    Thank you, that was very helpful, I really appreciate it. So with a more dry leather like this, you would not use saddle soap, just brush off the dirt before applying the product? Or was that done before already, and the leather has already dried? Also I wanted to ask if it is it okay to only use the saddle soap on the parts of a saddle, that get into contact with the horse´s sweat and clean the other parts with a damp rag before applying any product?

      No, we would not use saddle soap. We would knock the dirt off and apply the product you are using. You can use saddle soap on just the sweaty parts, but it would be better to use saddle soap on the entire saddle.

    What are you using as the applicator when you apply the conditioner? I enjoy your videos and have learned so much - thanks.

    How do you apply the Murphy’s oil soap? Same as the others?

    • @BigBendSaddlery
      @BigBendSaddlery  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes. Apply it like the others, just remember that you can always add more if needed but it’s hard to take it off if you use too much the first time!

    Do you have any tips on a saddle that leather got wet and set and the leather is hard. How do you treat and soften it.

    • @BigBendSaddlery

      You will want to clean your saddle and then use Lexol Leather Conditioner. Be sure it is the regular Lexol formula, not one of the specialty formulas. This will be a slow process, and it may not work, but it is your best bet. Apply Lexol liberally about 15 times a day for 2 to 3 days. This may take 2 to 3 gallons of Lexol. After you have done this, if the leather has softened, you will still need to apply some other kind of conditioner to the leather to finish up. This is a hard thing to fix, and may not be successful. Without seeing the saddle it is hard to give you a better answer. You can alway ship the saddle to us and we can try to work on it. I hope this helps! Thank you for watching!

    Do you dilute the Murphys at all or use it full strength ?

      @BigBendSaddlery  Před rokem +1

      Hello! We do not dilute Murphy's when we use it. Thanks for watching!

    I just bought a pair of vintage chaps that are dry and stiff. Which product would be best to rejuvenate the leather?

    • @BigBendSaddlery
      @BigBendSaddlery  Před rokem +1

      Hello! Our recommendation is to use either Murphy's Oil Soap or regular Lexol Leather Conditioner. Both of these products work well to rejuvenate dry leather.

    You need to look at the camera when you're talking hold the product up to the camera so we can see what it looks like because we can't see it way over there on the table. You're talking but we don't see nothing you're talking about because you got these little containers sitting on the table and look at the camera you're looking at I don't know the floor
