I have a '24 Nismo- awesome car! Your criticisms are so gay, I wonder when you got neutered! I get more compliments on this car than any of the dozens of cars I've owned. Soon it will be a GT-R beater and still half the price, and look like a retro 240 which I love. A lot of the "outdated" fluff tech you guys diss, a lot of us still love for the retro feel. Something for everyone, I'm just glad I kept my balls long enough to buy my Nismo.
The lowest poor person iq take on the planet. The interior is shit. The front is ugly. The chassis is essentially 21 years old. Engine has been around in the q for almost a decade. Just a parts bin cheap ass money grab.
You actually explained why the gas door is so big... So that the gas pump would come in contact with the area under the gas lid instead the actual fender. I'll take the big lid versus scratches on the exterior paint. And besides, it doesn't affect the actual experience in anyway. Supra's is pretty sizable too.
You are the only person I've seen mention an understanding of this. I knew it the first time the car was launched by thinking for 20 seconds as to why an engineering team would do that. Not one single journalist came up with that conclusion. Congratulations, you have a great mind I'm glad to see your comment 👏
Should have done your homework before you bought it. I've had my 77 280z over 40 years. Doesn't have adjustable seats, dual climate control, not the fastest,etc.. but it's fun to drive. You've missed the whole point. Go buy a Tesla son.
I love the new Z! Sure, like every car there are certain things that could be better, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons in my personal opinion. This car has so much nostalgia packed into one car, literally everyone loves it.
Nissan/Infiniti decided to stop selling Q60RS which was 10 years in the market but still better than the new Z, SO they can sell the new Z with the price of Q60RS without AWD & luxury interior. This’s so disappointed me. I don’t know how’s going there but in my country (Australia), the new Z is so much overpriced.
The Z car is a tuners car, its meant to be modded, this is the first car since the Z32 that actually looks good in my opinion. You go to the back and you see the 300zx tail lights, then it looks like a 240z style on the front. Otherwise it has all the same features except a TT that is reliable and setup already, and a much higher hood and 19” rims. Typical Z style grille, small little window behind the doors, the same bar that goes across where the speakers normally are in an older Z. Hopefully when you turn the motor up, it doesnt make it sound like a 370z though. If the Z community doesnt like this one, they will be just as happy with their older Z’s that dont even have cupholders, and we dont care about that either
Really is a beautiful car...I want one, but don't love the 1-2 gear grind and some of the other things I've seen. Hopefully everything gets figured out in the next couple of years.
1-2 gear grind should of already been fixed 😁 that was an intial launch car issue but Nissan put out a stop-sale to correct the problem. 110% recommend picking one of these up, especially if you can get a second hand one to fight depreciation!
Just bought a new sport model last week. 01/24. No gear grinds on mine at all. I will say when you first get in the car it's easy to miss fourth and go back down into second, but once you get used to the gear range it's no problem. Just be careful speed shifting the manual. I love mine and the acceleration is massive. You can really fell when the turbos light up. As long as you keep you RPM's above 2500 they are readily available. Probably a dual scroll turbo that picks up quicker on a small turbo. Then the bigger one really rockets you down the road. I'll have to check that out. BUT....no gear grind.
Used to hate a lot of these "Dont buy this car" videos but as the meta of car youtubers shifts to selling the car rather than actually reviewing it, I started to appreciate the more honest reviews.
The 09 Z key fob said Nissan. I didnt have a Z on my fob till i got the 2011. I have little hope for this version of the Z. This will be the most expensive FI to mod for no reason.
Yea too be honest I rather have a 1986 Z like yours at least the 1986 300zx has t-tops I'd actually take a mint condition black 1987 with leather seats over the new Z
I’ve had Z’s since 1986. There is no vision to the overhead right and left! You can’t see a sh-load of items as you change lanes; the side mirrors suck too!
I stood next to the Z and it is massive. I am used to a 280ZX and 1990’s 300ZTT size sports car. The new Z feels like the size of a 4 door when standing next to it.
@@vk45de54 Sorry, I assumed it would be obvious I meant about $10k-ish jump in MSRP over previous Z. $35k+ dealer markup is irrelevant if people don't even think it's worth MSRP. Dealers are seriously smoking crack.
The only complaint I have is in the Nismo they could easily have squeezed out 450 hp and 400 lb ft of tourque. They could have put some new pistons in the engine or bored it to like 3.1 or 3.2 liters.
Three minutes into the video… If it’s not broke, don’t fix it. The key fob has a battery, a couple of buttons and a key just in case. If I’m not mistaken, I believe I’ve watched one of your previous videos where you bashed the 370, sketchy… Are you a Z owner and purchaser or do you operate under the guise of such to discredit a fair priced, punchy, underrated sports car?
The new Nismo Z is the one they should have built for everyone. It’s a differant car that the performance. And you said 2023 and they are still using a gas cap? What else would they be using? If just the suspension and exhaust were redone on the performance it would be much better.
Supra is a faster car obviously. It has one of the best engines BMW currently has in their lineup. If you could find a sport trim bare bones, at sticker and put about $7500 into after market performance bits in rubber, suspension, intake and exhaust no think it’s still a pretty fair value in 2023. All things considered…Looks wise, comparatively speaking. I bought the 350Z straight of the showroom floor of Glendale z Nissan in L.A. in Oct of 2002. 6-7 years without the Z in their lineup, that car was highly anticipated and was a real performer for its day and if you bought the right trim, an absolute value. I bought the base, all engines were the same throughout the 5 trims for the 03’ MY. $27,995 MSRP. There was a markup on it due to the insane demand. 287 HP out the factory. Mustang GT made less I wanna say around 250-275 range. Camaro was on its way to retirement so they were marked up too in L.A. at least. Such a phenomenal car. Buy the right spec and it’s really a fair value for performance. Supra interior is nicer for sure but it’s also more expensive. In reality, good luck getting any brand new Supra with the B58 at MSRP. Especially a manual. The Z with s manual and 400 HP can be had for around $42k right now in many markets. The Supra is almost in another league playing with the big boys like the Mustang and Camaro. I’m some reviews it’s even a tick faster believe or not in a straight line. And the Mustang MACH 1 destroyed the Supra on a track tested by Car and Driver. Which is kind of a role reversal of why you buy those two cars. If you view the Z from a stand alone view at $42k and can add a few $ after market and keep it around $48k all told. I feel it’s a Greta value. It also looks great. Stunning! Except for that damn front end. I can’t do it. It looks ridiculous. Like some POKÉMON fish or something. Just very Japanese, obtuse stylistically. But hey, it will be in front of most cars on the road so should be a non issue
Driving a 3700 pound 2023 Nissan Z34 with 400hp is like driving a 3400 pound 400hp Z32 with a 300 pound fat chick as a passenger.😂 No one left their Z32 twin turbos stock so they're all faster than the new Z.
T-Top? Stupid, this is a 240Z/Fairlady reinterpretation. I know, you weren't even planned then, but take look at 240Z, 260Z and 280Z, and you'll understand. Exhaust is a thing of regulation's especially when choosing the manual version. With manual gearbox is whisper time
I like nissan keeping things original from previous models like the interior almost similar. Hey Toyota's best vehicle, the 4 runner has been the same since 2014 on the interior, just with little tech innovation an styling, just like the z.
This Z is the same old 350Z from 20+ years ago just with the most basic as expected modern twists, but nothing mind blowing. They’re probably using the same machines that made the body parts on the 300z
I’ve only watched about the first 30 seconds of the video. If you thought the gas door was so obtrusive, why did you buy the vehicle. It seems like a big issue for you or is this a bashing video and you actually work for someone else? And also, it’s a gas cap. We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel. They work. Plus, I would rather something screw over and securely seal the entryway into the basic lifeline to my engine. I feel much better about that.
You are right the Z is better looking than the Supra and the Corvette. I wish they had another rim option though. I like the black but I would like to see some differant color rims. If I bought 1 I would try and get the Nismo if not I’d get the performance and put a new exhaust on it and new suspension on it and maybe put that bigger oil cooler on it that the Nismo has. If I could really go crazy with it I would have the engine pulled and bored to 3.2 and put new titanium pistons and a differant cam in it. It would be pretty easy to squeeze 450 hp out of this engine. It would t be too hard to get 500 but 400-475 is the sweet spot.
i don't think you've looked at a Corvette with your eyes open? I love some Z's, not this new one, but a C8 is stunningly more sports car and aggressive and classy and sophisticated looking than any new Z, and the interior of a vette is about nine times more regal, inviting, exciting, and engaging and comfortable....the Z is honestly a HUGE compromise of bad judgement from Nissan....has potential...but needs a new front end, better materials, should have been redesigned about three more go rounds at the pow wow meetings to really refine it.
You are a picky car buyer. This is no family car to expect dual climate zones (its a 2 door lol tiny space). Does the size of the gas tank lid really matters? And what is wrong with a gas cap, they been working flawlessly for decades. And at this price range what better new car can you buy with 50k? Supra is just a bmw reskin. This car has unique design taking notes of the old 240-80Zs. And it looks great. You trully dont get the point of why this car was built.
That shit will blow. The vr30 is far more reliable under boost. 789whp and 600lbft of torque with vrx70 turbos. The engine is in the q50, but the Nissan z base manual is lighter.
In Australia, this costs 87-95 grand depending on the extras and transmission you choose. For what you get with the interior and everything, this seems like a rip off for me. The Supra in about 10 grand more but you get a very nice interior and car overall..
I dont think people realize why you shoild buy this car but let me explain WARRANTY yes its CHEAPER to buy a 370 and turbo but you aint going to get WARRANTY ontop of that you need liquid cash for that people can easily pay a 7k down payment and they will have a new z all said and done
It is a "parts bin" car. Same old platform with an old suspension. Nissan almost went bankrupt a few years ago. And all they could afford was a "reskinned" Z. Look at the air ducts. They're the same as the last gen car. I don't like the Z or the Supra. But the Supra will handle better.
The only way to go is base model with your own upgrades. The performance model is idiotic and the new Nismo model is ridiculous. a base model, a couple years from now when they hit the used market, I would buy one for 35k. no more. And then spend a few grand with a Z1 and CZP like I did with my 350Z. that ludicrous performance model should be plus 5K and the nismo should be another plus 5K. these prices are insane. The difference between the base and performance? Will the parts they put on the performance are what should have been in the base in the first place! I don't want that shit for suspension anyway so why buy the upgraded model for over 10 grand? JFC... honestly, I like the look of it, I also like it a little better than the 370Z roofline, but performance is not acceptable. therefore, if I'm replacing all of the suspension and bushings myself anyway, might as well start off with the base model.
The performance is great for the 46 off the lot price I paid and tires aren't 700 bucks a pop. I love it and couldn't be happier. Plenty of juice under the hood.
Its more worth it to get a 370z and mod it honestly. You probably be at 50k all said and done. Why tf does the back look like a mustang...deal breaker.
4:05 It would be easier and more cost effective for you to get a taller wife than it would be for Nissan to redesign the seats in the Z... But if you must keep your wife, try buying a child's booster seat.
A person who buys a 1st release of a totally new gen model, is a fool, a stupid person. It has everything to do with the current phenomenon of rampant FOMO syndrome. Only to realize the car company has employed you as their last in line BETA TESTER!!!! There are always niggling faults and rush jobs done on these cars. Most of witch will be corrected by the next facelift.
Well it sure worked I out well for Me buying a 2020 Supra. At least the 2020 has a unlocked ECU which makes a hell of a difference in power in tuning! U have a 2021 & up u can't tune it. Have to spend a 3k plus to get it cloned.

You've never loved a Japanese sports car enough to understand half the stuff you trashed on the Z
The fact that my wife can't see to drive it should be the #1 reason to buy it.😁
If you have a tech crew, why are you filming selfie style?
Thank you for pointing those reasons out. None really bother me, except for the bucket seats which are not height adjustable. 😐

I've heard the capless gas tanks cost quite a bit to replace when the seals go bad. I'd rather have a normal gas cap.
This guy is NEW SCHOOL.
the beginning where you're talking about the gas tank door was hilarious. literally looks like a paper plate
I'd would like to see the improved version of your Nissan Z, although it would weigh another 300 lbs, and it wouldn't be much of a sports car anymore.
Would you just look at it? Just look at it!
I have a 370 and the filler handle would scratch my wide fender every time I fill up the car. Somebody at Nissan thought ahead on this one.

Plenty of juice under the hood.
not having the Key holder makes no sense
Its more worth it to get a 370z and mod it honestly. You probably be at 50k all said and done.
Why tf does the back look like a mustang...deal breaker.
lol why did you buy it because you seen it when you first saw it ? This is how you grab attention of your views and it worked
I want my braincells back
4:05 It would be easier and more cost effective for you to get a taller wife than it would be for Nissan to redesign the seats in the Z...
But if you must keep your wife, try buying a child's booster seat.
The targa was one of my biggest gripes. My second gripe is that there is no 2+2. Now the GTR and the Q60 is discontinued. Give us a 2+2 targa
Trade it for a new Supra. Way better.
My wife's tiny little Kicks has the same azz key!
The only problem i can see is that its a auto.
That is why car dealers offer test drives so we won’t have to watch trash reviews like this.
the Z does have an updated key you brokey
bro is fs spoiled
Hard work man, pays off
If you can afford it go for it.@@theautotalk
I am bin thinking to get Z but I changed my mind. I got Challenger
Everything he said just seems extremely knit picky to me.
Rather have a scat
So you want the nozzle to hit your car and not hitting the fender is a bad thing? Oh this is just pointless nitpicking video. Got it
Don’t buy yet you have it
First world problems champ.. need some wine with that cheese
I don't have time for this... the car isn't for you.
talk about nissan being outdated...bruh what are you recording with a i phone 7 😂
Don’t talk about the 370!!!
my dude you just whinging about tiny things its a beautiful car, just enjoy it.
Pickup the Q50 Red Sport for 20k
Stupid is a reason of not buying this car
Old ones are better. 90s
Plenty of vanilla cars for you.
But now I get to tell you all of the faults 😉
Is it really even considered a 1st release? It's basically just a parts bin car of a previous release.

Without the people who buy first you won't get another and more improved version later down the road
Well it sure worked I out well for Me buying a 2020 Supra. At least the 2020 has a unlocked ECU which makes a hell of a difference in power in tuning! U have a 2021 & up u can't tune it. Have to spend a 3k plus to get it cloned.
Lmaooo, still has a gas cap…don’t buy 💀
I couldn’t care less about the gas filler really stupid to care about such little #MIN new things
