I live in the town where DB tractors were made. They were tested on local farms. Most were exported. Many locally are still in use. They have definitely stood the test of time!

Great to read your comment. I've been to the DB museum in Meltham and also to David Brown's house. It is sad that it all fell apart, but times change and now we only a few tractor manufacturers left to chose from. Very sad.

The David brown 90 series have got to be some of the best tractors of their time (in my opinion). The 3 and 4 cylinder engines were the best for fuel economy and they sounded absolutely wonderful. Our 1190 still sees plenty of work today.
    Great video 👍

What a shame the 2D Rowcrop did not get a mention. David Browns rear engined, 14 hp, air cooled, 2 cylinder diesel tractor for smallholders and market gardeners. Built between 1956 and 1961 it made use of the tubular steel chassis as an air reservoir for the implement lift system.

I was keen to add some 2D video but I couldn't find anything in my video archive. Maybe I do another video in the future and add it to that.
      Thanks for the comment.

Great vid! As a boy after being told that the "db" used in the name of various Aston Martins was David Browne, those tractors got noticed! Only ever seen them in white here in the west of Ireland.

Interesting video 👍 i drove a 995 for two weeks baling whilst waiting on delivery of a new Ford tractor 995 was the worst tractor ever drove for access to the cab 😕 then years later had a Demo of a 1694 hydro but again Ford won the day with a 7600 💪💪 up here 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 David Brown did not have a good name as regards the casting of their engine blocks particularly in the era leading up to the implematic era, a friend of mine has an original VAK 1A and it does over 30mph on the road 😳👍

Interesting memories. DB was never popular in our part of the UK either. The first time I encountered one was at college. It felt very strange to drive and the cab was a challenge. Having said that, you get used to certain tractors and new ones take time to appreciate.

@@Casterton-Vintagethe thing I like about them is the cab it looks nice and big, but I've never drove one why was the cab a challenge.

@@martymartin2894 the cab was a challenge when you are built like a tank 🙄😁 no problem at all probably for a normal lean athletic type I would assume have to clarify was the shape of the door that made life difficult it narrowed towards the top where shoulder width in my case was a serious issue was ok when you were in it 👍
