Love your videos
Can you make a video about ants or centipedes/milipedes.
Love your stuff, my son and I love the weird but true series as well, wish you guys still did that too.
😁😂🎉📌
I wish my husband had the same enthusiasm for this kind of stuff. He doesnt appreciate it like me so im the weirdo in our relationship
The biggest Beatles are John Lennon and Paul McCartney, both at around 180 cm
Ba dum tiss!!
@@HappyFace1651"stupid pee" 💀
Hahaha
🤣🤣
Booo!
This plays like a whimsical children's show and I am absolutely enamored.
For the record, I think the Longest (without Antennae) is 'the biggest'!
For me I think the largest is the heaviest one, and it's best to use their adult phases. So it's the Goliath Beetle for me 🪲🐞
Like Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood
🪲🐛
@@tifftreads kind of remind me of george the monkey that i have forgotten about for so long , such nostalgia
When you brought up their ability to fly, I thought you would be showing us the largest wingspan. I am going to Google that now.
Me too.
I only know that if you compare the folded/opened ratio, the earwigs wins by able fold it 1/18 of its original size (around 5-6%)
And yeah, earwigs can fly and its terrifying XD but NGL cool in slow mo
*will chatgpt that

I knew beetles could get pretty chonky, but I didnt expect some beetles to be super hairy to be honest. Interesting video.
THICC and hairy 🗿
Chonky and fuzzy beetles. I like it.
I love that all the coloring and animation is done in the same artstyle as the Very Hungry Caterpillar.
I was just mentioning that to my wife as we were watching!
It should be the beetle with the largest volume. Which most likely will also be the heaviest, ergo the Goliath beetle is the winner (at least out of the beetles shown in this video)
Nah Bro The Largest Beetle Is The Titan Beetle
@@GemstoneGogetaBlue_Editzzzim pretty sure thats just the heaviest specimen, on average iirc goliaths are heavier
I bet it's that giant larva
finally, my animal crossing beetle expertise is coming in handy
Yeah the goliath beetle is gnarly
Fun fact: the theoretically largest beetle larva has never been found by modern scientists, though its boreholes in tree stumps allow us to guess. The titan beetle (shown briefly at 4:40) has a larval form that is thought to reach around a foot long, thus making it both the longest and heaviest beetle in the world.
A... FOOT... LONG...? That's -- oh my god. That goes up to my knee. It's around the size of the longest stickbug I've ever seen. That thing was massive. Oh geez...
Damnn, they rare or smtn?
I usually prefer mass when looking at the "biggest of something". It's less subjective and I want big and chonk. And considering we're talking about *beetles* I will have to go with the adult form and not a grub. I know they're the same species but a grub is just not a beetle yet, you know?
So my pick is the Goliath.
My favorite science channel, especially with this video about insects and beetles. Mr. Orange Beanie is a good narrator/presenter. We have a real person. 👍
Sorry I don't have much money right now, but I just wanted to let you know your videos (especially on insects) mean a lot to me!
@sundiver9074 :)
What about wingspan? That could be another catagory
you have captured some magical essense in these videos. good on ya, keep it going. the tone of voice, the musical inputs, and the curiouse nature of the video topic, the vibe is great
So great to see beetles on this channel! They're awesome and sadly underrated. They make great pets, too ❤
What types of beetles would you recommend for a beginner? I've been keeping snails for a bit, and I'm itching to branch out into other inverts!
@@icarusclark1653 I think sun beetles, pachnoda marginata, are great for beginners! They're not fussy and just a joy to watch scamper around.
What kind of snails do you have?
@@icarusclark1653 I wholeheartedly agree with OP. I just adore beetles. A perfect beginner species is the blue death feigning beetle (my first pet invert actually). Another good beginner species is the morio beetle (the adult of the superworm which can be found at any pet store as feeder insects). I pupated three superworms that I got from my friend’s brother who has a leopard gecko. The three beetles are all still alive after 13 months!
@@icarusclark1653i will say if you get a beetle or any bug that eats fruit make sure to thoroughly wash the fruit you give it to get rid of pesticides
This makes me feel like 10 yrs old watching animal planet or PBS
I just found this channel and it has me giggling with the absolute pristine vibes of the piano telegraphing the text... to think I was just feeling like watching some beetle videos...
I really love insects and other creepy crawlies, but beetles are my favorite! They make fantastic pets. They’re active, very entertaining, and even have their own personalities. Love these lil dudes ❤
So true. I recently got a pair of Homoderus mellyi, and they are the coolest things ever. Now I just have to wait for them to exit their 4-6 month long dormant stage...
His voice could put an elephant to sleep lmao
Why an elephant? 🤣 Are they known to have difficulty sleeping? 😮
it's like im watching a childrens educational video
I would love to see more videos on beetles, they’re some of my favorite creatures! You’re videos are always so calming and informative!! Love them so much ❤❤🪲🪲
I absolutely love your content and especially the way you format your videos! It brings me back to my childhood when I would watch animal documentaries all day! Thank you for this❤
I'm having nostalgia from the music and the video it makes me so happy to see them grow 🥺
The music and the soft narration gives me a strong Mr. Rodgers vibe.
I think beetles are so cool. Some of my favorite creatures. This was a great episode.
i feel like im in heaven whenever im watching a video of yours
Saw a few of this guy’s videos when he started out a couple years ago so awesome to see how much his content has improved
The larvae of Actaeon beetle can weight up to 200 grams. Saw one at Japanese beetle shop.
They look like little pieces of art. They're spectacular really!
I really like that he let the audience decide
Man I love this channel so much. It is a relaxing break from all the brain rot infecting CZcams. I wish you a lot of success and keep up the lovely informative content!
Idk.. seems to me that the Longhorn beetle got shortchanged here. If you turned the antennas the other way, it would be even longer than the way it was done in the video. I wonder why it was done this way.. like is there an official reason?
Probably because most if not all longhorned beetle antennae don't naturally point forward
@@scarabdust ohhh.. I had no idea, thank you
This video is like a bug learning video for adults. I love the simplicity and children’s books artistry
I'm just so in love with your channel. Great work, the narrative is relaxing and informative.
i didn’t expect that the really big beetles could still fly lol
why are your videos so satisfying.....!! your videos are informative as well as mellifluous.
What's more satisfying than the piano keys playing every time he wants to emphasize some things.
You should add the little sound effects in the ad segment as well. It tickles my brain and I just really like it.
if i saw that huge beetle larva irl, i wouldnt think its a beetle at first. i would assume its an overfed caterpillar. so the largest beetle for me is the hercules beetle.
Bro took “explain it like I’m 3” to a whole nother level
Just loved the piano chords! It made the video so much more immersive and relaxing. Congrats for the great content!
I have western Hercules beetle tattoo. The whiteish grey beetles with black spot. So cool to know that large of a beetle is In North America.
Crazy part is a lot of them fly I’m just so happy they don’t live around me. Only the June beetles do
these videos are surreal, in the best way
I feel like I could fall asleep to this IN A GOOD WAY!!!😃😃😃
Dude I am absolutely tripping balls watching this video I’ve never been more entertained in my life
When you started pointing out the wings I thought you’d start to measure that (like birds wingspan). I guess just another way to distinct how “big” an insect is, but really crazy how many different ways a question can be answered.
The video is so calm and I just love this.
I feel like you should do asmr as your voice is very soothing and would work very well for it
Honestly really great watching these videos, so nice
i love this and your vids in general! i beg you to make more beetle vids i love beetles sm
When the picture shows the "longhorn beetle" with the Hercules beetle, it is not a longhorn beetle but a titan beetle.
as a beetle enjoyer, thank you so much i love you
I hit my head on the table in shock that the (huge) larvae is that big! Thats quite big! Impressive, indeed
I Absolutely Friggin Love Beetles,
But I Still Am Absolutely Confused On How They Can Fly With The Aerodynamics Of A Grand Piano.
I'd count the fully grown ones only. It's like registering a newborn as the world's shortest person in the Guineas Book of World Records 😅
4:21 *“the largest Hercules are..about the length of. Your average banana”* 💀💀💀
"The horn that comes from it's head is called a head horn." "The horn that comes from it's thorax is called the t̶h̶o̶r̶a̶x̶ pronotal horn".
His voice is so soft im simping
I love how the most replayed part of the video is the transition between the sponsor to the video
I used to see beetles the way I see any other insects but after catching so many of them in animal crossing I finally understood the fun in catching them😅
5:11 No it’s to brush their teeth before bedtime
Sir you remind me of my childhood and the PBS tv channel. Thank you for the great content.
For me I think the Goliath beetle wins for biggest, very large friends that I'd like to watch walk around
Thanks for making these videos
Termind variants be getting wild out here
the fact that you said antennas and then antennae gave me psychic damage
I love your videos theyre so relaxing
watching your videos while doing my presentation project is so calming, i'm learning twice the information lol
my vote on largest beetle is on sir hercules beetle! when you said it's average size is basically a banana I straight up stared at my own palm for two minutes imagining the size of it crawling on me. That'd def be a huge beetle!
The Mighty Titan Beetle is a strong contender.
Thus is the best way to over the fear of bugs
From what I have learned "largeness" (not a real word 😂), is defined by weight and mass. The goliath beetle has both factors so it is safe to say it is the largest beetle
I GOT SO HAPPY SEEING THIS VIDEO!!
You should do videos on animals that actually make sounds.
Omg i love beetles i had one as a pet and they are so CUTE❤❤❤love the video really informative and interesting 😊
I appreciate the Hungry Hungry Caterpillar style of the diagrams
Put each beetle in a full tub of water, the more water that is displaced out of the tub of water the bigger the beetle
Him : “ this beetle is as large as a banana! , and can fly!”
Me : * starts to panic, then realizes that beetles like that doesn’t live in my country, “pheeew” *
Actually thought that wingspan will be a category watching along the video.
Giving me serious mister Roger vibes
I use to catch and play with Rhino beetles when I was young, I lived in the Philippines 🇵🇭😁
I also remember seeing one of these beetles bigger than an adult human hand.
I love huge crunchy looking beetles.
For the heaviest weight of Actaeon beetle larvae, it can be over 150 grams easily, some of them even can grow to 220 gram .
0:21 antennae*
the way he said "ah! wings" melted my heart :з
Scarabaeidae in general is amazing 👌
I thought you were gonna do one for the beetle with the longest wingspan/widest
Absolutely love this content dude, every video has me wanting more! Tbh I find beetles kinda creepy tho 😅
That last beetle reminds me of the Paradox Frog, a frog where the tadpoles were larger than the adults.
I love the music you use
I would also consider biggest wingspan
i wish humans could grow wings from their arms and be like a beetle
"largest beetles in earth"
Me looking at my volkswagen beetle:
Those beetles are so well behaved
Your videos are so cool!!!! 😄 Thank you an I appreciate all your hard work. I'm learning so much from watching them!!!! Your voice may seem normal to you but to me and others it sounds very unique. If you don't mind me asking, Where are you from?
The Mr.Roger's style piano is so good for this kind of content!~
Maybe you could talk about some crabs next?
4:27
we are talking about the fruit:
Lets take it as the size of a average rabbit or human head to not confuse people
What is it with people that make things that sound like ASMR but that really isn't getting sponsored by bespoke post
This guy went from collecting bugs in animal crossing and made it his career in CZcams!
