This was fun. Would be cool to see you also do a "no flavor events" and an "everyone gets generic National Ideas" run. It would be extra cool if you branched out to all 4 combinations afterwards. Imagine, EU4 but no flavor events, all generic mission trees, and everyone with generic National Ideas.

For me this PDX policy when mission trees nowadays are the main content is TRAGIC. But the people pay, the game engine can't handle more. Is there another way - adding universal mechanics? Seeing government reforms flavour, I answer "Yes!"
as a no DLC user(im broke), this is not the no DLC experience.
its not completely blank(mostly), just that regions all share the same trees except for intersting nations
I really like the Danish Mission tree... other than that the new Zororastrian Persia one is FIRE!
Probably Polish and Lithuanian mission trees are my favourite in whole game. Very fun and OP af.

The Ottomans probably expanded more into the east as it was their culture group. Without those permaclaims in the balkans they wont push that much into it before becoming empire rank

This sounds like a mod fit for multiplayer.
I think Chewbert's next play through needs to be Byzantium with this mod. With the estates they get should be interesting. 😅

Love the chinese worlord missions so many strong buffs like: 10% all power cost, 20% gov cap, cores on all of china (gov reform), perma clames on Manchuria Indochina and Tibet and even better version of the Iberian holy orders.
Chewbert i have an idea for you, or rather a challenge!
Create a custom nation with a max 250 points, spend it however you want. But you can not start in the New World. and become one of the Great Powers by the end of the game by only observing, in other words: You have to END the game as a top 8 Great Power nation. Will you crumble and be forgotten, or can you change history?
(I have done it myself with 300 points, but failed on 250)

I got two ideas for videos that i think would be cool to watch.
First idea: every continent or superregion gets their special subject type/empire mechanic. So like in west europe france would habe the entire superregion as appanages. East europe would be the hre. Middle east could be the prionars for Byzantium. Asia would be mandate of heaven and so on.
Idea two: the Alphabet battle royale. So every letter of the alphabet becomes a custom nation and every province starting with the respective letter is part of that nation. NI maybe too but i'm not sure if that's possible with letters like X or Q.
If it's not too much of a hassle to set these videos up, then i'd love to see them.

Day 3 of asking chewy to do a video on eu4 but reformatioj centres spawn all over the world and change religion to a random one.
Idk if it would be possible but could you remove the ability to end a war? Meaning every time they declare war it just goes on forever. I'm curious how dysfunctional it could be :)

You know it's been years but i still hate the mission trees and want the old mission system back. The mission trees really screwed over the minor countries.
I feel like missions should be more dynamic and favour huge nations less. A more dynamic mission system with culture + religion + region based missions
So how the old missions were, then. What's more, there were also repeatable missions that filled the gap between modern Hearts of EU4 mission trees, and the estate system.
There was a better direction they could have taken back then besides the modern power creep, and it's sad that the best they can do nowadays is just overfluff trees and ruin the sandbox element the game used to have.
