. Joe Black seemed more accepting of that truth than Ginny was. Some of my favourite queens (including Trixie) didn't actually come off that great on the show and weren't the best in the challenges. They're better at doing their own things.
@@intrepidtomato I get what you mean, and I don't think asking for something different is a bad thing, it's just obvious to me that they really weren't too pleased with Ginny as Ginny. Try something new but don't expect that to be the new Ginny, if you know what I mean.
As a Ginny Lemon stan, every episode she made me weep with laughter just being in the room. The judges didn't know what they were messing with. She's so true to herself and that's why we all love her
When I first saw the "meeting the queens" videos and preview looks I have to admit I was pretty sure Ginny wasn't going to be my kind of queen.
I'm very glad to be proven utterly wrong, Ginnys been absolutely one of the best things about UKDR and I'm looking forward to see what they do next!

I thought Ginny was a riot in that challenge! The runway was meh but I still didn't think she deserved bottom 2 because, for me, the challenge holds more weight.
I think Ginny is definitely amazing and not denying them being an icon, but that's the thing their ego got the best of them. They didn't want to give RuPaul the opportunity to eliminate them, so they chose to leave. It was amazing TV though lol.

I am so disappointed in how drag race has treated the non binary contestants. They constantly disrespect them and try to put them in some box.
Ever since Divina De Campo had her non binary storyline edited out, then the DR Holland contestants Chelsea Boy and Mama Queen were very much disrespected and now Ginny.
I think Ginny handled all that very well and honestly I wouldâve left as well if they were trying to change me. Drag is for everyone and not just âfemale impersonationâ and I hope Drag Race does better in the future.
Ginny Lemon is an icon. They always will be.
Ru Paul tried to change Ginny's entire aesthetic/drag persona. Is there no place for the more eccentric British humour and traditions on this show? My concern is that Drag Race is a homogenous corporate entity- the MacDonald's of Drag- sweeping away any local colour to be replaced by Ru's endorsed queens. The UK has a proud centuries old tradition/history of Drag- WE MUST NOT ALLOW IT TO BECOME EXTINCT!
I think that's overly harsh. It is also a spring board for a wider audience to discover these performers. They don't have to win or succeed in Drag Race style drag to generate a wider audience either.
