One can only wonder why GM designed this engine to be removed so easily.

I’d still take this over any Chrysler product.

The reason why these engines go out quickly is because people don't change their oil when they need too. Maintenance is VERY important on ANY turbocharged engine, because the turbo needs good quality oil to last a long time. If a turbo spins up with dirty oil, it wears out the bearing that spins the blade, and it overheats the turbo causing it to crack. My advice is to change the oil at 4-5k miles. It's not just the Cruze that has problems, it's other vehicles that have a turbo. Some people are too lazy or not knowledgeable to change the oil. But at least with the Cruze, a brand-new replacement turbocharger costs $250. Most other cars costs $500+ just for the turbo. It's really simple to replace the turbo by yourself on a Cruze.

Most disappointing engine I have owned to date. constant oil leaks and mis-fires.

I have a 2015 Trax with 171,564 miles on it with no major repairs. Still running strong.

Haha we have had our head gasket replaced, and a lot of engine parts. These cars are junk! Don’t get me started on the water pump

Good to see this done without a hoist! Now I won't be sacred to try one if I ever purchase a project like this!

Great video guys. As stated in previous videos, the crack in the turbo is a very common failure. The turbos aren't very reliable. I have a sonic with 160,000 miles with manual. Seems to be good still.

That crack is very normal on 1.4l turbos!!! I’m not saying it’s good just normal 👍🇺🇸

I got a 2014 Chevy cruze 1.4 turbo and the motor was blown so I got a used one that came out of a buick encore & on the balancer and water pump has it has 5 splines on the pulleys but on the cruze it has 4 splines would it still be fine? I have no choice but to use a 4 spline drive belt for now unless otherwise if that makes sense I’m hesitant on putting the Cruze balancer on the buick motor because it’s a 40,000 mile motor
