I said in 2016 that the election of Trump signals the end of the American Century. I think I have not been proven wrong. His presidency has allowed Xi, Modi, Putin and many smaller autocrats to create their "new world order" where everything is up for grabs. It is not ridiculous for the Supreme Court to refer cases to the district courts, to the extent that the facts must be assessed to know whether they are detachable from the office of president. The president's official acts are protected from attacks by the judiciary, but unofficial acts are not.
Sending professional killers, even if they are members of the armed forces acting on orders, to assassinate a political rival or the president's wife's lover: this is totally detachable from the presidential office, it is therefore a private act. In the same way, setting up an operation or instigating one to disrupt the electoral system while you are a candidate is a private act. It is up to the lower courts to establish the facts.

According to other podcasters - experienced trial attorneys - the message is that as of July 1, SCOTUS supports indulging trump or any president further than what you indicated. I understood their impression is that it will be difficult, from now on, for a prosecutor to prove that ANY act done by a president would be deemed illegal or criminal. Any case will be cautiously discerned to find flaws. That means even indictments for violent acts in or out of office could be refuted if a court picked apart the accusation thoroughly enough. So, if I'm interpreting their statements right, any presidential action can be considered necessary & job related. I'm not using correct legal terminology but it seems that any action ordered by a present or past president could be litigated by a lower court and if the verdict was guilty, then was appealed by SCOTUS, it would determine that the action that the president took was deemed necessary & legal and s/he is innocent.
NO ONE HAS DESTROYED AMERICA MORE THAN DEMONRATS.
Don't forget the conservative majority unapologetically tossing Chevron deference in the toilet. I don't think most people understand the importance of this ruling, but I do because of my prior experience as a journalist for a small trade publication covering nuclear energy when the decision establishing Chevron deference was issued, and who got a job in the U.S. House of Representatives only three years later when so many regulations issued by the EPA, FDA, Department of Labor, and other executive branch agencies were challenged by businesses who claimed these regulations would cost them too much money. They remain in effect because of Chevron difference and not a single industry lost any money because of them. All the complaints were nothing but crying wolf.
But now it will be up to a judge who's not a scientist or an expert on any of the issues Congress left to the experts at federal regulatory agencies whether regulations established through an extended process under the Administrative Procedure act, which includes public notice and opportunity for comment, can remain in place if they're challenged. The Federalist Society and other far-right conservatives have wanted to destroy this precedent ever since it was established in a 1984 ruling. They finally won thanks to the three right-wing U.S. Supreme Court justices appointed by Donald Trump, with the assistance of Mitch McConnell - all of whom insisted in sworn testimony during their confirmation hearings that they'd honor precedents. I guess they must have forgotten about their testimony in this ruling, as well as the Dobbs decision. Or else they're a liars who should be charged with perjury, but of course they can't be.
And as to today's decision on presidential immunity, I agree wholeheartedly with a legal analyst who said the liberal minority on the Supreme Court were actually the originalists in the majority decision given that is not supported by anything in the U.S. Constitution or any prior precedent for that matter. 🤬

But where my comment comes into play is your explanation of the supreme courts decision to over turn it. The decision to over turn it doesn’t take the control away from the specialist, agency, or scientist. Reversing the decision allows for judges, who know the laws and constitution, to determine whether the policy/regulation put in place is legal and constitutional. It prevents agencies from just implementing random policy/regulations without it have to clear the judiciary standard. So as they write and implement policy/regulation that is judicially sound then there should be no problem with a judge backing it.
By not actually explaining the full context of the reversal you are either being A. Purposeful disingenuous and trying to get people to your sides ideology or B. You don’t really know what you are talking about even with your heavy experienced background you felt the need to gloat about.
