  • I found a free craftsman snowplow in the trash. Great find, only I have to engineer a way to mount it and craft a lift mechanism.
Turns out amazon sells similar craftsman snow plows! Check them out here!

You're clever man. I like it I'm doing the same right now.

I was anxious to see the end result. I think your version of mounting is better than the original .

The only addition I can see is that the Craftsman blades include a skid plate on the bottom on both ends to hold the blade slightly off of the surface. That prevents jamming into cracks in the driveway, gravel, etc. Usually, it's an L shape, facing backwards. The part attached to the blade for the bolt has a channel so the skid can be adjusted for distance blade is off the ground. It had attached to one of the bolts holding the moulding so that was only an inch or so off the ground and made easy adjustments. If you added to your deeper moulding, I assume you would have to add with separate bolts, if you so desired.
But you definitely turned "cheap" acquisitions into fantastic, useful tools. I watched because I have the option of picking up something similar, all in pieces and was trying to figure out if it is even possible to convert it to fit before I bothered. At least you have me some ideas. Now I just need to see if and how I can take on the job. Thanks.
