- The oldest Idea of the perpetual motion machine ever.
Bhaskara's perpetual motion machine was invented in 1150 by Bhāskara II, an Indian mathematician, in an attempt to create a hypothetical perpetual motion machine. The wheel consisted of curved or tilted spokes partially filled with mercury. Once in motion, the mercury would flow from one side of the spoke to another, thus forcing the wheel to continue motion, in constant dynamic equilibrium.

Bhaskara Wheel & Overbalanced chain भास्कर II - Věda a technologie
Guys this channel is full of video called PerpetualMotion, but you know those are great pieces of ART.
Congratulations for the designs.
Looks cool =D
But if the wheel stays balanced when u stop it, it's not overbalanced =]
It never will because eventually the wheel will find it’s balanced point and it will come to a stop,
@@Brigand17 Haha thank you :-)
I'll have to admit, it's a great way to get website hits, even though trickery is involved in making them run.
are you saying that when the heat from the friction equals the initial force the person inputted when moving the chain it will stop? I dont buy it
とても瀟洒にできました!Your excellent craftsmanship is truly admirable. こんな分かりやすいデモンストレーションは学生たちがよく理解できます。We have very good discussions in class between students who believe the machine will work in the real world and those who recognize where the flaw is. Thank you very much for all of your videos! どうもありがとうございます。
I've never seen the chain trick before. That one is really pushing the illusions limits. He presented the trick well until about 2:45. At that time he tries to make a smooth stop, as if the chain were just grabbed and stopped. Unfortunately the timing was off slightly from the stopping of the chain and the stooping of the drive wheel, the top most. The drive is stopped on que but the presenter continues to move the chain trying to come to a smooth stop. Can't win everyday.
Just a casual observation that’s probably been made before, but since I haven’t seen it in writing, I’ll attempt do so now. For Bhaskara’s wheel, if you focus on where the center of gravity of the water in each bottle is at every position around the circumference, it is definitely closer to the center on the up side than the down side. This appears to be true through all (actually most) of the positions on one side as it corresponds to the other side. So why doesn’t it work?
I think it’s because you need to make the same comparison only instead of side to side, measure the distance of the center of gravity of the water in each bottle to the center of the wheel from top to bottom. The distance is obviously shorter at the top than the bottom and the center of gravity of each water bottle must be lifted a full 180 degrees, however, the distance of the water bottle’s center of gravity doesn’t get to a point that’s farther from the center until approximately the 1:00 to 2:00 position, assuming a clockwise rotation. So, by the time the water bottle’s center of gravity arrives at the farther distance from the center of the wheel it will only offset the wheel for about 150 degrees of downward travel.
You don’t need to invoke the laws of thermodynamics to see why this doesn’t work.
That’s not a criticism of this very nicely made wheel veproject has provided for us. Actually, I’d like to compliment him because this obvious and fatal design flaw went unnoticed (by me anyway) for the past forty years until I had the opportunity to see in in action.
Another point I’d like to make is that if anyone ever does come up with a design that really works, it won’t need a push start-it’ll need a brake to keep it from beginning to spin on its own.
woah
@@kklol07 nicely said that is exactly what I was thinking
needing a brake would be the holy grail as you would extract energy
Bhaskara Wheel is awesome to me it could turn it to power source with unlimited capability. thank you Im learning a lot about this invention.God Bless Joseph Bernal.
I like youre project very much! Makes ppl think! Greetings from Germany !
i love stepper motors, are compact with excellent torque at low rpm... good trick!
Let me ask you, wise man, what the solenoid does in rotational machine?
Thanks for the Q good sir!
Ah, the solenoid, a humble yet crucial component in the realm of electromechanical devices.
In a rotational machine, such as an electric motor or generator, a solenoid serves various purposes depending on its configuration and placement.
One common application of a solenoid in a rotational machine is as an actuator for controlling mechanical components. For instance, solenoids are often used to engage or disengage gears, clutches, or brakes within the machine, thereby controlling its operation or facilitating its functions.
Additionally, solenoids can play a role in the electrical control and operation of the machine. They may be used to switch circuits, control the flow of current to specific components, or regulate the timing of certain actions within the machine's operation sequence.
Overall, the solenoid in a rotational machine acts as a versatile tool for both mechanical and electrical control, contributing to the machine's efficiency, reliability, and functionality.
this person is a mechanical genius he's really good at making things that really fool some people
I liked the second focus! Top wheel driving.
I hope this will go into a museum to show how some people still waste their lives when they lack a proper science education.
The museum should be too big :)
ApolloWasReal lol do you know science either? all these machines work on pocoe and gravity
sonic boom what is a pocoe?
+Indrid Cold
Oh did not hear about that. Do you remember who the scientists were? Or what they got the nobel prize for? Would love to read more on this.
+sonic boom
You are joking right? No perpetual motion machine works as advertised. It is simply impossible. You would need all moving parts to be friction less and have no air resistance. You would also need a universe where you could create new energy. So that rules out our universe. Without these problems being addressed perpetual motion is simply never going to happen.

well said well spoken easy to understand you sir are a positive force in this world
Why does it need an initial kick?
And why it can be stopped???
Silly Sad
Energy can neither be created neither destroyed.
@@souravjadhav4730 But it can be preserved
@Ice god it needs an external inertia or it will remain in its position. Newtons first law.
Since the water on the left side is further from the center than the water on the right, this alone would indeed cause the wheel to turn due to the imbalance of leverage. Now here's what they DON'T tell you: The water on the bottom of the wheel is also further from the center than the water at the top. Thus, there is more leverage resisting the lift than there is causing the fall.
can it change it's speed over time or will it move constantly?
Andrian Kusumawardana That's just it. Although the downward force on the left is greater than the upward resistance on the right, the lift resistance on the bottom is greater than the fall force on the top. Thus, all forces are equal. So to answer your question, it will not move at all.
Jake Jones Spot on. Thank God someone has a brain.
My physics master at school had a few of these machines and, even given a push start, they stop immediately.
Andrian Kusumawardana It will move constantly until the battery runs out. It is fake and powered by a hidden electric motor.
All of your videos look awesome and obviously the amount of negative comments is suggestive of the mind set of collective resistence... As if an industry or culture is resistent to simple ideas and fun physics .... Riddiculas resistnce to great demonstrations. I look forward to seing more of your awesome videos.
the second one makes th most sense......... more chain, more weight. keep up the good work. :-)
I have a friend who still firmly believes that machines like this work for real. He's 30, it's sad.
I have a friend in his SIXTIES, and he still believes this crap!
Half the morons on CZcams believe they work. You only have to read two or three comments on any of these videos to find a breathtaking ignorance of physics and an astonishing degree of credulity.
The one question none of the fraudsters ever answers is how or why the knowledge of a widely known so-called perpetual energy machine has been hidden for hundreds of years.
The understanding of science in the general population is absolutely woeful and nothing is so preposterous that a good number of people won't believe it.
Its not as bad as some other distractive behabior.
You are Leftists pretending to be smart - stop it :))) its annoying. Do you even Know why this works & the energy that is running the contraption? :))))) Harnessing Gravity to create Motion - BRILLIANT & perfectly doable. You can erase the friction with Magnets to supply as much energy needed to neutralize the frictional deductives.
Gravity supplies PE (Energy) + Energy supplied by Magnets - Friction & other small forces = Moving Wheel.

I like the sound the chain one makes!
Wow! It's amazing!
(I mean... It's amazing the lack of people's education concerning basic physic laws...)
For the overbalanced chain, in time 1:37 and 1:38 it is possible to see something black behing the top weel. Sure it is a motor. This is the reason you only show the back side of the lowest weels !!!
That explain why the top weel stop brutaly beforce the chain :-) Certains semblent oblier les lois de la physique :-)

bad timing on the chain one watch the top pulley stop before he stops the chain by hand this was the drive pulley witch also he does not show us when he adjusted the bolt at the back because he did not want us to see the motor
+Deon Hamilton I see it it kinda stutters when he restarts it
Deon Hamilton you can see the motor- well, *something* that definitely isn't a wing nut - when he first lifts the apparatus though XD
i like this one very much i this is real perpetual motion thanks for sharing from portugal
Hallelujah!!! It's a miracle!!!

Everyone here is judgemental and rightfully so. ASAP, I will build a test model. If it works, I see exactly how one could produce enormous torque by way of a 16 foot by 50 foot cylindrical model. Then fit as many of them as you can on a twenty acre spread, stacking them 2 or 3 high. Since water is enormously heavy, the torque converted to energy on such a scale would power small towns, or a very large factory or two. Nay sayers are 90% action less and 10% know-it-alls. I'll simply build one.
I will too ! :D i want one for my living room , the overbalanced chain is by far the most awesome but i think itll be too loud.
The original wheel was made of wood and used mercury as the liquid. Since water is much lighter, if water is used to generate the driving force, through gavity, the wheel may not run non-stop.
Don't you think it has been built a thousand times before you?
thousands of times ? where are the youtube videos then ? and will i find it anywhere? and will the owner gift it to me ?
goku21youtub they hadn't had youtube then. like, 1800 I guess
How long this works without momentum, how to bind a Dynamo to generate electricity?
No way... Just u can make a toy..
Does anyone know where I can buy one of the little motors (like the one you can hear whirring away when he switches it on in the 2nd clip) to power my perpetual motion device? What batteries do they need?
what if this is used to charge up a device that can restart the motion when it stops?
+romjab Because that would be "creating" energy, and that is physically impossible - just like perpetual motion devices.
I'm not saying it would last forever, I'm just saying it would last longer.
What about utilizing magnetic fields in space would that work?
Well, a very logical conclusion really, but the energy the motor would create, would be stolen directly from the momentum of the wheel. The magnets in the motor has a resistance, which is where the energy in an electric motor is collected from. All in all, the motor would steal more energy from the process, by slowing the wheel down more than the momentum it would give. (when i say electric motor, i talk about the electric energy collection device, because it is constructed the same way)
+August Studstrup Makes sense 🖒
now electricity company can go banktrupcy !
The over balanced wheel I made only works for about eight days and is too weak to turn anything. It is just a conversation piece. I have never hid that it does stop in about a week to eight days. But it does look impressive.
What if you tried the wheel with a 'slightly' bigger model (some barrels and a large wooden wheel attached to a metal post)? Will it be enough to power a small electric generator?
Great job keep it up .
i think~~i see something at the Back of the top wheel 1:38

@@DTMRM8 Are you ok with having an intellectual conversation on perpetual motion machines? Because I believe that the comment section is a whole bunch of idiots taking a stab at physics.
Why u no let it spin longer?!?! Ill tell you why. It cant.
I can make it spin for hours, but who will watch such movie? If machine is able to work at least 10 sec, it will work longer
veproject1 I don't believe you when you say hours, but only you know what's really going on there. Cool vids but you ain't foolin' me. Here is a challenge: let me watch that machine via Skype, and if it goes for more than an hour I will apologise and remove all my negative comments from all ur vids.
That's not enough. You have to buy it for $10M
veproject1 Wow you're such a troll.
***** build your own and looks for an hour... record and send it to your Skype (with your face seeing that "machine")
Thanks for the information
Nice to see there is still uses for micro pager motors.
You could have at least used a quieter motor for your "overbalanced chain". Or just turned off the sound on the video like you usually do when there's an obvious pump, motor or servo in the machine you're "demonstrating".
That sound can be heard before the wheel is set in motion. With the chain, that's expected to make a lot of noise, just because of the chain's shape.
There are a great many highly-efficient motion machines that appear to be perpetual motion in the short term, but are not. Some, set into motion with enough energy, can run for years. They all eventually stop, but I don't see clear evidence that this video is fraudulent.
Lurkily Esh
No, that sound cannot be heard before the chain is set into motion. A chain makes noise, sure, but not an obvious servomotor-like whirring noise.
If the guy wanted to prove that the video wasn't fraudulent, he would assemble and launch the machine in a single take and then as it was in motion, move the camera all the way around the machine. But for whatever reason he decides to film it in action from a static head-on angle.
P.S. The burden of proof is on the person making the claims. If he claims this is a perpetual motion machine, then he needs to prove it. The bystanders do not have to prove it is a fraud. It is interpreted as a fraud by default until it is proven to be true.
Akim Vasiliev These devices are not unknown - this video isn't the only place they've every been seen or made. Obviously they don't run forever - the author never claimed they did, and it would defy physical law as it's currently known. However, The Bhaskara wheel and the overbalanced chain will run for a long time with relatively little initial energy input.
Akim Vasiliev I said it could not be heard before the wheel is set into motion.
The sound of the chain should be expected - it's a heavy-gauge chain moving between pulleys, there's no way that will not generate noise. There's no way to prove there isn't a second noise source there because the volume of the chain is too loud.
Last but not least - the author of the video never claimed that these would run forever. The wheel at least, will operate exactly as shown, for a very long time, and can be found described on wikipedia.
Lurkily Esh They don't run even for a second. My physics teacher had a Bhaskara wheel and the minute you let go of it, it stopped. It is absolutely false that they "run for a long time with relatively little initial energy input". Build one and you will see that they don't work at all; not even a little bit.
If the motion was naturally perpetual you should not be able to stop the machine because it would autostart by itself.
januainferni nope
You are right.
Nope, as the initial friction is stronger than when running (the anti-blockade system of cars makes use of that when breaking). But unless their "won" energy matches exactly the lost energy, they should get faster when running, heat up and catch fire. The world should be full of unfortuate PM inventors, which by accident left their machine running over night. But not a single case is knows, except perhaps one of those inventors trying to blame a fire caused by his own incompetence on a machine out of sheer embarrassment.
You are absolutely right.
I think this is fake video.
januainferni.
I agree. If a force was created by the "over balance" of the contraption, that force would start the motion.
The only argument against that would be significant friction, but that argument would also work against the thing moving perpetually.
I have a similar if not the same book from 1899. it is a Joy,
and clearly states none of the novelties work. Thanks for the Videos!
beautiful bearings :)
It's not necessary to be a very smart physicist to understand is it work or not. Just ask a question why it's not already used in a practical way.
+Александр Иванов Sorry man but you can't be further from the truth. Much more accurate would be saying think of any cool invention that you dream off and you can be pretty sure we could have it, we do have it, but not for public.
jirka merunka nevertheless, just one simple question... :)
"not for public" have a sense only if it was to hard to reproduce, but it's not such case.
Or may be you know other reason and can explain why it is "not for public"?
Александр Иванов Oh man, do you not live in this world? "not for public" means they have a reason not to give it to the public and it is not because it's hard to reproduce... if they give you a free energy generator, you will never pay your electric company again. IF they give you electric cars and batteries that last for a month then all the oil companies would go south. And since everything is connected and these huge ass corporations rule the governments then none of these inventions will be made public... You think they can't make light bulbs that last a life time? Well they could but then you would never buy another light bulb again and they would go bankrupt... SO the reason is always MONEY and POWER. Many people have come up with such inventions only to be killed, threatened or ridiculed... Then you wonder why is it 10 year old Japanese girls coming up with a hand held flashlight that uses your body temperature to work... Japanese girl coming up with a battery that holds 10 times more energy that it is normal and it can be recharged in under 5 minutes... It's because this stuff is not supported cause it doesn't make money. So pathetic....
jirka merunka ok, friend, it obvious for me. I just don't clearly understood your first answer. I meant only such fakes like in this video but not real working alternative sources of energy.
+hydrus77 I'm with ya amigo
we all know there is a free energie. just like teslas said.
Amen Tesla was sabotaged.
Or maybe it just didn't work. Not everything is a conspiracy, you know.
Your right! The quantum fluktuation in Space is useable. Only you nett a few hundred buillion dollars, to make it useful. with only a few events per cubic kilometer per year, you need a few million cubic kilometers of space, and the technology behind, to make it useful!
HAPPY RESEARCH!
Of course, where do you think lightning and static electricity comes from.. thin air? There's around 1000 volts of static electricity per 100 feet length of copper wire, insulated 10 feet off the ground. The charge rate is unpredictable and the current is very low. Firstly, high voltage capacitors solve the first dilemma, then a step down transformer solves the second. The transformer needs to match a 12 volt battery charger of around 20-15volts. Just one length of 100 feet of copper wire will take days to charge just one battery, so several of the devices are needed to make charging quicker or practical. So it's just as practical as any stack of Photovoltaic Cells together in a panel.
Every big house has more than a 100 feet of copper wire. Does this produce energy? No.
You must do a lot of things, to earn this energy! And this doing, cost you more money than the energy you collect!
Otherwise everybody would use this energy at home!
i really really want to know how long this one turns without any physical manipulation after the beginning "activating first " impuls ? thank you ... love it .. christa from vienna
Thank you for sharing. Are they continuous? Stopping time for both?
really people believe this video is for real?
yes
+Daniele Oliva i think you can make a thing spinning forever , untill you take his energy because in perpetual movement the energy that created by the device is necessecery to keep the machine running , remove his energy and it will stop ,,
we live in a fake world we think a lot of fasle reality ,, for sure , otherwise all should be easy
Funny how many haters there are out there. Sure we might be smart as humans but we have not gotten to the point where we understand 100% of all physics in the universe. Just because its someones "theory" that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, does not mean its 100% correct. There could be an infinite amount of energy that we have not discovered. Yeah I'm sure cavemen thought they were smart too, because they could outsmart an animal and turn it into his next meal, but he would have never understood the world we live in today. Just as we will not understand the world of technology 500 years from now. What if we could harness the energy of a black hole? What if we can harness the energy of dark matter? Ideas that seem crazy now could be a part of everyday life thousands of years from now. All you doubtful minded people are just limiting the capability of innovative ideas. We will never know if perpetual motion exists until we have tried every possible way of attempting it...
+Dylan Hutchison It's not a theory, it's a law.
Stop talking shit mate.
both are fake, why: 1. in perpetuum motion both will start if you dont hold it anymore but it doesnt. 2. in perpetuum motion it will speed up more and more until it will crash into pieces. nice fake at all
It means free electricity, and engines without fuel.. Good job..
if the weight of this material is always heavier on one side what could make it stop moving? If one could keep adding a link to an infinite length chain laying on a table it would continually fall from a table if dropped off the edge right?? so long as there is just one link more hanging off the edge....... this is similar as it just keeps adding chain on the heavy side because the chain is connected in a continuous loop. do you think this guy has a motor connected to one of the wheels? is it a continuous loop camera video spliced together what?
It is funny to read people despising these videos. First of all: these mechanical things are nice and elegant, they are witness of the human ingeniosity answering to an ideal goal. Secondly, who cares about what the builders think about the feasability of perpetual motion? Humanists have built these machines from all over the millenniums, it is an heritage which shouldn't be forgotten as any part of our culture. Thirdly: in our modern physics, spontaneous generation of energy is absurd. So what? Good for you knowing the second law of thermodynamics, go get your bachelor degree.
Yeah, I know the 2nd law. I also know that it's not the law allegedly being violated here. It's the 1st.
I don't despise videos intended to educate and entertain. I *do* despise people who try to con money out of the ignorant by fooling them into thinking they really have found a way to get something for nothing. CZcams is full of such people, both the gullible and the dishonest. Theodore Sturgeon was so right.
The problem is the people that build on this to try and *sell* their "over unity free energy" projects. I guess a fool and his money are soon parted and all that, but it's still a swindle.
Daniel Nebdal Exactly.

+livecastingshowtv Is not fake it can be explained with physics
Yoram Stein Explain it please then...
Yoram Stein nope :P
Well, let's go.
Harnessing Gravity to Travel - BRILLIANT!!
Yes it can work - An Object in Motion stays in Motion if left undisturbed - So the amount of PE being supplied to the body by gravity is being taken away at the same time - when the wheel or chain are in motion. Now when you factor in friction - the energy supplied gets reduced - so the wheel or chain would stop even if they run for a long time BUT :))) we can use magnets to supply energy to overcome friction. The theory is sound. So, you can deny & sleep while we build the world's first flying saucers :))))) But since this was already known in 1100s - do you think people may have already figured out these things before?
I also am very interested in the quest for perpetual motion and over-unity machines. Both of these look & sound very promising. If this was presented in a theory - I'd definitely support building a model, however since the model has already been made here and is being demonstrated... there is one way that we can easily conclude that this probably doesn't work:
1) If the test tubes cause greater weight on the left side than the right, it should start on its own without the need for a "push". It is probably very close to a perpetual motion machine and could spin for a long time, but I think it would eventually stop. If he could stop it and let go of it with no push, then it could work.
2) The chain is slightly heavier on one side, but it is also slightly resting on the rollers so that will make up the difference. Same as the previous one... if it was truly perpetual motion, it would not require a push to get it started.
As someone who is very interested in these things, I am quite offended by all the 'fakes' and tricks that are out there. It's great to publish it as an idea, but to claim that it works when it doesn't is just anti-productive.
Fake fake

It is very interesting. Thank you.Is not it okay to combine these two?
THANK YOU Zrowny!!! finally someone who knows what their talking about! im very curious to see what the universe will be like once everything settles into place and seises (sorry for typo) to move. yes molecules are always vibrating but at some point everything will reach absolute zero
there are no friction? can we apply it in big scale for generating energy
Awesome.
interesting...I never know perpetual machines exist before today.
If there is no trickery involved with the overbalanced chain, I have to say it looks pretty neat ! If there is any overunity here you would need a massive chain to generate usable power from it.
Okay that is so cool!
Forces are balanced in both cases.

Unbelievable! :D
I'm particularly impressed by the sound of the electric motor that drives it!

Verproject, what if the fluid inside was responsive to magnets. Setup magnets behind the wheel such that they move the fluid to one side of the wheel. If you traced the center of gravity of each bottle as it rolls through a cycle then place magnets in that position slightly skewed to one side of the wheel, then wouldn't this cause some additional torque?
Good one 👍
amazing.
By definition, PMM is the machine which, once activated, would continue to function
Yes , but not these machines, but in theory a magnet motor should start and run on it’s own permanently, untill you block 1 of those components,
Can we use this motion for energy?
the test tube one looked cool. : )
some of these ideas are cool to watch. I'd hook up a battery and solar charger to keep it powered for a LONG time.
