You know what will be amazing: Having a Career mode. You as a young boy going to Flying School. After getting your Pilot License(PPL), Then your CPL starts your career eg. with a very small Courier Company(s) racking up flying hours. You then work your way up in big Airliners flying planes like the Airbus 747 and A380. That will give you purpose and imagine the lifespan of the game.
I can recommend NeoFly for this:)
What an awesome idea.
Another vote for neofly. It's amazing and best of all free.
Airbus 747?
They are adding that in msfs 2024
Love it! Exactly what I needed to get back into the A320 when I only have a few hours to fly and enjoy.
Always good to briefly cover the basics of sim brief and the flypad too.. New people are beginning their journey with msfs all the time and it could be new to them.
Great job!!
This is just what i needed after almost 2 years flying GA planes.
I'm debating flying this again, I just enjoy the CJ4 alot though, especially when I can get going in 10m compared to the half hour plus in theA320
Appreciate this a lot. Im just getting into flight sim stuff and it’s been a hell of a time learning. This video by far is the best I’ve found to learn. Not to say others don’t have great videos , this one just matches my style of learning the closest as you answer the questions I would have asked. You’ve gotten me from the point where I can do a Cessna flight just A to B , to now I’ve managed to take off and land the a320 and all I have left to do is figure out the descent and how to manage all that which I will learn from this video the more I watch and study it
I've just started using the A32NX and as a person who is new to MSFS, this video is a godsend! Thank you.
I’m a newbie to msfs and this is really helping me out, many thanks
Thanks for the tutorial! That Delta livery was always my favorite growing up
Phenomenal tutorial as always!
Thanks Overkill! Finally got a PC that can run MSFS well! Love the airbus family, gonna try to get proficient with the A32NX. Wish me luck haha
Excellent!!. Thank you. Learned a lot and thank you for the no nonsense quick tutorial. Love the fact that corrections needed to be made. Helps a lot.
Yeah, agree, good to see mistakes, pick up new things and they tend to stick in your memory.
Great video especially for those who have been away from an Airbus cockpit for a while, like me.
Thank you for this excellent tutorial. One question I have: how did you determine the initial altitude of 7,000' and the 19,000' you entered into the autopilot prior to entering your cruising altitude?
Great video. Really engaging commentary on what you're doing throughout, explaining everything nicely, and not ashamed of mistakes! Mistakes teach so many lessons they're so important! If you fill in the approach perf page fully, and leave the speed on auto during the approach, after you hit the deceleration point (the small magenta D in a circle on the ND) it will enter the approach phase and automatically slow the aircraft, then as you add flaps it will drop the speed bug down for each stage of flaps you add. Really takes some of the guesswork out of slowing for approach. In the real world or VATSIM the tower will usually try and get you to maintain a speed to a certain distance for traffic separation and it can really get tricky 😅
This is a god send for vatsim, planning to use it for my flights across the west coast…probably the best plane
Thanks for making this :)
The STAR chart for Boove 5 arrival says "expect radar vectors to final approach course"...that's why there is the discontinuity.
Yep, if ATC is offline, you’d fly that heading on a downwind, descend to about 5000, then turn base when appropriate and then final
Very informative,
thank you!
Fantastic, very helpful
42:50 How do you get your mouse cursor to be an arrow mine did months ago an since I Updated my sim I stop seeing it and now can't change the Qnh to STD BTW great tutorial!
This is the level I like to sim at . As real as possible but also remembering it’s just a sim and I’m trying to have fun.
You explained everything very well and precisely. Other vids take hours. Can't where for VNAV to be implemented.
Thanks very much for this video.
Nicely done. We learn from our mistakes. Thanks for this.
Glad it was helpful!
@@OverkillSimulationsexcuse me, what atc are you using?
@@jordanwilliams2557i don’t think he’s using ATC for this
Hi, really enjoyed your stream, very informative. Just wondering, does this aircraft have cabin views?
Great video, thanks.
Perfect video. Thankyou.
Still helpful a year later, this bird is definitely simple to learn and fly.
Nice Tutorial! Thank for sharing. Any tips on keyboard setup? Mine doesnt register when I click on the MCDU screen so I can type my inputs.
Does the APPR button on the FCU do that same as launching the Approach from MCDU ? Also it seems its very difficult to push and pull the knobs on the th FCU (Heading Throttle etc)
Always fun and interesting to watch these ! thanks
Thank you so much for this tutorial!
Thank you for watching it :)
Thank you for the great tutorial, now i just need to figure out how to taxi the aircraft lol.
How do you know what star, sid, transfer if it doesn’t show up in simbrief? I’ve had cases where a 15-20 min flight would be double cause the ones on the sim brief aren’t there… or sometimes a longer flight they show up but then at the end there’s some weird loop that doesn’t connect lol pls help if you know
Hello, I got a question. When I take off, im following the flight director but as you say, on about 4000-4100 feet you have to pitch the nose down because of the flight director, but my flight director isn’t pitching down. Any way to fix that?
I followed all your steps to the tea and use the even the same flight. Thank you for making this video. On the other hand I was not able to contact clearance for an IFR clearance, the option was not there, it was just ground that's the only option
I know im a bit late but i think that you need to turn of the ai radio thing you maby have figeritout now bjt if now
Do you use the navigraph to figure out what altitude to be at on the different waypoints?
Where do you learn all of these procedures (like where to turn off and on all these lights, all of the fuel stuff, etc.)
Hey man, loved this tutorial. Do you think you could do the CRJ in MSFS if you haven't already?
You have an awesome profile picture mate!
Hey there, you using anything new for the Flex temp? I know that website is down now.
where did you get your numbers for stuff like initial altitude at 7,000 and the next at 19? I'm trying to follow along with the same route in this video and idk if that's a standard number or if it's somewhere I missed in the OFP.
I'm just learning to fly these and been studying CZcamss. In one CZcams I saw, the user set the Altitude level to Cruise level at the beginning of the flight and set it to Managed Mode until TOD. The plane automatically adjusted its levels based on the constraints at the waypoints. Then at TOD, he set the level to the Glideslope intercept level, and the plane followed all the Contraints going down. He had the CSTR button on. However, in your video, it seems like you tried to do that on descent and then went back to changing the altitude level to match the constraints of the various waypoints. How is it supposed to work?
I didn't turn the AP on as suggested and wound up 100s of miles of the route. When I tried to turn it on it would not engage. What did I miss here?
So when you “engage autopilot” on this plane, what does that do?
Are you manually banking and turning? Because it seemed like altitude was being handled without you even with autopilot off.
@kyle hennen the plane flys itself on autopilot it follows the route (the thing he set up in the tiny computer) and flys to the airport the only thing people do is takeoff taxi and landings the plane can even fly the approach or land itself if really needed
Are you supposed to turn off APU once engines start?
Hello, some plane keys are disabled for me. How can I activate them?
Can u make flight plans from the menu or do we need Simbrief?
Great tutorial, little bit disappointed that you didn’t show the procedures of parking the aircraft and shutting it off. But for the rest very informative
Great video! I think they start up the APU as soon as they leave the runway onto the taxi way. Dont know for sure though
Yes they do:) so it's ready if they reach the gate and ground power isn't available. You're correct
couldn't access the W\B menu like you did in the video. New version changed the way this behaves?
Great video but if you could also add timestamps in the description that’d be amazing
One questions why is my route on simbrief always DCT and doesn’t have VIAS and STARS?
there needs to be a 747 edition of this mod would love it
Love this video! Would you be interested in personally assisting me in setting up my computer settings so I can have the best possible performance based on my cpu specs! I am good at understanding the sim, but not so much the cpu settings. Thanks!
Dave
I've done this exact flight in real life. Same location, airline, plane, everything.
Awesome!!
can you use the simbrief autofill for VATSIM flights?
I tried to click on W/B but it didn't work? Also, the SID i chose didn't show up so what am i supposed to do? where were we supposed to find our SID (like BURRO4)?
How do I get the fly by wire airframe to show up on sim brief?
I used same flightplan ut I went to turn on my alto pilot it would not engage, what do i do wrong. ?
I am having problems with the altitude and autothrottle buttons on this aircraft it will not engage the auto throttle speed i set it to neither the altitude when I try and press the button to engage it. Anyknow know a fix to this or?
but how did you know to do 4090 for the Thrust reduction.. I fly Fenix most times, I tried the FBW for first time, I was lost compared to Fenix cause everything is calculated for ya on fenix just like it would be on real one. I come over to this one and I'm not getting my normal load messages in AOC. and your right, when you said most times it is flaps 1 but usually there is either up0.1 or DN2.1 i've even seen.. is there no calcutions for that ?
Shouldn't your final altitude be the altitude that captures the ILS?....Also when working out T.O.D. your final altitude will be the altitude that you start the ILS... then the ILS will begin your descent profile...that's my understanding...
Amazing video.
I heard you said you are not a real life pilot or commercial pilot but you have so much knowledge Even about winds. I wanna know this much too. So please can you guide me from where to what things to learn first? You don't have an idea show much happy I'd be to know this stuff. Thank you :)
Honestly just Google Google and more Google... I'm like you and want to know and there's still so much I get wrong lol. But when I want to know something I dive in like crazy
i dont know why my flight plan screen becomes blank, nothing is there after i did all init pref
Can you please help me because I do everything that you do I'm the video perfectly and when i go to the f-pln page there is just nothing there
simbrief has updated loads since this tutorial and I'm struggling with the transfer of flight plan to MCPU
I need help! I cannot import a transition it dosen't appear. What do I do to fix this?
I don’t have the weight and balance option in the AOC menu and I have the same version of A32NX, somebody know what happens?
KDFW has horrible optimization. However there was an update in the content manager which improved performance at KDFW at least for me.
What aircraft version is this? I don't get the up arrows on the rotary. I'm using the latest stable V0.7.4.
This looks like the development branch...
Just starting watching now, but do you have performance degradation after a couple of hours in flights? Really like flying the 320nx, kind of relaxing (when it doesn't bug out), but it does get kinda samey after a while, lol. Really want some different (good) airliners in MSFS.
Good flight though, I'm much the same really with my approach to flying this aircraft. Might forget a thing here or there (or just ignore like the fire tests), but generally all good.
My W/B selection is grayed out for some reason on the mcdu
i dont get the little arrow up and down when i hover over the knobs
So the flight attendants start their safety rundown as soon as the battery and external power go on. This isnt right, is it?
You don't need to have the engine mode switches on all the time during take off and landing on the A320 Neo.
Yes, it’s only in adverse weather you might keep the engine mode selector in IGN/START. First point on the checklist after engine start, is to turn it back to NORM. This according to a real life A320 pilot.
Hi, why your Flypad is different, how do you get that black map?
Your primary flight target should be achieve destination as fast as you can, as efficient as u can. It's better to be little too high and little too fast than too slow and too low. Gear down, flaps full, ldg spd should be between 2 - 3 miles before runway.
Roger that!
Nonsense. You should have flap and gear by 1000ft radio.
Whole flight without Pitot heat lol. Love your videos bud.
hahaha awesome
You can leave that on auto though? No need to manually turn it on.
it’s turn on automatically.
PLEASE HELP!!
I dont have W/B page in MCDU
Any ideas??
26:38 I know I am not the only person who saw the fighter jet parked at a ramp. Thats the problem with trying to do the most realistic flight and then you see a tiny plane/jet parked at a gate. :\
Could you do another 747 tutorial?
What is the voice speaking and how did you get it? (during the pushback)
It was an old addon that unfortunately is no longer supported.
10:28 Why does mine take so long? but yours is very fast Do you speed up the video?
how or where do you get the initial alt number from? any info inthe mcdu or ofp?
Of there's a STAR, I usually use the first altitude restriction
Otherwise I just put something in semi low
My Flybywire A32xn performing Decent doesn’t work well :(
Svar a legend you are, thanks again
Nice video. Been following you for a short time. Couple comments about how I fly the FBW 32nx. I engage the AP earlier because the MCDU will manage your SID alt restrictions for you. Nothing wrong with hand flying her. Little Nav Map will calculate your TOD, nothing wrong with your method. Most airlines today start the APU when on the ground to save fuel. Thanks!
Still at the beginning of the video, so excuse me if this is addressed later, but the MCDU always gives me trouble after I enter the assigned approach. So often it redirects me to a waypoint somewhere way off that I can’t delete. Is this an issue with the sim/plane or am I just doing something wrong?
Stable version?
@@ooof5281 Yes, stable. I input the runway and approach as soon as ATC assigns it and most often I get some kind of weird detour
@@JanStrojil Yeah thats cause its using the Asobo FMS which you cannot delete or have custom waypoints. Nothing to do with the FBW but just old Asobo trashy FMS.
is the aircraft a mod for the default Neo A320 ? or is it a standalone aircraft @ "study Level" Like PMDG ?
flybywire A32NX :)
@@OverkillSimulations is this 0.8.0
When should we activate the APU Bleed? Just before pushback?
When your passengers complain about the cabin temperature.
I’m having such a hard time to get the aircraft to descend. I set the altitude to 10,000 ft and set the descent mode to managed. And it just won’t descend. Is there something I might be doing wrong?
Join the discord it'll be easier to help you out there :)
simbrief fp shows dct to the waypoint, so what do i put for sid
Nothing. You won't have one. You'll set your departure ICAO and rwy and then enter your legs until the STAR
What version A320 are you using. I know it’s FBW?
The INOP signs are yellow, so he is using the developer version. On the experimental version, the INOP signs are red.
Where do you get the values V1, VR and VR from?
Automatically calculated once you get the flaps setup and FMC for departing runway configured
u took a shit mid vid! respect! do you have a checklist better than the one from flybywire to share? thank you for the procedures
crew air supply/irs buttons inoperable. what am i doing wrong?
What version of the FBW A320 do you have installed... Make sure you're not using the default A320 by mistake
22:40 WTF is that F-35 Lightning II doing there?
i love you bro i just didnt know how to link my simbrief id to flyplad , oh sorry, flypad
now i figured it out from your video
I love you too man!! Lol! Glad I could help
I cant steer the plane bc when I turn right it starts with turning at left then after that I can finaly turn at right
Same bro...pls reply if u found any solution to this..
you're not supposed to delete the manual disco, mate
don’t forget to turn off. APU bleed!
oh no! i forgot APU bleed! best moment
it wont let me click on weight and balance to you know why?
same, did you figure it out?
