Nicely done. I added due to my system and it appears to be leaking around the compressor and/or where the hoses attach to the compressor.
I'm going to pressure wash the engine bay and see if I can pinpoint where the leak is.
You guys did not mention anything about releasing the pressure on the a.c. lines...
I learned the hard way a long time ago, but you never wear rings when you're doing automotive work... Still have all my fingers, but had a real eye-opening experience that day in the shop...
Ring, watch, chain and all that out of the way. Regards.
Aside from being dangerous it all gets scratched up and looks shabby after a while
Nice watch though.
De-glove is the word you’re looking for.
Thanks so much guys, I couldn't get the compressor out until I watched your video. Thanks so much!
This is one heck of a video, THANKS!! Not my exact model but I see how it's done. Thanks for reminding people to not drop their suspension out the bottom haha
Thanks for the video guys. Very helpful to know which way the compressor comes out
Very helpful and informative. Nice video
Thanks alot!! I'm about to do one. I was looking at it like NO WAY!!! BUT NOW IM CONFIDENT
Two thumbs up!! This is, by far, the quickest way to remove the compressor I've seen yet. Thanks for the vid! you've saved me time!!
Thanks for this - gotta do mine today - couldn’t be happier with this video - excellent job!1
Thanks for the video...I’ll be working on this project this weekend saving some major $$$$
I thought about doing this too, being that a need to do the alternator anyways,...but then,...after I found out, that the air compressor cost over$300 dollars, ...well that's just too much price and hassle,...I rather just get a plug adapter and plug in a fan.
I always do the belt removal from the top. First remove the engine cover. Next, use a 19mm socket and push it toward the firewall with one hand, remove the belt with the other. Helps to put a cheater on the ratchet handle.
What's a cheater? Beside a unfaithful person,..that is.
@@mrg466 A pole that fits on top of the handle of your wrench to increase its leverage.
@@JustEnjoyingLife73 ok, that's exactly what I had to do, thanks!
I've done this too, works great if you're solo. Just have to be careful not to strip the nut if it's a cheaper tensioner... I've had that happen too.
Great video thanks guys!
Thank you! Great video!
Excellent video cinematography. Thank you. I won't be doing the job myself. But, it helps to know what my beloved mechanic Ken at K&K Automotive in San Carlos, CA will be doing when I request it, because my 2010 Honda Odyssey AC freon seems to need recharging after only 1.5 years since its last AC leak test and freon recharge. Now 1.5 years later Ken tested the AC system for leaks and found none. He recharged it and now it blows cold. But, he said that there is a chance that the AC Compressor itself is leaky and may need replacement when it stops blowing cold in another 1.5 years or so down the road if not sooner.
this was very helpful .....Thanks..........
thank you very helpful, yes take the 2, 17mm bolts must be removed to twist support arm in order to get the compressor out. to put the new one on angle the pulley in first then twist and turn stay with it cause there are times you think it will just not fit . Thank you again.
fyi, I had a 2005 and the compressor barely fit out of the bottom. I ended up removing the radiator (partially, I left the transmission lines attached and just moved it far enough out of the way that I could fit the compressor in from the front). It was SO much easier than wiggling it up through the frame. I recommend removing the radiator. Saved me hour(s).
That’s how I did it. Gotta get the radiator out of the way
Sup guys ? Video was helpful. Just wanna comment on my experience. Instead of taking the piece from the frame. I took ac compressor off moved it to the front of the car . Then i took the plate where the ac compressor itself is bolted on 4 bolts the athe bottom bolt for the alternator then the whole plate with the tensioner comes right out really easy all this is done from the right side of the car so i did remove the wheel. Then theirs alot of space for the ac compressor to come out easily. Might sound like a lot but if u already this deep into it shouldn't be a problem. Made my job really easy. Thanks for your video help me alot .
Great tip
I like this guy's skill.
Great video guys good job!!
Can you show an uncut video of the full removal of the compressor as well as the installation of the new compressor? I don't see how I can install the new one threw this opening without damaging it or spilling the oil. Also, it would be nice if you discussed how much oil to add. This video is strictly a removal video, not a replacement video. I committed to your advice and now I feel like the only way to install the new compressor is by removing the radiator as other youtube videos suggest. Help!
thanks for sharing. take care from Tn.
...so in other words, go to a mechanic? Got it. lol
Nah... it means go to auto parts store buy the parts and tools needed and do the shit yourself. Simple as that. But yeah, take it to mechanic. Because we love doing these 20 min jobs and charging $500 +. . Love it when people are allergic to tools and/or work..
It really isn’t that hard
L lo
If your incapable yes
@@carlgothard9644dude's probably still sucking on his grandma's tit
Good job, thanks !!
Thanku God bless you
I like these guys and they've helped me with a couple things, but they are wrong about removing the compressor. Don't mess with the suspension brace bolts! Since you already have the serpentine belt off, go ahead and take off the tensioner--the compressor slides right out through the wheel well.
It’s the same thing there’s no right or wrong the bracket is more convenient
It’s not like it’s going to unaligned
Removing the tensioner is 100x easier. I did it. Dragging that out through the brace is a nightmare - they edit out the struggles.
Dragging out thru the brace, all the oil drips out as well in addition to being hell to get out.
Soooo, I originally took it out like these guys, took a minute.
Then I thought to remove the tension pulley for the “easy access” and negative. It was a nightmare that way. I ended up putting back in like the video. Lol
thank you sooo very much
useful. thanks.
Thanks very much
Looks like a pain in the ass no matter which way you go but not near as bad as I thought it was. I will be doing mine here shortly thank you very much great video.
I took the pulley out first and it was easy to remove using this method. Didn't have to wiggle like crazy.
@@johnphenglavanh7441 interesting...
I did it my self taking belt out and changing alternator and tensioner. The first thing you should do is to take out the plastic cover from the engine
Not sure how you got that out without taking off the tire I applaud 👏 you
Nice video guys :)
nice watch
Dj Cali-Marz
I would not be sporting this watch doing this kind of work afraid scratching it.
I have a Mazda CX7 2008. My AC stop cooling then when I did a visual inspection on the compressor I saw one part of the compressor off. I think that part is a AC clutch. The bolt is missing but the part is attached but separate. So I Know the bolt is missing and I don't know what else is missing. Also I don't know if I need only put another 10mm bolt and my AC will be fine or if I have to replace the whole compressor.
Thanks
There is a step in my Haynes manual, says to drain the oil from the compressor to determine how much oil to leave in the new one so it is not overfull. Do you have a video on that process?
Wow I had no idea you can take it out for the bottom. I was doing a 2002 today and I taking everything out from top
How do you remove freon without a vacuum? Is there a way to do it by hand?
Looks a little complicate buy with your videos, i can do ,thanks bro
is there a reason you didnt swivel the lower support bar away first and then try to remove the bolts????? seems this would be much easier..
Sir, nice watch it might scratch wow😮
IS NESSESARY TO PUT GOLD RING WHEN YOU WORKING UNDER A CAR? PROBABLY GIVE YOU MORE LUCKY ????
Evacuating and refilling the system costs $139 at Jiffy Lube in San Diego 9/22/23. That way you don't need any of the evacuation tools.
Good job 😍i’just replace pulley with the magnetic saved me the money if ac work they just magnetic not working take me 2 day hard time just take the safety pink of and on...🤫🤫🤫😍
What are you talking about? Replace pulley with magnetic?
@@mrg466 I think he's talking about the clutch. That's the part that often fails.
Great video but Dude Seriously loose the ring and watch while working on things.....😳😳☹️
lose the ring agree.
Can I do this work on a Honda odyssey 2000?
Just put it back in the same way it came out? Did you get a good laugh over that after the camera stopped rolling?
do you have to let the freon in the system out first, so the system doesn't blow up in your face?

How do you switch out the AC accumulator/drier?
Just watched the video and I'm wondering the same thing. Did you figure it out?
replace the condenser. it comes with the dryer and desiccant bag
Hi when I do vacuum to the system How to add all for the compresor Or Not
When I do the vacuum to the system I have to add oil on the compressor or no
IS there an orofice tube in there?
One did you evacuate the refrigerant? Two did you vacuum the system. Did you change the desiccant? Kind of hacks guys....
What about the accumulator?
Hi can you please tell me which compressor the vehicles comes with ?
Honda Part No.: 38810-RGL-A02
It's a Denso. Rockauto has them.

You dont need 2 people to take out the belt
I am going to do this with my in law. Mechanic wants 1700 for the job lol
I like how you skip the actual removal. Why? Did the frame have to come down? That's deceptive and you know it
@7:56
People here makes things 100 XX harder that they really are talking about comments
At 7: 50 u guys edit the video so im not sure if u guys get it off easily that way.
How much does it cost for those kinds of jobs?
Roughly 800-1500.
And how the FUCK do we pressure down the system lol
I think I'll will pay somebody?!?
Step one: remove watch :P
Horrible ending we could tell you didn't know how pull it out fram changes after your dad did it lol

You should not be wearing such a nice looking watch while doing this job or you will scratch it.
Take your watch off
That look totally fake. Taking it out at the end there
