How to tie a Mathew Walker knot, Tie a honda in a rope, and sew a burner into a honda. If you have questions about this or any other Tack Tip, comment below or call us at (800)643-4502
Very cool demonstration - clear and easy to see what you're doing, well done! (from a dude-gal who's never done any roping, but rides and appreciates good craft work!)
Very nice presentation! I think I can do it. I left my lamb-catching lariat hanging on the fence and one of my dogs chewed both ends off. Glad to find this easy to follow tutorial.
Not going to lie came into this videos asking myself “is he going to tie up a Honda Civic or something” and wasn’t expecting this but I stayed for the vid and learned something new :)
I LOVE seeing a well stocked tool shed! Reminds me of my mama🤠 she always said "any job is possible... with the right tool" to this very day, all my daughters friends dads come to me to borrow tools. Feels awesome! (Except that time a dad borrowed a hatchet and a saw to cut down their Christmas tree and he brought back my hatchet with pits and gashes all over it! I even sharpened it for him, but he said he couldn't figure it out! Now he only gets to borrow my secondary stock! No top shelves for him! )
Great video man! Do you perchance sell bulk rope? I need about 60' n MH or M 7/16 scant and the same length and diameter in XS for horses. Basically I need a couple of ranch ropes.
Me Agradan mucho estos videos, Apenado mucho de ellos.,ya que hago algunos trabajos en cuero para uso personal y para las personas que me solicitan algún trabajo. Saludos.
We use artificial sinew. We buy rawhide by the side and make the burners ourselves. Feel free to call us a (800)634-4502 if you would like to purchase burners. I'm not sure of the exact measurements of the rope in this video. The given instructions will work for any size rope.
If you are new to roping, a softer rope is easier to handle. Another thing to consider is the size of your hands. If you have larger hands, a 10.5 or 7/16 could work. Medium: 9.5 or 3/8. Small: 5/16. These are just suggestions. Whatever rope feels good to you is a good rope for you to use. I hope this helps! Let us know if you have more questions!
This got to be really early techniques I guess and not even close to what I was taught when I worked as a sailor on comercial ships. Cool to watch though thanks for sharing.
Hello! I'm not sure what you are asking about. Where was the metal ring in the video? With a little more information, I'm sure we can provide an answer. Thank you!
The correct word comes from the mexican term hondilla and is a knot that chinacos used to make and is still used to tie the ixtle ropes in México, which btw was born in México 200 years before americans started to use ropes in the open field.
As far as we know, Hondo & Honda are interchangeable with Honda being the more widely used term. In some areas it is even pronounced “Hondoo”. Thanks for the question!

What if you have a hemp or sisal rope ?
If you don’t mind me asking, what would the end product be used for??
Our pasture ropes are usually used for roping cattle or horses.
What type of rope do you recommend using and what's the average thickness of the rope most people use on horse roping setup??. Thanks Darryl Bavington

Muy lindo lazo lástima que aca en argentina no he visto .
What type of rope is that?
How do they make the rope so stiff that it keeps the coil perfectly round?
The stiffness of a rope depends on how tightly it was twisted during the rope making process.
This got to be really early techniques I guess and not even close to what I was taught when I worked as a sailor on comercial ships. Cool to watch though thanks for sharing.
I dont know what you were taught but I would think that sailing knots and farming/ranching knots are different.
where can i find this piece of metal (ring)
What is that rope made off? What type of rope is it?
That is a Gold Poly Pasture Rope. You can find them here: bigbendsaddlery.com/?s=pasture+ropes&post_type=product
Tying the Matthew Walker knot is harder then setting of the entire United States missile arselal.
What material is this rope made of?
This is a gold poly rope. Thank you for watching!
What was the reason for the metal ring?

Isn't "Hondo" a John Wayne movie? i think they say it is an Apache term meaning "Mean Temper" LOL
@@BigBendSaddlery that word, "honda" is a corruption of the Spanish, developed in México, word, "hondilla."
