Part of the reason why I hated AC 3 (along with a bunch of other things). Connor has so many bruh moments that I lost count. I remember entering New York for the first time, and the game immediately tells me to chase this stupid ass courier that has the magic ability to plow through a crowd while I get slowed down by them. After I'm done with that poorly designed mission, Connor's stupid ass quickly gets tossed in jail and quickly began another plot point that got so drawn out. After Haythem's death, Connor just walks up to Charles Lee like an idiot and gets captured, but Charles Lee decides to one up this idiot by pulling the I'm not gonna kill you yet card. Connor proceeds to escape and announce his presence to Charles Lee, initializing this stupid ass chase. The pacing of the story and horrible ass mission design (Only naval missions were actually good) made me absolutely angry with the game by the end of it. The ending of the Homestead Missions (Which should have featured far more in the main story) were 10 times more emotional than any of the Charles Lee garbage.
This is cool, but Ezio did exactly the same all the time. He loved dramatic entrances. Replay the lairs of Romulus if you don’t know what I’m talking about
What pisses me off is that he could've easily shot or tackled him in the burning ship, but nooooo, Ubisoft couldn't allow a measly player to ruin their dramatic movie. Not to mention the way he staggers with the explosion and when things collapse on the ship, reminding you that you don't have complete control over how fast Conner moves. Sliding under things is broken and doesn't act consistently, leaving me jumping up and down like a fool one too many times, making me fail this chase. I also swear that he just skipped back and forth between two of the beams toward the end when I was doing nothing but holding forward and the free-run button. He's too clingy and always ends up climbing on things I don't want him to, again failing the chase. They start you a good 45 meters out from Charles and he runs faster than you, artificially making the chase drag out. They need to put a button that initiates you climbing something instead of it just happening automatically. They need to put a real reason why he couldn't have just used ranged weapons and why there was need for a chase. They need to outright take out the sections where you slide under things, or put a separate button that allows you to do so (probably use a crouch button). Lee should've had the same running speed as you or they should have set the max distance to 70m to avoid the "losing target" screen flashing, distracting the player. Lose the stagger and just let the player control Conner's speed consistently throughout the game. I failed ludicrously at this section, failing what had to have been over 20 times. A lot of it was my own failure, but too much of it was the game. I love the story of the game and its characters, but honestly the gameplay is so bad I would've rather seen it as a movie.
Another problem I found is that Connor is probably meant to be the fastest runner but they couldn't manage to make him faster because if you look to the side of him when his running he looks as if his stopping and starting really quickly

If you think the gameplay is bad and remove it, how is AC3 going to be a game anyways!? The devs put a lot of effort in that. I am sorry but this will stand as issued.

This game is fun for casual play through, but this full synchronization is just a playthrough of frustration over bugs and glitches.. Where you start runnning the wrong way, stucked in crates, guards stucked in path after investigation and all other strange things.. In this current mission, the route in this video can not be achieved everytime, since the people disturbed by the first explosion behind the building can be moved to different location making it impossible for you to get pass them, and still be with in the limit..
This fucking level.... Did the developers even know how fucking terrible it was when they created it? Or did they know and yet still keep it in just to fuck with the players mentality? This actually ruined what was a amazingly fun game for me.

This mission is a failure of the game designer. I strongly believe that if you can't figure out what you're doing wrong before your second death or fail, then it's on the developer.. and they should feel compelled, nay, eager even, to fix that shit.

You don't need to do it like the way he does it here. You need to wait for about 2 seconds and then run, because then you aren't hit by the explosion. Then you need to evade those two guards by going on the crates/barrels. Once you've done all that you need to do everything the same as in this video! I hope this will help you!

Your method worked the first time I tired (actually the second, because I made the mistake of jumping the barrels to the left of the soldiers the first time instead of the ones on the right). I tried other ways, including jumping onto the boat. It worked one time when I did it about a year ago, but that's about it.
I actually quite liked this game, A bit underrated in my opinion. The only real problem I had with this game was the glitches, bugs, terrible lip-synching and the fact that there were too many optional objectives. It really constrained the game. Got them all in the end though.
I liked this game, but thought it was also the worst of the AC series. I liked the setting, I liked some of the story missions, I liked the naval missions (and am hoping they're better in 4 because I felt they could be improved upon), but I didn't go out of my way to do any of the side mission in 3 because I just wanted to finish the game. I spent a solid day of gaming in 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations on just doing menial tasks. I wanted to fix up the villa or Rome, or to a lesser extent Constantinople (I did the first two, I didn't do Constantinople so much). I also took pride in the armor that I earned from the side missions in each of those games. I liked having a collection of weapons and paintings and such. In 3...I didn't really care about the side missions that much or the extra. As I said, I just wanted to finish the game because it wasn't as interesting. And I didn't dislike Connor. He wasn't very likable, but as with everyone else, I would've rather played as Haytham the whole game.
This chase was frustrating, but it only took me 4-5 tries. Most of my failure came from missing a certain ledge towards the end. I managed to dodge most of the obstacles, too.
Same. I just jump accidentally on one of them railings and I automatically get DESYNCHRONIZED. What do you think I'm tryna do, Ubisoft? Jump off a cliff because of the very specific optional objectives? (Seriously though. Why did Connor air assassinate on specific Grenadier? Why didn't he shove anyone while chasing the man he so desperately wanted killed for the last 2 decades? Why didn't he touch the ground while killing the patriot messengers?)
@@euclidismybro1451 (7 years later) The music in AC3 is amazing, definitely one of its greatest strengths and is my favourite besides AC2/brotherhood and Unity. I made that comment reply when I was doing the mission which was infuriatingly tense, so I think I was speaking to quality of the mission itself rather than the music. Hope this clears things up :3

For a game largely based on freerunning, it's incredibly easy to get stuck on a fence or be unable to exit combat when you have to run (A huge bug for me during the Hickey chase).
Actually there's an easier way to do this: in the beginning run to the stairs on your left to avoid the explosion, then when the guards are in your way run left onto the ship and run to the front of the ship and run up on the big point thing up front (don't know what it's called) and jump off it to land on the ground. Then run towards Lee onto the burning ship and whenever you you see a low thing in your way (like a fence) hold R1 and X to hop over and just hold R1 when you have to slide under.
Aside from the glitches and all the frustration that came along with them, I really appreciated this chase, it may have been short and bittersweet but the music and atmosphere really draw you in for its duration
If you guys are still having trouble donig this route there is another one. Right when the chase starts, run on to the dock on the left, this allows you to avoid the damn bomb that Lee drops and the first line of soldiers, then right before running into the second line of soldiers turn left and take the plank onto the ship, run up to the front and jump off from there
Haha no worries. I felt frustrated on very few runs so I can imagine. The level design is very poor. Felt a lot of people would get stuck thats why this is the only actually gameplay I uploaded from AC3 :)

i actually enjoy PC gaming.. so after replaying brotherhood and ezio all that stuff 1208139571983275 times i decided finally to play Assassins creed 3 ok we did good then we reached this part here chasing that son of bitch anyway so i was like: (i'm getting this guy to requescat to pace) but nope failed 1st time tried 3st nope did my best AGAIN NO tried 26st - NO then here i 'am on THIS VIDEO and still can't get it :( and those fast walks on PC are.. if you tried on pc you'll know how difficult is to past them 54 attempt still no result. anyway SCREW THIS going back to brotherhood :D

Just run along the lower path on the left, run over the barrel and crates by the first group of soldiers. Tougher, but I got it. Thanks again! :-)
All you need to do is go forward go the left side of the explosives so it knocks the guy over, Charles lee knocks over the right side guard on his way through, then when you see the four guys standing there jump to your left onto the dock side and run that until boat jump bit into burning boat, then the rest is basically just a chase which you see in this video

Alright , I tested and tested , this mission is a fucking annoying peace of shit , follow the route Charles is going , get hit by the barrels , go to your right around the first two guards , then follow the path in this video and thats it

C'mon assassin's creed 3 was justo so bad planned, the AI, the enviroment, the missions. Connor go kill the somebody, get captured, scape, connor go kill somebody, get coaptured, scape. The bad guy never does nothing untill it's too late always. BAD PLOT, BAD GAME.

TooKool4Skool98 This level isn’t “difficult”, it’s broken. The controls are often a pain in the ass even under the best of circumstances, but being forced to zig zag through a bunch of crap that Connor wants to latch on to when all you want to do is climb a particular wall or just run forward makes them damn near impossible to work with.
this is the most annoying game ever. i finished both COD-Ghost and BF4 in 24 hours but this game jst had to take months bcoz the developers were too busy counting their money

I could not stop playing it this weekend, either. I am waiting for Crysis 3 to be mailed, so I returned to this game just to remember why I stopped playing it. I think the problem is with the new game engine. The engineers, likely, did not have enough time to work out all of the glitches. This is my least favourite game for 2013. I just had to express that. It makes me feel better:) But, it sucks you guys hated it too.:(

I failed this mission 3 times. Then uninstalled the game. That was many years ago. Then I downloaded the game again, failed 2 times, alt+f4 and now I'm here. This burning ship always got me.

i figured it out today. in the beginning you have to wait for 2 seconds, then start running. this way you will avoid getting shot by the explosion. then run forward and avoid two redcoats by jumping on the crates (or barrels or whatever) on the right. then follow this vid.

Yeah, I agree with you. I love the series and love the open world aspect of the game as well. Can't wait to play 4. Too many objectives like you said.

This chase was frustrating, but it only took me 4-5 tries. Most of my failure came from missing a certain ledge towards the end. I managed to dodge most of the obstacles, too.

Same. I just jump accidentally on one of them railings and I automatically get DESYNCHRONIZED. What do you think I'm tryna do, Ubisoft? Jump off a cliff because of the very specific optional objectives? (Seriously though. Why did Connor air assassinate on specific Grenadier? Why didn't he shove anyone while chasing the man he so desperately wanted killed for the last 2 decades? Why didn't he touch the ground while killing the patriot messengers?)

@@euclidismybro1451 (7 years later) The music in AC3 is amazing, definitely one of its greatest strengths and is my favourite besides AC2/brotherhood and Unity. I made that comment reply when I was doing the mission which was infuriatingly tense, so I think I was speaking to quality of the mission itself rather than the music. Hope this clears things up :3

For a game largely based on freerunning, it's incredibly easy to get stuck on a fence or be unable to exit combat when you have to run (A huge bug for me during the Hickey chase).
Actually there's an easier way to do this: in the beginning run to the stairs on your left to avoid the explosion, then when the guards are in your way run left onto the ship and run to the front of the ship and run up on the big point thing up front (don't know what it's called) and jump off it to land on the ground. Then run towards Lee onto the burning ship and whenever you you see a low thing in your way (like a fence) hold R1 and X to hop over and just hold R1 when you have to slide under.
The guy out side of the explosion falls on you causing you to fall back so you have to run on the ledge now

Aside from the glitches and all the frustration that came along with them, I really appreciated this chase, it may have been short and bittersweet but the music and atmosphere really draw you in for its duration
If you guys are still having trouble donig this route there is another one. Right when the chase starts, run on to the dock on the left, this allows you to avoid the damn bomb that Lee drops and the first line of soldiers, then right before running into the second line of soldiers turn left and take the plank onto the ship, run up to the front and jump off from there
You can use tackel on first. 2 soldiers

Haha no worries. I felt frustrated on very few runs so I can imagine. The level design is very poor. Felt a lot of people would get stuck thats why this is the only actually gameplay I uploaded from AC3 :)

Thanks. This is the LAST thing I have to do and I want to get 100% synch on it. I also found success going on the main pier. Just run along the lower path on the left, run over the barrel and crates by the first group of soldiers. Tougher, but I got it.

All you need to do is go forward go the left side of the explosives so it knocks the guy over, Charles lee knocks over the right side guard on his way through, then when you see the four guys standing there jump to your left onto the dock side and run that until boat jump bit into burning boat, then the rest is basically just a chase which you see in this video
Doesn't work, Lee runs twice as fast as me. Even if the path was completely free I wouldn't make it. The fuck? A bug on PC maybe?

The controls are often a pain in the ass even under the best of circumstances, but being forced to zig zag through a bunch of crap that Connor wants to latch on to when all you want to do is climb a particular wall or just run forward makes them damn near impossible to work with.
Finally, I find out how you catch him, I tried about 9 times and then finally, because I watched this, I figure out I was only going the wrong way.

I could not stop playing it this weekend, either. I am waiting for Crysis 3 to be mailed, so I returned to this game just to remember why I stopped playing it.
I think the problem is with the new game engine. The engineers, likely, did not have enough time to work out all of the glitches.

I failed this mission 3 times. Then uninstalled the game. That was many years ago. Then I downloaded the game again, failed 2 times, alt+f4 and now I'm here. This burning ship always got me.

i figured it out today. in the beginning you have to wait for 2 seconds, then start running. this way you will avoid getting shot by the explosion. then run forward and avoid two redcoats by jumping on the crates (or barrels or whatever) on the right. then follow this vid.
