Wow, pretty cool to be analyzed by Pete and get second. The time extension for capitals should be implemented. Can't run the whole board without the quick movement on the attack. Or there could be a swipe attack instead of a push button attack to help out the mobile players. Til next time Pete...I won't be so generous in the "noob" pocket. LoL. GGs
GGs man! With your positioning (two caps on total opposite sides of the maps and in corners) I think second was pretty much the only possible outcome unless I totally screw up.
I agree we need to have PC and mobile players on a more level playing field. I don't know that it's high up on SMG's list but we can hope.

As a mobile player, I have 100% been screwed over by the turn timer on 90 second turns on bigger maps. It's so painful losing due to an equipment issue and not a skill issue
Also a mobile player and I’ve won on earth 2209 from 1 troop progressive due to speed on my phone. Sometimes the complaints are warranted but i think people would be surprised

I like the turn timer and yes there is an advantage to pc because it’s faster - however you still have to place troops and execute.

Seeing orange in the corner reminds me of when I was playing river town capitals fixed trade in and no fog or portals I caped in a 1 point hold before 3 others caped in the same area one trying to get a 1 point hold for 3 bonuses the other caped looking for the other 1 point hold and the other just had no other good cap area and some how after like 10 turns of repeating the same thing stack cap as I was blocked behind a cap and the guy moved his troops onto another cap and then lost all of his troops and the person he attacked lost his troops and that left me to capture one side of the map while 2 others fought for the others side which I invaded with double there troops and forced to card block them and break them first some how leaving me to win even though I shouldn't have with my horrible luck

Mister Peterman McPetemanson The Third, I have a pressing matter at hand that has effectively wasted 5 hours of my life, and does so on several occasions.
STORY TIME (AN APPLICABLE ANECDOTE FROM AN HOUR AGO):
- Risk can be played on steam, as I presume most PC players would do (IDK if there is any other PC playing method).
- Caps games last for hours on end if your opponents/allies lack the knowledge to card block in the progressive card format.
- As such, a man needs to be able to eat, go someplace else other than a room without eventually ending in brain-decomposition.
- I have a laptop. On steam, you are able to stream your computer to another desktop/laptop/pc should it be on the same wifi/ethernet/lan network or whatever the exact specifics are... I did so as to eat dinner outside in my backyard with my dog [superior to schmumpus man/boy/ginge mind you as she has more belly room for tummy smacks XD] whilst not going afk. It does get laggy etc and the graphics go to mush, but when you're trading cards without much activity, it is fine.
- I come back to my pc after my half hour outside (we are well into the 10,000's on caps, so a long game aye), and I wish to close my laptop's 'streaming version' as it drains battery etc. I do so, it closes on both devices.
-Ok, well I can just open Risk GD on my desktop again? Yes. I can just reconnect???
As the iconic Australian phrase goes: Yeah Nah. It offers, I accept the drop down tab and it goes into the ready up screen you get where it is all black and your icon.
Ope, it says the host cancelled the match (mind you, all 5 players inc. me are still alive, active and well in the game moments prior), and then disconnects me from that match, sending me to the homescreen without an ability to reconnect this time (which I presume me being in a god spot would end in my character going npc bot throwing and making me die rather quickly, finishing in probably the ultimate or penultimate position). This has happened many times to me over the last few months, not from shutting the game necessarily, but whenever I DC and it isn't just an idle warning, it always goes to the ready up screen and Disconnects, or it shows the starting board as it was initially, says draft with your avatar/colour regardless of your position, and the whole screen cannot be interacted with (buttons dont work eg. cant place troops or choose a capital yada yada yada).
This has happened every SINGLE time I have properly disconnected from steam (IDK bout mobile DCing), and mind you, I have over 300 hours on steam and quite a few disconnects in there (not for the sake of fake botting strats but rather having IRL matters that intefere with my long games for a few minutes).
Sadly, as my work overlapped with the 9am AEST twitch chat with SMG you had today, I couldn't ask the question there, but did anybody in the chat, SMG themselves or you address this issue, and if so, could you reply with whether this issue surfaced and if any solution is being managed, becuase I really don't want to have to be stuck to my desktop for half a day in 1 match like its a kidney substitute dialysis machine.

Within the first 6 minutes red and blue bailed on fantastic caps, placed garbage caps in noob corner instead, got them both selves killed and capless, and then botted out. SIX MINUTES. This game is 7x the length. We are also only on turn 2 not even done with it. they played one turn.

Can someone explain how stealing Pete’s cap was not the correct move for magenta? 13 vs 5 is a pretty good roll and you get rid of a neighbor cap
13v5cap is 92.75% in BB so there is a 7.25% chance this play ends with magenta losing all his troops and ending their game and mine.
Even if it is successful at winning the cap, how many troops will be left?
The benefit of caps dice kick in at 3 or greater, beneath which they are essentially a normal 1 or 2 stack. So assuming Magenta wins the roll, and assuming the have 6 troops left that means they can afford to leave exactly 3 troops on either capital now we're looking at a situation where anyone who held a bonus T1 and can see those hypothetical weak caps steals it turn two and we still both end up losing our caps and die.
Different players all play the game in their own way. I often just slam neighbor caps as a principle but some players have seen enough early game cap rolls where the player that "wins" the cap roll now only has 5 troops to split across 2 capitals and ends up with zero on the next round.
For the love of risk - I wish people would stop slamming caps like this. End result is they lose and bot out ruining both players. See it far too often sadly.

Right! Especially when the previous turn we just saw what looked a lot like orange attacking purple. And purple had just locked their cap off to Pete so they wouldn't really be able to retaliate. Definitely not a great play. Honestly, the fact that he lost the roll may have saved him the game. If he would have won the roll then when orange saw the caps switch they would have known Pete was weak and that it was essentially a 1v1 now.
