    DIY Detail states that Interior Ceramic Coating utilizes technology to Seal the surface and increase surface tension, creating a surface with increased stain resistance and less wear and tear. It provides UV protection and makes cleanups a lot easier. And it has antistatic properties to help reduce the amount of dust that collects on the surfaces.
    You can apply it to pretty much any interior surface, except for glass: plastics, leather, vinyl, piano black trim, metal trim, wood trim, infotainment displays, fabrics, carpets, upholstery, alcantara, instrument cluster, etc.
    DURABILITY: Abrasion/friction is the main determining factor. On high traffic areas like floor mats, you can expect 3-4 months of durability. On the driver's seat, up to one year. For the rest of the interior, a few years.
    Important: If you already have an interior protection applied, wait until it fades before applying the DIY Detail Interior Ceramic. You can also use the DIY Detail All Purpose Cleaner diluted 1:30 to prep the interior surfaces prior to applying the Interior Ceramic.
    Maintenance: Once you apply the ceramic, wait two weeks, and then you can use an interior quick detailer or a rinseless wash diluted 256:1 for maintenance cleanings.

    I love DIY Detail's products and this is no exception! I applied it about 6 months ago on my 2023 Subaru Impreza and my wife's Mazda CX5 as well and it's holding up nicely! I also applied it to my Weather Tech floor mats and it's been fantastic on these as well (although it lasts only about 3-4 months on these but that's understandable considering the constant friction from shoes, etc.). One thing I did notice on the Subaru's plastic on the doors only is it attracts static (and therefore pet hair if you have it on your clothes). It's very specific to the Subaru's plastic though as I don't have any issues with the Mazda's plastic. I will continue to using it on my cars for sure!

    As a professional detailer, I never recommended "professional" interior coatings (I have done only 3, in 5 years)..... I could not get behind them because the benefits never justified the cost. Not that I thought they didn't work, They do! But, I also felt regular interior "dressings" were lacking in protection and durability. DIY Detail Interior Ceramic was a much-needed product and is perfectly placed in the market, at a much more reasonable price. It's an easily applied product for the consumer, as well as a great addition to professionals who want to offer this as an additional service/upgrade, at a much more reasonable price.

    • @ryanl8653
      @ryanl8653 Před 7 měsíci +10

      @@davidsteckley8846 We are talking about INTERIOR ceramic! which P&S does not have. Implying DIY Interior Ceramic can't also be used by professionals, is like saying P&S can't be used by consumers, illogical! P&S makes some good stuff and they perform satisfactorily for a lot of detailers. I also happen to know, that DIY Interior Ceramic during testing outperformed some "professional" interior coatings.

      I wonder if, in spite of the 24 hours allowed for the coating to outgas, if the well-above 100F interior temps can inspire more outgassing and to an extent that breathing it in can be a problem.

    Pan I applied Interior Ceramoc to two of my vehicles a year ago and this product works amazingly well. A week after I applied it my daughter spilled Dr. Pepper on the carpets and the spill cleaned up very quickly and there was no staining at all. This product also helps protect against blue jean transfer on leather seats. For the plastic parts of your vehicle you will use a minimal amount of product. For your carpets you will use some product but it is worth it for the protection you receive. If you have ever seen scotchguard applied to carpet during manufacturing you will understand why carpets need more product.
    For maintenance a microfiber soaking in my rinseless wash bucket will be more than enough. After cleaning I quickly go over the surfaces with Interior Clean and Protect to add protection. The biggest advantage to this system is dusting is significantly reduced in the interior.
    Thank you for the video Pan and for all you do contributing to the detailing world!

    Have you done any reviews on Car Pro Leather 2.0? I have applied it on a couple of my cars and it does a nice job. I don't eat or drink in my car, other than having bottled water for the drive in the door panel, so I can't say whether or not it works for spillage or dye transfer. However, I have tested it on my leather seats for beading and it does bead nicely. I've spoken with the folks at Sky's The Limit, where I purchase all my Car Pro products, and they said they revised the formula due to an issue they were having with the original formula. From what I'm told, the first version was a ceramic product. I don't know what problem(s) they had with it, but it was revised to an acrylic/ceramic fusion. I never used the old formula, but I am using the 2.0 version, and it's very nice. It dries to a mat finish (manufacturer look) and it gives a mildly darker and richer look without any shine or heavy gloss. I'd like to see you review it and give your opinion. It applies like a ceramic, using a foam block poured from a glass bottle. Maybe you have reviewed it already, In which case, please direct me to the video.

      It doesn’t alter the appearance of the surface, so it keeps the factory fresh appearance. There would be no difference in “before” and “after” applying this coating visually. Hence why I didn’t make that comparison.
      You can see as I apply it, it blends in and doesn’t change the look of the surfaces. What it does is protect them.

    • @diydetailofficial

I usually use 303 Automotive Protectant on my customers vehicles as they love the lasting protection and the OEM look, but i would like to offer this as an option as well in my detail package. What would you suggest to best remove the existing 303 from the interior surfaces prior to applying the DIY Details interior Ceramic on the previously 303 coated surfaces? I'm about to do my first detail inside and out (newbie) and I'm wondering if I should apply the interior DIY ceramic coating on top of the leather shield. I'm just wondering if this is necessary or harmful, ineffective or what? It would be interesting to know how it interacts with the fibres of the carpet, plastics et al. How long the protection lasts.

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial Před 7 měsíci +2

      It’s a very thin liquid that adheres to the surface of the carpet fibre making staining difficult. For leather it doesn’t block the pores, instead coats the pores.
      Protection durability is dependent on abrasion.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 7 měsíci

      DIY Detail states that abrasion/friction is the main determining factor of durability. On high traffic areas like floor mats, 3-4 months. About a year on the driver’s seat. A few years for the rest of the interior.

  • @Burtannia
    @Burtannia Před 7 měsíci +2

    Are there any potential health risks associated with putting a coating like this on interior surfaces that will be touched frequently, especially where people may also be eating?
    Secondly, what sort of durability can we expect from this coating? The price is much higher than that of dedicated leather and fabric protectants so, other than the "all surfaces" use case, what's the benefit?

    • @diydetailofficial
      @diydetailofficial Před 7 měsíci +2

      Once cured( +/- 30 minutes) it’s completely inert, and will have no effects. For durability, on high traffic areas like the floor mats expect 3-4 months, on a daily driven car expect a year on the drivers seat, for the rest of the interior several years.

Not sure of the percentage in this interior ceramic, but all products containing Si02 are not friendly to our lungs. When used in an aerosol form, the potential risk is much higher. Add to that, it's use inside an enclosed vehicle... well, I hope you can see my point. I haven't been able to find the MSDS on this product (or other similar ones), but would be shocked if it didn't state respiratory warnings. Not bashing the product, I've used its recently myself, but was surprised how strong the smell was and found it still noticeable after a week of daily driving.
