It's worth noting that his C2 gives a shield to ALL nearby characters when he uses burst- meaning he can actually be used to shield your teammates in co-op if you have it.
I really tried to get c2 Zhongli because of that. I can carry my friends to any event with that thick shield

Diona's C2 also does that, although not as strong as Zhongli it's a nice thing to have in a 4* constellation

I just got him and, dude, it feels like I've been playing a whole different game up until now. He's my first "meta" character and just having him on support has changed everything. I didn't know enemies could die so fast holy shit, and I just shoved some average HP artifacts I had lying around and a Black Tassel and I'm wrecking shit already. Fell in love with the game all over again!

@@ivancosta3408 I'm at AR50, using characters from lvl 60 to 80. But, for example, I used to take forever to farm Tenacity artifacts at the highest lvl with the Geovishaps. Now with Zhongli I don't even have to use food buffs, they die really fast.

IKR. I just pulled him and hes still lvl 60 not ascended. And i put some underleveled random artifacts which dont even form a set. One of the artifacts being just level 6. And a lvl 70 r1 prototype starglitter that i had.

Zhongli shield is so good not only because it makes you practically immortal , it also prevents the DPS loss from getting hit/dodging
will soon need to rely on dodging/iframing, mihoyo introducing true dmg :( , hits will go thru shield

To those hesitating just because two monsters can counter his shield (corrosion wolves and whatever husk which is not yet released), please remember that Zhongli's shield still invalidates like 85-90% of the game content. If you want him because you don't like the dps loss or headache from constantly dodging/getting interrupted, you won't regret it coz he's worth it.
those bathysmal vishaps also ignores shields but yeah it really doesn't matter much for most content in the game
From a C6 haver's perspective: the healing from his constellation is honestly so minimal unless you're really just letting yourself get beat up (because you don't get interrupted with his shield so no reason you can't still dodge or dps). I've never had a problem with this constellation over-healing my Hu Tao. Be aware though that it's not super helpful against corrosion because you have to take dmg to get any sort of heal. Especially since corrosion stacks it's not a good method of healing yourself against that

There're these floating wolf enemies in Inazuma (not sure bout liyue but apparently there are some in mondstadt, and definitely in some parts of inazuma) that can afflict the effect, which will deal constant damage to you, *even if you have a shield* . Because of that, healing is preferred against corrosion because it actually works against it.
@@g6a0912 there’s no wolves in Liyue (thank F*ck), besides Razor, Boreus and some signs of canine, those are an Inazuman native and we’d like to keep it that way

I played since the game first came out, and I'm still enjoying the game in a way but not the same as before lol Zhong li makes the game a lot more enjoyable so I'm glad you got him pretty early on in the game. Zhongli's shield aspect is getting nerfed through the new enkanomiya boss, rifthounds, etc. But he has a lot of other things that are good. His petrification, though his animation is long, not getting thrown around like a ragdoll which is helpful for squishy people like Yoimiya, enemy res shred, and the best reason, Mining.
tbh res shred of shield is by far the most important part, as you will usually run a healer alongside him anyways (with some exceptions) so its ok to take damage
@@Zy0x 5 patches after getting him I learnt that he had this res shred so I was confused why I did more damage
Also, according to the 2.5 leaks, the new enemies get nerfed when hitting shields, so Zhongli is coming back from corrosion

@@dahrey3804 yup! I used to build him as a shield bot but I eventually got bored with that playstyle so, now I built him like that with 2pc Tenacity 2pc Noblesse and Favonius Lance. It's really fun to spam his burst everywhere hehe.

I just got him yesterday and man he is so OP. It's such a bliss to fight things without being kicked around every fucking time! His shield stays long enough for me reaply it again unlike other character we have (looking at u Noelle). Also Diluc's and Ynafe's dmgs skyrocketed with him!!!
How, I have tenacity 4 piece on him, nobles 4p on bennet and dragon slayer tales on Barbra, xiao alone does like 29-31k damage and with all those buffs it only boosts up to 36k, HOW?

Everytime I see someone "complaining" about Zhongli's ult cast time, a full "bruh" just echoes in my mind, because every 5 star has a long cast time on ult.
"But ZhoNgli HaS tHe LonGest time". Yeah, by like, 1 - 1,5 seconds
It's still a long time tbh. But yeah it's not that big of a deal.
It's because a high investment character can do more damage during that animation. I mean for most people it doesn't matter. But zhongli is on my Hu tao team. I'd rather spend that 3 seconds on my Hu Tao charge attacking. So I only zhongli burst when I want to petrify enemies.
in the abyss 1 second can make a difference

Zhongli was a gamechanger for me. I got him yesterday, I built him as a pure shield support. And oh boy I fall in love with the game again.

I won my 50/50 and got Zhongli. Then used my remaining wishes on the Ganyu banner for Xingqui cons. I randomly got Ganyu 12 wishes after getting Zhongli. I used up all my luck for this whole year already.
I got zhongli in 73 pulls. Then qiqi in 20 and ganyu in 10. Pretty happy with it

Having his shield is one hell of a game changer. I just got him this morning and man how I love the comfort. My Ayaka DPS has been seeking a strong Shielder since you know can't rely much on her dodge since stamina isn't forever and I needed it too for enhanced attack. I got diona and even layla but they can't compare to grandpa's shield. My team was fully optimized as he completed the role for shield and tank. I got my buffer, healer and DPS. He is truly a character you will need and can fit with every team comb😮

Been planning for Zhongli for weeks!! I decided to go with a mixed build - 2pc Petra/2pc Noblesse, HP sands/Geo dmg goblet/HP circlet, and Jade Wing Spear. I’m enjoying it a lot so far :D
Cyro DPS Zhongli is good niche as well with Shenhe, Chongyun, Yunjin. It's incredibly disgusting how it worked so well!

You didn't mention in the video but as a bonus on the C2 it's very useful on Coop since the ult shields all the party members
One thing I wanted to mention is that the emblem set also works on zhongli, you can spam your burst, do REALLY good damage(70k+ damage if built well), the shield wont be as tanky as ToM, but it's a good option for a hybrid build

@@azwell45depends on the enemies you are fighting against. But it is not gonna break unless you have really low hp.

Thanks for highlighting Tenacity, I somehow overlooked just how much stuff is crammed into that set. Looks like I have another farm to add to the to-do list on my main account where I pulled him at C0 to shield Xiao and provide death-by-spacebomb. My f2p account pulled him to C2 in 200 wishes and I'm gonna wreck co-op domains with him once he's built better; he's fast taking over as my main there and I have no regrets saving for him (okay maybe a little regret I couldn't pull for Gorou but there's always later / super-lucky permabanner pulls).

I just pulled Zhongli on his re run banner! I'm so excited because I wasn't expecting to actually pull him. I got Keqing instead of Albedo so I didn't have high hopes for Zhongli
I've noticed that if you're running him with Itto, Tenacity is an especially good artifact set for him since Itto's bull construct resonates with Zhongli's pillar, usually resulting in more uptime for the ATK buff.
I farmed 300 wishes for months for this got 2 ganyu 1 zhongli 1 mona and vortex vanquisher and amos bow took about 300 wishes no money involved since im F2P :) keep the good work with your videos good sir :)

My Zhongli's shield with bad artifacts, black tassel, and lvl 2 talents is literally marginally stronger than my lvl 70 noelle's shield with good artifacts, maxed talents, and r4 favonious greatsword.
Favonius is Energy Recharge, right? I feel like Noelle's best sword is the Whiteblind crafted sword, it's Def % substat is very nice.
I mean, Zhongli's shield is definitely stronger, but Noelle's shield is fantastic when built right. She was my first Zhongli haha
A built Noelle shield is actually more tanky than zhonglis shield. Too bad her skill cooldown is astronomically high.

Personally I believe going with a support playstyle with him. There are many other characters that can do greater damage and what I've seen from using Bennett, Diona and Fischl is that when you let support characters shine in the role they're meant for, everything else becomes a breeze.
I just got Zhongli last night and at c1 at that so I am really doing my best finding him artifacts. I am also asking around my friends what artifacts build they use. Options are nice since different players have different play style. I really like your videos because it always give good options for a f2p like me. So thank you for making these.

There's something so satisfying about dropping a meteor that can deal over 100k damage from a rift in the sky
I saved a lot of primos once I heard his gonna have a rerun, I was so sad when I got xiao at literally 1 pity, he took my guarenteed 50/50,but I still won the 50/50 and got zhongli at 40 pity. I'm currently building him, he's at lvl 64, talents 151, with 65 crit rate and 165 crit dmg, with blackliff r1 lvl 50, with a total of 900 atk. Yet somehow, his meteor at talent lvl 1, on benett ult did about 40k dmg. I'm guessing it's because of Bennett ult, nobless buff, full blackliff passive(not sure, I'm just guessing here), and geo resonance. Still, he dealt a 40k ult at talent lvl 1 with a lvl 50 weapon, I love him so much.

Hey, i have had an question about reactions:
Does diffrent reactions cause diffrent amount of dmg and if so what are the most powerful/most dmg dealing/stratigic useful reactions?
Like melt or vaporize has been praised very much, but in "elemental mastery" it says that overload makes much more dmg in percentage(, even though it explodes and kicks the enemies in every direction-> is this why ppl seem to avoid overload and prefer vap/melt or is this hust an illusion of mine?).
Bro, melt and vape accounts for the your attack and crit values and gives % damage boost on your final output, whereas overload/electorcharge only concerns the EM and lvl of character who triggers it and is a flat damage increase(no multipliers increase from these).

You don't understand.
Melt and vape are multiplicative, they multiply your base damage, that means it counts your Crit dmg, dmg bonus% and attack
Transformative reactions don't care about that, they only care about elemental mastery
An overload caused with 2000k atk and an overload caused with 0 atk cause the exact same dmg if the EM of the characters is the same
to put it in simple terms in case you're more of a beginner and the above is confusing (or to anyone else lurking), to put it simply, melt/vape takes the damage you would have done, and multiplies it by 1.5/2 respectively (plus any EM bonus you have). Overload instead doesn't touch the damage you would have done, it instead creates a whole other damage bubble, that's damage is based off your elemental mastery. The bonus to overload and stuff is *higher* with EM, but because Vape/Melt starts off with a bigger number that it multiplies, it get more dmg out of the EM bonus, even if it's a smaller percentage. To give a very basic example of this, if your pyro attack does 100 dmg, if you trigger melt it will do 200, and then is multiplied by your EM bonus, let's say around 30%, and it becomes 260. Meanwhile overload makes a second damage, so you might do 100 pyro dmg, and then 50 overload, and then just the overload is multiplied, we'll say by 60%. this makes the final damage 180, which is half what the melt damage did, even with double the percentage. Does it make a bit more sense now?
i know zhongli in and out, favorite character, been playing him for months (i use him mostly for protecting my klee tho 🥰), but i still like listening to these guides

I got Zhongli today, I levelled him to 50, gave him random HP artifacts and a black tassle and took him on a test run. It took me a while to avoid my ingrained instinct to dodge (thanks, Yae), but after a while I realised that he really allows you to turn your brain off during fights. In conclusion, my Xiao can stop dying lol.
I'm freaking out after i won 50/50 on Zhongli banner with 55 pity, lol i never got this early aside from Kazuha banner before😂
4-piece Archaic Petra is quite underrated for Zhongli. In a Melt Ganyu comp where Bennet already boosts your attack, that 35% elemental damage boost with his shield’s resistance shred does a lot. Picking up crystals isn’t as difficult as people say it.

Tip for zhongli's playstyles:
• when using him as a shield bot, his ult dmg is so low, so don't bother using it because it's only a dps loss
• when using him as a burst spammer, his shield is not that strong, that's why his ult has a petrification, it's purpose is to give you invulnerability for a few seconds and you can still be protected from damage and interruptions when attacking even your shield is easy to break ( C4 will make you appreciate this effect more ) so get as much ER as possible, and also, C2 is great for this role because you can get shield when ulting so you can no longer use the hold version of his skill and saves you a bit of time
• Geo traveller is his best partner if you build him for his pillar dmg because they make the most number of geo constructs compare to other geo characters, also gives you tons of energy for your burst and makes the AOE of the pillar much much larger, great for tenacity of millelith artifact
If I we're to use him with Geo Traveler, can you suggest some artifact sets and mainstats/substats

PSA: For a burst support build, 4p Emblem beats 2p Archaic /2p Noblesse above 140% ER (So you only need 20% ER from substats or weapons) and the emblem domain is a much better use of your resin.
usually u dont go 140 er zhongli as hp/crit are much better and even ToM support will provide you with much more value
& if you have good emblem pieces use them on someone else tbh
but yeah it can technically be viable
yeah I'm annoyed I only just found this out, mine had 123 and would have over 140 if I had emblem. unfortunately my nob and Petra pieces are almost irreplaceable as they substats are very good.
yeah, I do agree in terms of resins management. It makes this build more practical imo. Since there not many geo characters are using Archaic Petra rn and I'm regularly farming on this domain, it's so much easier to find him a good emblem set as you can just throw hp sand and hp sub stats on him then you don't have to be worry anymore about his er plus you'll still gain the set effect as a bonus. Also, the particals generated from his pillars are not so reliable if you are fighting bosses in the abyss since they could be destroyed. Having a bit higher er is still much better if you want to continuously using his burst.

i'm pulling for his c1 because it gives you more opportunities to place the pillar close to enemies while also refreshing his shield. that's useful for procing the millelith effect and also for making pulse dmg structures with geo traveler :D
Exactly what I needed !! Just dropped him by pure luck (won my 5th 50/50 back to back) and I then realised I had no idea how to build him properly as a sub dps, burst and everything… thanks :)
Tenacity domain is a pain to farm so watch out for that l

Give him Black Tassel + 4pc Tenacity @ 30k HP and you won't lack for shield or consistent 50k Q's
Then what's about his crit rate and crit dmg? I build him purely for shielder.

@@AliceMill69 if you build him entirely for godly Shield ( means hp, hp, hp) then no, the burst damage won't be as good and i will recommend to not use his burst then considering it has long animation and will be a dps loss in abyss. On the bright side tho, hp build is very easy to make and also no need to worry about crit ratio. So it depends on you if you want some burst dmg then you have to sacrifice some shield but if you want full godly shield then black tassel + all hp% would be best
@@AliceMill69 It won’t do as much damage as burst support Zhongli, but it should still do decent enough damage as his burst scales off of his hp.
I just realized how essential zhongli is for all 5 star dps in liyue. As a xiao and ganyu main, I can say pulling zhongli was the best thing that had ever happened to me. It made my life so much easier

Thank you for posting this video! I was extremely lucky on his banner and got his c1 and will be going for his c2 hopefully before the end! Ngl Zhongli was a character I had wanted since I first started playing this game back in July of 2021 and when I had finally gotten him, there was a sense of fulfillment and happiness jeje =w= I was screaming with my friend on stream lol
I'm glad to see tht I was going in the right direction in regards to what artifacts I should use and will be farming for a better sands and goblet ; - ;
