If anyone thinks Marty's concern over the front brake pad retaining clip was unnecessary, you're wrong. Just as you saw one pin sticking half out in the video, I'd just replaced pads on my MX3 years ago, didn't think the clip was needed.... Made a hard right turn and... *BANG CLICKCLICKCLICK...* pin flew out into the wheel spokes. Cracked the wheel.
damn, wasn't expecting someone to mention an MX-3 here. Glad I put everything together the way it came off and avoided that pin backing itself out.

Hey, just wanted to say that almost a year ago, I didn't care much for cars. Watching you guys with my fiance almost every day, and seeing you guys working on the 350 has helped me get into cars. Due to this, I want to pick up a 350 myself and fix it up. We found a 370 nearby and every time I see any z car, I get really really happy. Thanks for everything guys!
Brilliant vid guys, I've been watching for years now as I love watching real builds showing the real pain of working on your car. Far too many shows around that are more about arguments than the work.
Yes it makes life much easier when someone else is paying for the parts but the only reason they're doing that is because you guys do such a great job.

Had an 02 g35x that was a huge pain in the ass to work on, but once I had the exhaust done it sounded so good! Drive an 01 pathfinder with the same vq35de engine now coincidentally lol
Still blows my mind that people have actually been able to fit twin turbos in these engine bays!

I'm glad my GTO has tons of room for under-the-hood changes; those headers look like there was a lot of movie magic happening to cut this video down to the length it was.
Cars Simplified a couple of months ago I helped a friend put headers on his z and it probably took 8 or so hours it was insane.
I was lowering the car on the jack, had my hand on the coilover, holding it in place so the bolts would go through the mount...as I was lowering it, my finger apparently slipped between two of the coils, and got smashed to hell. Didnt break it though, fortunately. Like my ex used to tell me, watch where youre putting those fingers!

Yeah. But it can always get worse: Back when I owned a Toyota Celica T23 I needed some replacement part that was hard to find online. So I went to the local Toyota dealer's garage and they glanced at my car and seriously asked me if that was a Toyota, because he didn't recognize the model...Should've picked a Yaris, I guess.
The 350Z stock hood is actually aluminum and is very lightweight. It actually weighs right around the same amount as your average carbon fiber over fiberglass hood.
That hood looks pretty cool though.
EDIT: I just got to the point where some bloke starts painting it and I take that back about it looking cool.

I don't know if you're serious or not but the stock hood only weighs ~22 pounds. Would be interested in seeing that carbon fiber hood.

PLEASE DO NOT get '03 - '05 headlights that were originally on that Z; GET THE '06 - '08 headlights, they make the car look MUCH better.

Jamie Aitken imo hoods should be body color. I find black hoods look out of place and cobbled together. Black roofs are fine though. My opinion

We're glad what route you guys have gone with the Z33 but we'd love for you guys to talk about why it's important to go with fixed back FIA certifiable seats, why you can't run harnesses with reclinable seats and why the cage is welded in. Many of your viewers might not 100% understand that to compete or partake in motorsport events like a duel club sprint (excellent events for beginners) your car needs to pass scrutineering if you modify it wrong, it costs you dearly down the line to fix all your mistakes ;)

Staying in Australia i think you definitely need a rotary build some time in the future.. But I've always been a fan of 350z great looking car! Been watching religiously since around 2013. Being the builders i guess you guys can make the choices of the colour/artwork.. As long as the cars are neat when they done and digging the detail of every build. Never knew 350s were such a tight fit to work on! Keep em coming!!

I live in Canada and I've been watching this show since the beggening. I got a 2015 Nissan Micra and although I totally enjoy watching this show it's getting hard not to get jealous. You see I'm broke AF(like many), but have a vision of what the car should be. Seeing these guys just get what they want even joke parts and then just build it is, well, though lol. They are awesome and im happy they took this show t the next lvl like it deserved. Kudos

I helped my dad change a clutch in his old 260Z about 7 years ago.... I remember thinking that this was all meant to done with slim Japanese fingers :) ..... no racism intended what so ever, seriously. It was all such a tight fit.

OishiiMelody well they aren’t exactly crappy, but the 350z is relatively affordable, $10K could get you one plus a little left over for mods. Not cheap, but lots of performance for the money

This is awesome, no ridiculous engine swap or huge turbo, this is going to be a realistic build on a realistic car. Dont get me wrong, I love your big builds, but this is what got us all loving MCM in the first place.

350Z's came with aluminum bonnets which are very light. lighter than most aftermarket carbon fiber hoods since most of those still use a bunch of fiberglass in them. only really high end and expensive carbon fiber bonnets are actually lighter than the oem piece.
Absolutely this, the wings are very light too even though made of steel, had to change one of mine. The part to seek out in carbon is the tailgate it feels like with weighs a ton even with gas strut assistance but i believe they pretty non existant. Its funny every one bashes the 350z for being heavy but i doubt it is much different to a BMW 2 series these days i think their weight has been disguised by torquey modern turbo engines
