This brought back memories. When I was 6 my dad decided it was time to train me to use his brand new 1986 Craftsman 38” riding mower just like this. I ran over a sprinkler 😂 but the machine took in stride. They don’t make’em like this anymore.👍🏻👏🏻

This is now 3years old and looking at this machine ,just like the car of the rod era the machines were more robust and better built! Possibly because they were made in America! Simpler to work on and modify! Less intrusive complications!

I just paid $200. for a used but running Sears GT 3000, top of the line machine with wheel weights and deck, I had a Sears Snow plow from my old yard tractor I am now selling for much more that the cost of the new mower Snow Plow.... I love getting free or great purchase deals for next to free. Subscribed to your channel.

Picked up a very similar machine (1990 Craftsman ll with 14 hp B&S twin) with Bercomac 40" snowblower of similar vintage. Added wheel weights, 600 CCA battery, LED lights, brake pad replacement, and a tune up. Works like a top!! I could not be happier!!. Yours was free, I paid $650 for mine, but boy oh boy does she move the snow. After moving 14" of snow around the yard this winter, I wonder why I took so long to pick a ride'em snowblower up. Happy as a pig when McDonalds cancelled the McRib. Bought the parts and hardware to "motorize" the snow chute swivel and elevation this summer. Going to be fun!!

@@5beesgarage next year. deflate the tires , put the chains even tighter than now, and re-inflate until the chains are tight and no tensioners needed!

do you still have the bagger and mow deck for your craftsman lawn tractor even that you keep the plow on it ?
I do have both. The tube that goes from the deck to the bagger is cracked and in need of repair.
Where did you get the plow? I have that exact mower.
The plow came with the mower.
I have the plow and the bar. I think I'm missing the separate piece that you bolted on. Got the mower used, and it came with some plow parts. I'd like to use the damn thing, if I can figure it out!
Used is always a challenge. I have a video coming soon on a Craftsman GT getting a plow installed with some missing parts. Thanks for the comment.
@@5beesgarage I have the blade, and a long bar that the blade attaches to. Anything else I'm missing? I think the blade drops like the deck drops and the angle is easy to set, there are 3 positions. It will be spring before we get ample snowfall worthy of a scrape.

This is an old unit. You could try looking on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace.
curious if your bagger works? i have the same exact tractor and the blades don't have enough lift to get the clippings into the bag. after researching this, it was a poor design to begin with and everyone has the same issue.

I have this exact tractor and plow. Is there a good way to remove the plow just enough to drive the tractor around during the summer? I don't need to use any other attachments or cut grass and want it to be easy to throw the plow back on in the fall.
Most times on these riding mower there is bracketry that needs to ne installed/removed to mount the mower deck and/or plow.

No. I use the GT unless it is a small amount of snow.
