Winter Supply Run in Remote Alaska | Snow Machining & Tractor Plowing

- Before we get all the comments, we do plan on getting good helmets for our snow machine rides! We had some hand-me-downs that we thought would work great but they fog up really badly and make the ride more dangerous than it is without them. Currently, we are only riding on the road to get from property to property. We are picking up some better helmets before we do any trail riding!
Now that we got that out of the way, this video was so much fun to make! We have been very excited to break out the snow machines and figure out what going to town will look like.
For those of you who may not know, we are currently staying in Levi's parents' guest cabin while we build the cabin and homestead. Their cabins are about 3 miles past winter road maintenance. That means we have to snow machine out to get to a truck and then head to town!
Luckily, we bought our property ON winter road maintenance. This gives us a place to park our trucks and snow machines to go back and forth to town when needed. We are so grateful to not be parking on the main road with the weekend in/out people!
With all that being said, this video is our first round of heading to town with our new way of transportation, the snow machine! We could run the snow machine and sled all the way to town but we wanted to get the property plowed with the tractor and need to figure out all the transitions before the baby gets here. Just a few weeks left!
We have been having a lot of fun in the snow since the work at the property slowed down this winter. Our new snow machine makes it possible for us to keep heading out when needed and keeps the cabin fever at bay.
At the time of this posting, we are a little over 2 weeks from the due date of our first baby! Stay tuned for all of the baby excitement but also don't be surprised if we have a week or so with no videos. We are working on some to fill the gaps but can't promise that there won't be any gaps.

Ahhhh true Alaskan. I was out cutting down a Christmas Tree on public land in a snow storm while 9 months pregnant. Had Susan Chrismas Eve. This was 1972 in Anchorage. You are a trooper Becca❤

Ill give you a tip! You can move snow a lot quicker if you use the backblade when you are backing up! That way you do twice the work in half the time! I cleared a half mile road and 6 yards and driveways in 2 hours with 2 feet of wet sticky snow! And push several down trees out of the way!

I think you should get a cover for the snow plow ,for where you husband sits ,even if it’s not heated at least it might help.

40 weeks is the normal "due date"! So yes, very close. My midwives have been telling me that it is very common for first time moms to be late though so fingers crossed I stick with that statistic!

The cabin we currently live in is past winter road maintenance so snowmobiles are the only way in and out all winter!

Aw, thank you so much! It will definitely take that long to get here, totally normal!! Also, it will probably send you a notification saying something like, "package left at carrier location" once it's delivered. All that means is that it's waiting for us at the post office. 🥰🤗

We've been seeing a lot more moose tracks on the road and figure it's because it is easier walking! Now I understand why so many moose calves don't make it. It's tough out there!
