Martinelli was always our guy in these games, the game changer but this season he's been dreadful. Saka's now the one being relied upon to change games and he's not that guy. It's too much responsibility on a player who's a traditional winger. He's not a wide striker like Salah or Rashford. I think what actually happened last night is he was trying too hard, he just needed to slow down, he had three guys on him and he was still trying to beat them. Saka's had a good season, the issue is when Saka has a bad game it's more noticeable like Salah because they are required to be the main guy. Foden has multiple games where he's terrible, he has long periods of goal droughts but he has players like KDB, Haaland, Rodri and Silva who step up so it isn't noticable. Saka's improved from last season performances wise but last year he had Ødegaard and Martinelli to mask his bad days whereas this year he's a bit of a one man army

Last night for the first time in a long time my team looked petrified by the task in front of them. They were like rabbits facing headlights. Our best players had no legs last night brought on by fear. We can no longer say we have world class players because not one of the ones we thought were did show up. These players, as young as they are, are at a crossroads. The direction they take will define how good they can really be. Saka needs to go back to the young player that you couldn’t kick out of a game because he just went through tackles like Messi or Ronaldo. Not anymore. Declan’s lung bursting energy was not on display sapped by the task in front of them & all the plaudits for Odegard were shown to be misleading. He is no Debruyne & definitely not a captain, especially of Arsenal. Martinelli was poor & at fault for the goal but he is also recovering from a catalogue of injuries so it is unfair to criticise too much. Jorginho was, for me, the shining light & his experience is going to be invaluable for the rest of the season. I feel we need a couple of new signings with experience to carry on the progress made in the last two years. All is not lost & they could just go out & win all the remaining matches which will give them a fighting chance to win the prize which should have been our first priority this season

Gooner here. Arteta must be given more time. Just look at where he has taken us in the past couple of seasons. Results, character and consistency have all improved dramatically. In many other professional sports, runs like this year’s UCL and title runs this year and last would be attributed to a young team getting the much needed experience to win championships/trophies. I believe this is the primary explanation for us not finishing these runs. Key part of last year’s run was depth that we have improved upon already and will likely continue to improve this transfer window, along with purchasing a true 9. Sacking managers from time to time is a good practice as it replenishes the dressing room atmosphere and keeps things excitingnfor players. Maybe it worked 20 years ago but now having same manager in a club for 10-20 years becomes suffocating and players eventually are fed up. There is excuses talking about injuries with Saka as always this has been going on for years now. Every time we watch him have bad game it is because he is overplayed or injured. Notice Saka is only limping when he is defending or playing bad or losing the ball.
It has nothing to do with injury or bottling it is simply a case of a player not being good enough currently to be consistent. Saka has had a poor season even when he was nicking goals and assists he was playing bad. I think he has maybe had 2 or 3 good games all season. Martinelli the exact same yet those two players are asking for 250 - 300k a week.
So 32 g/a in 40 games most of them first goals or equalizer is crazy for a guy that has only played 2-3 good games out of 40 why would anyone need excuses for him. i would say imagine the numbers when he´s had a good season. and you have no idea if he´s injured or not maybe when he´s limping the pain is more then when not limping i thought every one knew that.

I think you need to go and do some more research Saka has scored 1 goal against any of the big 6 this season from open play. He also scored against Bayern but otherwise it was a penalty against Tottenham and nothing in the other big games against the big six. Remove his penalties and he is 9 goals from open play in the league. This is not a kid or our starboy anymore this is a 300k a week player who held the club to ransom, refused a five year deal and insisted on a release clause until we removed a year off the offer to make him happy.

I do not care what anyone says Saka has been considerably worse this season compared to his last two seasons. Everyone knows it and everyone has spoken of it all season and those who wont accept it just say he is injured or needs a rest. 5 players at Arsenal have played more minutes than him, no player in the history of Arsenal has been allowed bad games because the fans will say they are injured.
How does a player limp off the pitch like he can barely walk and then play again 3 days later with no limp until he has a bad spell and then the limp magically reappears. Saka is a good player but he is not world class and until he steps up in the big moments and becomes more consistent he never will be. He is one dimensional and lacks variety and when Odegaard is not near him he just does nothing.
