  • There are not a lot of videos specifically for the AC on 3rd gen Odysseys. The bolts and hoses are straightforward to find and remove so rather than posting a full walkthrough I decided to just throw out a few tips I learned as I was doing the job. Enjoy.

THIS is the video everyone should be watching for this job. I wish I'd found it first; would have saved four hours of my life, trying to fit it back in from the bottom!

For those doing this, you want to use a 5.5mm ratchet for the small screws on the bracket. A 7/32nd head is a bit too big and will strip the bolt heads as the metal is soft, round the edges, and you’ll have to get your neighbour who is a welder to weld tips on the heads of the bolts so you can unscrew them Lol!
And definitely remove the belt tensioner as mentioned.
This video really helped, hopefully the 5.5mm head helps others out too

@@brianreynolds1596 no idea,... the little heads she welded on worked to unscrew them and also to put them back in for me.

@@brianreynolds1596 Lowes, take your bolt there and find the one you're looking for. Takes a while but it is an option.

I did this today. I had to also remove that tensioner. Took me a while to figure that out. Wish I would have seen this video sooner. Lol. Thank you

Thanks for this video! The tip of removing the serpentine belt tensioner was right on the money.. was able to remove the compressor very easy on my 2010 Odyssey through the wheel well using this tip...

We have a new compresser. on the old compresserwe have a bolt that is stuck and stripped. What is that bracket called and can we order another one.

That bracket on the compressor is a manifold and it basically just makes the hose fit better on the compressor, but those little bolts strip so freaking easily. It is such a crappie design. Why do they have to even make a separate piece? That should just come built in with the compressor casing. I got a new compressor but it does not have that manifold and the manifold bolt is stripped on the old one and it is very f*** annoying..... 😡

Great Job on this auto repair video. Loved your straightforward presentation. Do you have any tips on removing and replacing the freon? I am expecting to change out my compressor and condenser soon. Will purchase a vaccum pump and gauges to keep for future jobs.
Also, I would encourage you to make some more on home auto repairs when you can. I have enjoyed making videos that help people save money and trouble. There is a big need for this kind of video nowaday, as the drive-in repairs are so expensive and sometimes questionable. Thanks Again!

I enjoy teaching so this means a lot, thank you very much.
As far as evacuating the system I simply took it to a local shop and had them take care of it as well as charging the system again. I didn't want to deal with disposal ordinances. Hope this helps.
